My thinking with bridge QBs is ... it doesn't matter. Because it's not about the bridge, it's all about the young guy. The bridge is just something to get you to your destination(the young guy being ready to play). And while we are fielding a bridge QB we are not really contending so... again - it doesn't matter if he's the 20th best QB in the league.. .or 25th or... 35th... so I would lean towards not paying a ton for that QB. I feel like Minshew probably would fit best in this category - good enough to play and actually pass the ball to your receiver, but at the same time probably cheap enough to let you use some creative accounting for when the young guy is ready.

For whatever it's worth, I absolutely agree with him. I do NOT knock Bryce Young for his decision. It's the smart thing to do and he seems to have good advisors in his corner.

If ceiling is the ultimate goal, I don't think there is much question about what QB you have to take. If you want safety/quick readiness/low risk... then there are other options.

I would be absolutely shocked if they trade the pick this week. I don't see it happening. Teams usually want to have free agency behind them, be able to get all the medicals of the QBs, be able to have them on official visits and private workouts, be able to freaking TALK to them before they give up a haul for the opportunity to draft one of them. That's why usually those trades happen much later: - Rams trade up to 1 for Goff - April 14th - Eagles trade up to 2 for Wentz - April 20th - Jets trade up to 3 for Darnold - March 17th - SF trade up to 3 for Lance - March 26th I guess the closest anyone has gotten is Washington trading up to 2 for RG3, which happened on March 10th... but again... this one happened 2 weeks after the end of the combine and RG3 and this was much more of a no brainer pick than this year's QBs are...

Oh they very well could. For example, his height is listed at 6'4" ... it's very possible he's like 6'3.5" College websites very often give better numbers for their players than the real ones...

Where was he timed? Same place that measured him at 6'0" 196? Do you think he will run at the combine? And if he does, what do you think he will run?

Young is not faster than Levis and Richardson.

Yep, I expected this. Bryce Young wins nothing by throwing right after Anthony Richardson or Will Levis. His arm will look very underwhelming compared to those other 2... Now Stroud throwing is interesting. His arm is better than Young's, but still ...

I propose a ban on this Ben Devine character here. Everything he does is such an obvious attention grab and misrepresentation of what various analysts and reporters are saying...

I'm not 100% certain the Raiders are going with a vet. For example - there are not many available vet QBs better than Carr and they let Carr go... IMO they would either get Rodgers or maybe go to the draft too? But I have no idea what they really are thinking behind the scenes and what their plan is...

Jeremiah said Bryce Young was 192 days ago and will be aiming to be over 200 at the combine. Let me ask those with better knowledge of nutrition and muscle building - how exactly is he going to gain healthy, sustainable 10 pounds in a week? IF this is indeed true, it's such a scam.

I won't mind it. If Ballard and Steichen think he's the best guy and think they can turn him into a franchise QB, I would absolutely support that pick. But I think it's important to have realistic expectations about what Bryce Young will look like in the NFL. IMO he will be much closer to Tua than to Hurts(as a style of play... he might be better than Tua or Hurts)

I'm sorry but I just don't see it. Young is not a runner. He runs out of necessity. Here are his rushing stats for the 3 years in Alabama: 2020: -23 yards 2021: 0 yards 2022: 185 yards Hurts is having 700-800 yard rushing years in the NFL and was floating around 1000 yards pers season in college. They are completely different types of QBs.

Eagles' whole offense is based on Hurts' ability to run the ball. Hurts ran 10(TEN!!!) designed runs in the first half of the SB alone. Young cannot do that. On the other hand Young is really great at some of the things Hurts struggles with even at this stage of his career - processing, vision, anticipation... both are playmakers but Young does his damage as a passer out of structure, while Hurts does a lot of his damage as a runner and their offense, including their passing offense is based on the threat of him running the ball.

He is better college player than the rest for sure. Is he a better prospect? It depends on how much weight you put on his... weight and height... and whether what he does translates well to the next level. If you don't think his size is all that important, he probably should still be clearly no. 1. Let me put it like this... if he was 6'2" 215 he'd be consensus no. 1, no question asked... hell... if he was that, I would imagine the Bears would probably just trade Fields and pick him.
