I have to give Grigson credit. When something is broken, he really does something about it. Whether it works or not, we will see. But at least he is trying! Bill Polian is a HOFer and I love the guy. But it would drive me crazy that we always had problems with the DLine and OLine and so often little was done to fix it. Grigson is rolling the dice and dramatically changing everything. I hope it works out!

Will be very interesting to see who is cut this year... 6 or 7 I say we keep
1. RJF
2. Redding
3. Chapman
4. Franklin
5. Moala
6. Matthews
7. Hughes
Agree or disagree?
I think you underestimate Nevis.I would swap Nevis for Matthews
1. RJF

7. Hughes

Don't underestimate the guys up front when evaluating ILB. Ray Lewis we very good with Saragosa in front of him. Once Goose was gone, his numbers went down. When Ngata came in, Lewis's numbers got better again. I think Freeman and Angerer are two very good linebackers. Not prime Ray Lewis, but very good. If they have three big, strong DLineman in front of them, it will make a HUGE difference in performance.

I like your list, but I don't see Delone Carter being cut. He isn't Edgerran James, but he is a good short yardage back. If he has overcome his NFL fumbling (He wasn't a fumbler in college), he can be good.
I HOPE we cut McGlynn, Sowell, and Sergio Brown. Linkenbeast, you never know with him. He can suck and some times he takes over games, hence the name!

I really don't get the number concern. I think we often act like the Colts came into the NFL in 1998. Very good players have used numbers that have been reused. We can't suddenly that ever good player over the last 15 years should have their number retired or not worn. There is so many Baltimore Colts they could have done that with beyond what has already been done.
-
I hate that Delone Carter has had the fumbles issues and injuries. Because he really can run. He is one of the few Colts RBs I have seen over the years that almost always gets positive yardage and moves the pile when he hits it. Addai aka Pat Pat would get dropped in the backfield so often it drove me crazy. If Carter would improve his pass blocking and catching, he would be a good fullback.

Pat Angerer is a great name for a linebacker.
But, really, how do you top Dick Butkus??? Fair Hooker was a funny name.

I like the trade. I was really pulling for Jerry. But it just seems his game is a straight ahead speed rush. I had a feeling after the draft, he might not make the cut as OLB. So trading him now gives us another young inside linebacker who might stick that has some bulk.

Grigson showed me something. Even though he paid some nice money for Satele, he drafted another center this year. That being said, I don't think there is any guarantee that Satele makes it to the 1st game of the season. I, too, believe Shipley was the better center last year. Shipley also played guard in a pinch. So it makes more sense to have Holmes and Shipley as the centers, and they both play guard. Satele's days are numbered, IMHO.

Castanzo at LT
Thomas at LG
Holmes at C
Thornton at RG
Cherilus at RTIt is quite amazing that essentially the entire line has changed in three years. These guys are big, hungry, but fluid. I can't wait to see Brown and Ballard pounding the ball up the middle.

Nice. A WR

Weird, but this is always a good site to track that

Can't think of names, but I would love to see a few developmental big WRs, a few more offensive guards, and a couple cornerbacks with height. If one of them hit, would be great.

I don't get why people are down on Donald Brown??? Much of it has to do with the line. Look at the 1995 Colts. Very good offensive line. Marshall Faulk did great. But when he got hurt, LaMont Warren did well. When he was out, Zack Crocett did well. Roosevelt Potts did well. Other than Faulk were any of them great RBs? No. I think Brown is better than ahy of them save for Faulk., There is no way any RB would succeed behind the line we have been rolling out. I feel confident that this year Brown will do very well because he will get more holes and the offense will not be telegraphed.

I absolutely LOVE this draft!!!! I was hoping we would come away from this draft with two interior lineman, a pass rusher, and another big body on the DLine. All taken care of. And the a Safeway and RB with great upside. If we can grab a WR with the last pick, will be perfect!
-
Oh no! Mel Kiper said we could have gotten this guy in the 35th round!!!!!! The travesty!! Why didn't we draft Billy Bob Johnson??? Pro Football Weekly rated him as a 2nd rounder! ;0

Looks like a great pickup. Let him recoup a bit.
-
We can't get a pick for Freeny since we didn't "lose" him, we cut him..
We didn't cut Freeney. We didn't offer him a new contract. So he was a free agent we lost and we should get a pick next year for him. We cut Collie.
-
3-4 ends need to be big. Especially play the 5 tech. You are basically holding ground and tying up lineman to free LBs.
-
He projects to a 5-tech lineman. Hopefully the Colts get a 4th next year for compensatory loss of Freeney. So not that bad.
-
Here comes the Colts
-
Holmes can also play guard. He played guard his first year starting and I have seen some reports that he could project to guard. So another versatile lineman

Well, it is true that this is a passing league, but the teams that win the Super Bowl are the ones that run and stop the run better. As long as we are one dimensional, we will only get so far. A good oLineman and great QB make everything else flow.
One only has to look at the hated Patriots as an example. They have much talent on the OLine. So they have average running backs do well for them. They have average WRs do well for them. They do have good TEs. And a great QB.
Would Love This O-Line

I would be happy to see Satele and McGlynn shown the door.
