The biggest head scratcher to me is these coaches reviewing the tape every week and they can’t see this? You can’t argue our talent and what to run when we literally play soft coverage week in and week out. At least play some press man and make them beat you, because they’re kicking our * anyway

Kinda makes you think don't it? LoL

I’m not so sure. We’ve seen time and time again, the Cowboys make noise in November and December, but get one and done in the playoffs.

That is true and that's what I say to my cousin who loves them and thinks this is their year.

It would be nice for Jerry if they do win it or at least make it to the super bowl.

I remind him long trends in the NFL usually remain  trends lol. But if they do fail in the playoffs its no fault on him as he's done a good job fielding a talented team.

  3. What a Dominant game tonight by the Cowboys. Jerry has really assembled a All around power house and he spares no expense to win and gladly picked up Gilmores  $10 million contract to boost team.. Also a shout out to their scouts for spottimg Skip Bayless calls "Eleven from.Heaven".

Dak is in MVP form and my choice for making Super Bowl which would great for Jerry as he is maybe the best owner in league or at least true to win as.much other.

    Hopefully anywhere but Indianapolis, Indiana

    Thats how I feel.

I know the NFL is more than X's & O's and talent etc..... But minshew can only do so much with his limited talent AND athleticism even on his and the teams good days..With him, its always going to be a uphill struggle when he's in. I thank him for his effort and contributing to the teams win total(what ever it will end up being). But a experience backup who is not such a enormous drop off athletically from AR5 who can move and throw deep is needed, among other team needs. Hopefully, he'll do ok the rest of the way for a team to pay him more to compete for a starter job.....or just pay him more than the colts are willing to, which shouldn't be too hard. LoL

I think with Minshew at QB, sometimes some great playcalling goes by the wayside. We constantly have open receivers that he just doesn't see. I definitely agree with needing to get Downs more involved again.

What I think Steichen meant was he though the defense was.'overdue' for a stop. :funny:

  6. Yeah the Yankees are back.

    We got Soto!!!

And added Verduego, and a defensive CF.

Yanks are reportedly very interested in a standout pitcher from Japan which would be a big addition to their starting pitching.

I will be renewing my subscription to MLB Extra Innings AND purchasing a new Yankee cap.

They have surpassed expectations for sure. I had this class pegged as a bust myself but looks like I may have to eat crow on that one and I’m glad I was wrong

I liked this years Top 4 QB class and felt that at least three would make it. I'm also not as down on Bryce young as most others. I think in the proper circumstances he may turn out to be a serviceable QB.

I was very ecstatic AR5 fell to us and that Ballard selected him and feel Levis will be a good QB too.. I'll also be curious to see how Hooker does and if the QBs from Georgia and TCU hang around as backups.

It almost makes guys like Peyton, Tom, and Rivers look that much more amazing. Their durability was off the charts.

I wouldn't say "durability" but rather having good line of scrimmage knowledge and knowing quickly which receiver to throw to before the pass rush got to them. They were more cerebral than athletically durable imo.

Ballard still needs a QB, and with Richardson getting knocked out of almost every game he played, he needs to keep swinging at QB on some level.  First round?  No.  A little later or in free agency?  Yes.  I would keep adding.

I don't think we still need a QB(at least hope not), just need for him and coach to play smarter and call less plays that puts him in danger. I do think it would be smart to have a backup on roster with similar mobility and arm strength so the playbook doesn't drastically change if AR5 gets hurt.

This is a very puzzling question because on one hand the colts have won 4 in a row (should be 5 and 6 out of 7), but is this a team maturing before our eyes or are the colts beating opponents we should beat? Lets break it down.

What has changed from years prior?

As cliché as this sounds, I think the biggest change started in the locker room. The years with Reich, it just seemed like there were always issues festering with no accountability and you saw it on the field. The team eventually just stopped caring and you show it year after year. The play suffered time and time again. You look at Shane, hes had to deal with all the JT drama, losing Richardson early in the season, the consistent injuries on the line both offense and defense and yet the team doesn't look lost. Hes kept them together and thats something you just didn't see from Reich. When things were going wrong, they stayed like that. Shane has taken this team and given them something I don't think they've had in the coaching for a long time, confidence. That no matter what the problem is, they will navigate through it and get better. A lot of teams not having their best player and starting QB for the majority of the season would not have the success the colts have and yes can the offense play better? Of course, but they stay in games and make the plays when they matter most and I credit that to Shane and the culture hes building.

Who are we as a team?

Heres what I believe the colts were supposed to be and heres what I think the colts currently are. Richardson and Taylor were supposed to be the driving force of the offense. That was evident with how the colts were using Richardson before he got hurt and unfortunately we didn't get to see what Richardson and Taylor could be together this season. The defense has picked up were it left off last season. Creating havoc with the front and playing drop coverage in the backend. The biggest difference this year is, their not on the field as much because the offense can't move the ball. What this team is predicates on the situation and that is another thing you can say Shane does well. Unlike Reich, Shane isn't stubborn with his way of thinking. If something isn't working, he finds another way to make it work. I can't say the colts are a blank team that does x y z well because it seems like its something new every week. Defense is struggling, offense carries them until they can make tough stops. Offense is stalling? Defense keeps them in the game until they get going. Its frustration football, but its also beautiful at the same time because you just don't know what you're getting week in and week out.

    What are the colts?

In my opinion, the colts are a team maturing before our very eyes. The constant pass rush we've needed for so long has finally started to show up. The o-line is returning the form with new young players stepping up like Raimann, Fries, and Freeland. Players like Pitt who will know can be a star is playing like the WR1 we all know he is along with guys like Downs, Granson, Moss, and even Pierce this past week all making contributions to help Minshew manage the offense. All of this is coming together and even if we don't make the playoffs, the future of the colts is brighter then its been for a very long time. I can actually say for the first time since Luck retired, I have hope.

Were 7-5 in a season with a favourable schedule. I wouldn't read too much more into that. Were winning close games that have been lost in recent years, part of that is having a decent coach so far compared to who coached previously.

Hopefully it will continue, hopefully with a healthy AR5 and linear improvement the future will indeed be bright. But the NFL doesn't always work that way. Colts are currently above .500 and in the playoff hunt and that is reason for enjoyment, so lets just enjoy the current situation because in the nfl, especially teams like the colts, there's no guarantee what the future brings.

I remember in '95 we were a young talented team that came just one play from the Super Bowl. Two seasons later we were 3-13.

But the '95 season AND playoff run was most  enjoyable and one that some here will never forget. Maybe Minshew can play Harbaugh's role and do as well or even better. LoL

Pat on his show has repeatedly talked about how bad Reich let things get by 2022. Players late or completely missing meetings, taking bets, bad practices…

The culture was poisoned. No way around it.

Just shows how stupid the Panthers were in hiring him.......same organization that got rid of Cam and Christian McCafferty!

But to their credit they seen the mistake and Fired him in season.

  12. He's still well under .500 in his seventh season and has led the colts to two Top 4 overall(3rd &4th) draft picks with no division titles and only one playoff win. Wanting to hire Josh McDaniels and sticking with emergency hire Reich for so long, including a extension, aren't things to be proud of.....and neither were bringing in Wentz and Ryan.

Being in playoff hunt is breath of fresh air BUT we're only two games over .500 with a favourable schedule.

Colts fans have seen more Bad play than good with him in charge and he's fortunate he still has the gig, and he needs more wins in more seasons than this seasons current record of 7-5 before I crown him better than mediocre.

...that this team is in the playoff hunt.  Don't get me wrong, I love it and I hope it happens.

What makes it hard to believe is how ...mediocre (don't want to use the term bad) this team is.  Minshew is a roller coaster.  JT is out more than he plays, and except for MPJ we really didn't have another WR threat until yesterday.  Yes, Downs shows a lot of promise.

The defense is near the bottom in just about every important category.  Justifiably so, with the inexperience at CB, and missing Grove.  (But I love how Jones is playing, and Kenny is a stud).

I understand that the main reason we're in the hunt is because of the weak schedule, but you play who you play.  We seem to want to lose a little less that the teams we're facing, lol!

All that being said, I'm excited we're in the hunt.  I don't know how long it's going to last because I wait for that shoe to drop every game now.  But it's fun.

I felt it was time/turn for the colts to have a decent season which is why I predicted we and/or Houston would contend for the division or a wild card.

But despite only winning 4 games last year the team could have or should have won at least a few more. And when you add that '23 has upgrades at QB and just about any new HC would have been a  huge upgrade from last season, the improvement in record is explainable.

I feel pretty good in saying that AR will be 100% healthy coming into next year. His whole body should feel like a million dollars. Now he also has a little experience too in the NFL with the 4 games he played in which is bigger than a lot think. I am seeing him having a good year in 2024.

Your short changing him by a lot. I heard he's guaranteed like $34 million for his 4 year rookie contract. His body should feel a lot better than a mere million dollars. LoL

I do agree it’s hard to imagine this young, injured team winning 6 in a row. But; there is no reason we can’t beat Pittsburg. Our line is playing well & they aren’t that great offensively. We should have Stewart back 100% healthy & ready to go as well. He’ll have the Bengals game to get back into the swing of things

I agree the Steelers aren't great and in fact I think they are less than mediocre, especially their QB and offense. On paper and the eye test I would say the colts are better.... But the Steelers have "other" things going for them besides talent AND historically the colts have only beaten them like two or so times in the last half century!

I don't think the colts need to win 6 in a row. If they can be 8-6 after the Steelers game they have a decent shot at a wildcard, which is why I think the titans & Bengals game are very important.

Regardless, it would have been nice for colt fans if AR5 didn't get injured and they could have had him and JT for the entire season.

I kinda find it funny how much the majority on here worshipped JMV when compared to Dan Dakich and others. However, when he switched to a more negative, realistic viewpoint the last couple years, people turned on him. People don't want a good sports media analyst necessarily; they just want someone that shares their viewpoint that has a voice.

I live far away from Indy but it seems they like voices that paint a rosey  picture of their team and management.
