Fernea is out of call ups after this so if they plan to use him next week he will need to be put into this spot after tomorrows game. We have no back up slot so this may be the route unless they want to see tomorrow and if dont like the final look they elevate Jaydon Mickens instead.

From a team perspective as far as talent Ogletree was promising and showed glimpses but hadnt done a lot with it. Only played 356 snaps (Granson-420, MAC-365,mallory-148) his snaps likely go to Mallory who has seen a big upticks last 4 weeks and has been very well. A lot of squads carry 3 TE so this will bring us back down to 3 and we likely see a plyer from another position elevated as opposed to our PS Tight End Jordan Murray (Could even be Juwann Winfree as we need WR depth and he has already used his max p.s. elevation. Next season hoping Woods rebounds but we just dont know. Granson will see his same role, Mallory likely becomes TE 1 (As was stated him and Granson are kinda similar as neither is a physical blocking TE,Mallory has better height and catching radius) and a vet is probably added (Adam Trautman type) if MAC is send packing.

If you count Baltimore days then Karl Douglas was drafted in 3rd round to succeed Johnny U in 1971 (3rd round) lasted 1 season and was cut......ended up in CFL and later USFL.....not often a 3rd round is cut in 1 year with no snaps. Luckily club drafted Bert Jones soon after

Pagel was drafted to be a back up though and beat out Art (8-1 odds that would happen...lol) who was 1st round pick. I liked Mike he was not good but did give his all and spent time in the film room...

We kinda know what Thomas has, Denbow is an unknown...not sure what is the right way to go with season on the line but think they stay with Thomas out of the gate. Henry Black was just brought back BUT he was cut for a reason......no word on Marcel Dabo our International player

Thing that concerns me honestly is how many time he has his hands on the ball but fails to bring it in, doesnt matter who is throwing it in that situation he has not brought it in like I had hoped he would by now. Hope it improves but think we need to bring in serious competition for the spot.

I think as he continue to get healthy will be the Leonard of old, now is big money for a LB the way to go in today's NFL ? Likely no, need big money at Edge spot and shut down corner instead. Its been said many times our team has / had big money at position not as vital. Leonard gone helps that in future BUT sure hope big money isnt pumped into Franklin's contract that would put us back in the same boat.
