I kinda find it funny how much the majority on here worshipped JMV when compared to Dan Dakich and others. However, when he switched to a more negative, realistic viewpoint the last couple years, people turned on him. People don't want a good sports media analyst necessarily; they just want someone that shares their viewpoint that has a voice.

I live far away from Indy but it seems they like voices that paint a rosey  picture of their team and management.

  2. Levis is a rookie and green BUT he is mobile and has a lot of arm talent. I haven't seen him in theIr last games but what I saw in earlier games is he's well capable of taking advantage of a soft secondary that may concentrate more on stopping Henry than their passing game.

The key is stopping Henry without leaving their receivers wide open, especially the very talented Hopkins.

JMV often says the colts organization usually takes one step forward and then two steps back.

So I guess he probably thinks this is the time they take some steps back:thinking: Lol.

With the Steelers coming up I think it would be satisfactory to be 8-6 after these next 3 games. But I wouldn't be surprised if they were 7-7 or 6-8 and being out of the top 7 seeds..

The games against Tennessee and a Burrow-less Bengals are very important to win(for playoffs because I doubt they beat Pittsburgh) but are far from gimmes.

There are still plenty of tickets out there. I bet the stadium will be 50/50 fan wise, which is sad. I haven't been to a game in 10 years. Makes me want to go and get a bull horn and shout every time the Steelers get ready to hike the ball chuckling homer simpson GIF- I hate the team, they won 4 SBs in the 70's, before half their fan base was even born and these 20/30/40 yr olds claim to be Steelers fans living in Hawaii or Alaska lmao

I hate them more than I hate the pats, especially since Brady left.

I just hope minshew isn't injured when we play them and Lamar Jackson doesn't go down like Watson and Burrow......but still there will be refs no matter what LoL.

He will probably be just like all the other running qb's. He will win a few games a year, just enough to miss the first 15 picks in every draft, and will have the fans every year wanting to see more. Welcome to mediocrity! You better sign minshew to a long term deal quickly!

.....and YOU THINK minshew will raise this team above mediocrity??? haha

We can never have nice things. Makes it hard to have interest in the team. If it isn't drama, it's injuries.

For me its a Red Flag. The team has won a few games in a row and climbed in the playoff picture with a some what favorable schedule ahead( no opponent is truly easy for them) and our Best player suddenly comes up with a potentially serious injury. How many and for long are the football gods going to place hurdles for this team to go over? Who's next, Pittman....our backup QB Minshew???

Its a downer for sure but not as deflating as losing AR5 was.

I'll quote all three of you at the same time. Levis has fallen back to Earth, so if we dare him to throw, then we have a good shot at winning this game. We'll see how the Titans respond if we go all-out to defend the run. They do have Chig and Hopkins still as options.

Hopefully Levis continues his regression but the secondary will need to cover Hopkins better than it just did Evans.....and then there's Henry.

Your dislike for him goes too far.  We are better with him and his contract didnt hurt the team.  I am leery of giving too much to a back but he didnt get that here and its not for too long

    Yes,

Colts are MUCH better with him, as would any team would be.

Wow. That's awful. I am not a proponent of firing coaches in fewer than 3 full years.

Who will want to work for this owner? The Athletic put out a list of names. The Lions OC Ben Johnson was the first one listed. Why would he want to go there? I read that the Bears are interested in the same head coach. Why would he choose the Panthers over the Bears who may select another top QB. Or the Chargers.

    Other names listed were

    Eagles OC Brian Johnson,

49ers DC Steve Wilks (why would he want to go there??),

    Jim Harbaugh,

    Bill O'Brien,

    Bill Belichick,

    Texans OC Bobby Slowik

    and some Panthers assistants.

    https://theathletic.com/5093608/2023/11/27/carolina-panthers-coaching-candidates-david-tepper?source=user-shared-article

    Bill Belichick maybe??

Former Panthers TE Greg Olsen is also interested.

There will plenty who will want the gig....... But none elite or Big Name coaches like for most other low end franchises.

  9. I didn't click the link so I didn't watch the interview BUT did catch some of it surfing YouTube with Stephen A.

Of course Stephen A. & co. had their take and I think Irsay responded to suing him. Lol

Why rehash something that was 10 years ago AND why do the interview in the first place???

Nothing good was going to come from this and don't understand why his advisers(if he has any) let him tweet and make public statements. I realize he's a grow man and likes attention but there should be someone to advise him that he listens to. If there isn't I'll volunteer for the job for a guaranteed contract of like a million or two per year.....much less than he paid frank.:funny:

  10. First coach to be fired in back-to-back seasons let alone in season!

He should never have been hired but that's why they are the Panthers.

A impatient meddling owner who knew he made a mistake and whoever in charge of selecting Bryce young was a mistake, especially seeing how Stroud is lighting up the league and how AR5 looked and also Levis. I think Young will be a serviceable QB but not with someone like Reich in charge and maybe get away from the Dysfunctional organization that drafted him.

It was a good 24 hours for me as the colts won and currently the 7th seed and Reich getting embarrassed being let go in season after only 11 games there.  haha As most of you know I'm not a fanboy of Frank and the criticism he got from me and others was warranted, though I know he has fans in this forum and talking heads.

Bottom line is the colts are better off without him as will be the Panthers.....and having a guaranteed contract of $9mil annually isn't exactly devastating to him and his bank account.

My advice to him is stay away from coaching and enjoy your millions.

  11. I caught the end and seen that Michigan needed to run the clock out to seal the victory AND they did with like 3 or 4 straight first downs by just handing the ball off(I think there was only 1 pass). Ohio St seemed to be in base defense and wasn't selling out to stop the run. The announcer even said they need to take a chance and have some run blitzes to try and get the ball back for the offense. I'm certainly no expert in X's & O's, especially defensively, but I agreed with the analyst who didn't agree with the the defensive play calling.

If you go on-line you’ll likely see four front runners.   The top choice appears to be Washington.   Other choices appear to be Dallas,  Tampa and the LA Chargers.

One story I read said the new owner of Washington is good friends with the son of Robert Kraft, which may make a trade between the two teams easier to pull off.

New England will want to trade BB and get compensation for losing him.   Lots of moving parts and this could get very complicated.    But this is the latest I’m reading.

I don't think Kraft will fire his partner in crime UNLESS he has a Big Fish to replace him.

And I heard Belichek say the only other place he'd care to coach for is for the Giants.

I'm not feeling sorry for the pats.....in '24 they will have a hot shot QB (maybe Caleb Williams) and either future HOF coach Belichek or a Big Fish like Harbaugh as HC.

The talking heads will sure have plenty to talk about. haha

  13. In a earlier interview she talked about what she did to Erin Andrews and Erin Andrews said she does the same thing. She said she didn't like the comments the coach said and didn't want to repeat what he said because that would be "throwing him under the bus". So instead of doing her job for her network employer and report what the coach said she decided to protect him from his own words. .....what a Angel LoL.

Every word out of their mouths and in general all sideline reporters shouldn't be taken seriously.

I wonder how Amazon is feeling spending Billions to broadcast Thursday games and the face of the broadcast has No Credibility.

Like Peter King said the public increasing questions the NFL's credibility and Charissa goes and throws gas on the fire!

Imo, she needs to be fired and people need to also look into Erin Andrews statement.

  14. Like I've said previously, its often hard to evaluate rookies when they go to a "bad situation/organization" and Bryce Young also has the misfortune of being a rookie with not only joining a mostly dysfunctional organization but also has frank Reich as his coach. That's a lot for a shorter and some what less gifted athletically QB compared to others at the position.

If he's lucky, Reich will be replaced and a good supporting cast will be implemented around him in '24 and a proper coach will coach him up instead of being dumbed down. But we are talking Carolina here, so what are the chances a good competent coach is brought in???

I am staying away from that game betting wise. Browns are starting a rookie is why. Having said that, the Browns are at home and have a great defense. That will be an interesting game because Pitt's offense is pretty average.

If Pitt's offense improves ten fold I still don't think it improves enough to be average. haha

But still expecting a win over the brownies.

We still play the Steelers luckily so we can make up ground on them. I hope the Browns beat them tomorrow.

Just top of my head I think the Steelers have beaten the colts like 90% of the time..... and that included  QBs like Jones & Manning. I'm not betting that Minshew reverses the trend. LoL

As far as the brownies playing them tomorrow, I plan on making a sizeable bet on the Steelers moneyline......but the close line does raise a red flag to me. And its not like it's the last game of the season and its a do or die game for the Steelers..... There are plenty of weeks left.

But still I'm going with Pittsburgh but haven't decided on  how much to bet.

FWIW, I doubt the QBs dropping like flies in their division (Watson,Burrows) is meant for outside division teams to benefit, like the colts, over the Steelers, an organizational favourite of the football gods.

I just hope Lamar Jackson doesn't go down as well.
