  1. Goff made the Super bowl with the Rams too... but I don't think this is a great reason to not draft a QB at 1. Superbowl winners are rare and really hard to get there to begin with. Then we start putting additional conditions(with the team that drafted them) and it's only natural for that list to be relaly short. If you think any of the QBs is amazing and has high chance to be a franchise QB - go get him. I don't mind that.
  2. The word seems to be that ATL might actually be trying to trade for Lamar Jackson... no idea if they will be able to do it, but yah...
  3. Here's the ballpark of what I think the trade with the respective teams would be: HOU: #1 for #2+#34+2024 3d IND: #1 for (#4 + 2024 1st) or (#4 + #35+ 2024 2nd + 2025 3d) SEA: #1 for #5 + #38+ 2024 1st DET: #1 for #6 + #49 +#56 + 2024 1st LVR: #1 for #7 + #39+ 2024 1st + 2024 2nd ATL: #1 for #8 + 2024 1st + 2025 1st CAR: #1 for #9 + #94 + 2024 1st+ 2025 1st Something like this...
  4. I'm not saying it won't happen. I'm saying I seriously doubt it happens before the league year starts. Teams are still evaluating those QBs. He wants a desperate team to make a desperate offer... who knows... maybe one does this early. Just keep in mind - teams just had the opportunity to meet those players for the first time 2-3 days ago and those were 15-30 minutes interviews. Why would any team have a final decision on the QBs this early? They will go to their pro-days, they will bring them in for visits to spend serious time with them. The Colts just conducted 15 4-5 hour zoom interviews and 7 12-14 hour in person interviews before they picked their HC. Do we really think they will have their decision made on the future QB after a few 20 minutes meetings? This makes no sense to me. And I feel the same should be true for other teams too...
  5. IMO one possible reason is - he might want to try to get HOU's no. 12 to move to 2 and then open the bidding again for that pick.
  6. Poles is TALKING a ton. This should tell you something. What was the biggest haul in recent years any team got for top pick? It was Miami in the 49ers trade up to 3 to select Trey Lance. The 49ers gave up #12 + 2x 1st round picks+3d round pick. And NOBODY had any idea this trade was going on or the haul that it will turn out to be until the moment it happened. When you have legit interest with amazing offers flying around you don't need to hype up to the media how amazing offers you are getting. You talk behind the scenes with the interested parties and orchestrate the bidding war in private. What Poles is doing IMO is something else. He's not telling us about real offers, he's trying to CREATE those out of thin air. Good luck to him.
  7. I guess I could be wrong but here's my bet - it's all smoke. There will be no trade to no. 1 before the start of league year. Poles has somehow made everyone convinced he's just about to trade the pick, while NONE of the teams that should have interest should be in any hurry to make that deal before FA and before they've actually finished their evaluation of the QBs. It's all nonsense. This is my bet. If I'm wrong, so be it... but this IMO is what makes sense.
  8. What if they are not completely sold on any of them?
  9. I would be shocked if the Bears would make a trade with anyone before hearing our best offer, simply because we are in the exact position of the draft that combines both great value you can get AND a blue chip talent you can still draft at the position you trade down to. Poles would be crazy to make a trade before the Colts are ready to make their best offer. IMO all it should take is for Ballard to tell Poles "you know we might be interested, but you will need to wait for us to actually finish our evaluation of those players... and if you don't want to wait - good luck"
  10. Here are the full on-field workouts for both Richardson and Stroud:
  11. Because even after having 2 years of experience in pro-style offense with high level NFL coaches. He still is struggling with processing, reads and decision-making. For example, people are killing Richardson for lacking in that department, but he hasn't had anywhere near the level of coaching Levis has had and he's not that far off from him. This is one of the main things I worry about with Levis - it's not like he's super young. he's already had top level coaching, and he's still lacking... The pocket awareness is the second knock on him. And this is a serious one because he's the worst from all prospects in this class and this one actually translates between college and the pros. Players that are bad in this one usually stay bad. The Burrow comment is somewhat interesting, because interestingly enough Burrow IMO had a very good pocket awareness and movement, but he was getting sacked at a high clip. IMO what was happening with him was that he was extending plays and making a TON of plays out of structure in college... there wasn't a very big grey area between sacks and making big plays with him - he would either make a play or get sacked... and in only very few situation there would be a middling outcome - say throwaway or 2 yards gain... Levis can make plays out of structure too, but IMO he's nowhere near at the level Burrow was in college. Maybe he can improve in the league? I don't know. In a certain way he is. If he succeeds in the league, he will look like some version of poor-mans Luck. But Luck was amazing processor of the game from day 1. It was the reason he was given the responsibility of full field reads from day 1 in training camp, freedom to change plays before and after the snap, etc. And he had one of the best pocket presence/movements I've ever seen. In other words... the biggest worries for Levis were some of the strongest parts of Luck's game... so.. he does have a lot to work on.
  12. Bijan Robinson. Best player in the draft.
  13. BTW, Richardson had some really nicely placed balls on those deep outs too...
  14. This throwing session was supposed to be a showcase for the armstrength of Richardson(and it has been) but it was actually CJ Stroud who has stolen the show here. He's just an exceptional thrower of the football with incredible accuracy and ball placement.
  15. Not that it's surprising but Richardson didn't even try hard for those... just flick of the wrist... 60 yards... easy!
  16. BTW, the fans in the stands definitely have their favorite QB. It's Stroud by a huge margin.
  17. Stroud looks SO GOOD throwing the ball. I love it.
  18. I personally wouldn't trade a future 1st for ANY of the QBs in this draft. They all have some serious issues and I don't think we are close enough to risk giving up high pick next year for any of them.
  19. If passing is all he gave you, then 60% is not good enough. But if he supplements that 60% with 800-900 rushing yards and if the thread of him as a runner gives your RB higher efficiency, then he might bring enough value, even if he's not high level passer.
  20. Hurts has developed as a passer(and he's still not high level pocket passer BTW) but he was not that in the beginning. He completed 52% of his passes in his rookie year. And the Eagles offense was still better with him than with Wentz. And yes - you would still need to give him weapons... just like the Bills gave Allen one of the best receivers in the league in Diggs, just like the Eagles gave Hurts Smith and Brown, just like the Bengals gave Burrow his buddy Chase. Drafting a QB like RIchardson doesn't absolve you from bringing in other dynamic weapons to help and enhance your QB. There is no question AR is the biggest risk in this draft. But IMO with QBs, we need to chase the ceiling. The ceiling is the most important thing with the QB position. I don't care about the floor, unless it's accompanied with high ceiling too.
  21. He's 3 months out of ACL surgery. Probably not...
  22. IMO the biggest issues with him are with his footwork and mechanics. If you think this can be fixed, this almost certainly will hugely improve his accuracy.
  23. I think Ryan is too expensive to be AR babysitter... And I'm not quite sure how much he would be of help when it comes to actual play. They are very different types of QBs. He might help him as a role model about how to prepare, how to carry himself and what attitude he should have in the building, etc... but I feel like we can get a good mentor/bridge for cheaper. Hell even Jacoby is probably going to be cheaper and better than Ryan at this point.
