  1. Cowboys always wear white at home for some reason. I assume it was just because it was early August and hot.

I *believe* the Cowboys wear white at home more for luck than anything else. They traditionally wore the white ones due to heat (like others have previously stated), but they wore the dark jerseys at home a few times and they lost some big games and those jerseys haven't been seen in Dallas for about 20/30 years or something like that.

  2. He will have plenty of opportunities down the line i'm sure. He can do whatever he wants and I will respect that....unless he starts doing underwear commercials.

I think a Gillette commercial with him shaving his neck beard and then having a beautiful women take notice would do a great spot lol.

We're talkin' some MAJOR shaver in trying to control that neck beard!!

  3. We aint worrying about "Bob" griffin lll, I won't call him rg3 till he prove it and earn that name

You now have to "earn" a short of your own name?? I mean, really, it's not like he's got a name like Smooth G3 or RG III Rings or anything like that. I think this is a bit over the tiop criticism, in my opinion.

i don't see too much wrong with the endorsements of athletes just out of college. Sports companies will want projected superstars to sign contracts early in hopes they will return dividends sooner rather than later (and will hopefully be less expensive in the long term).

As for A Lu...whoops, he hasn't earned that yet...Andrew Luck, I think his attitude is refreshing and it shows what makes him somewhat unique. Not better, just somewhat unique, i think.

  4. I think the fumbles last year were a fluke especially when you see how he almost never fumbled in college. He had a great play where he jumped over the pile into the endzone and another play where he powered through the front 7 for a 5-6 yard gain. Ball was secure and he looked good.

I'm going to go one step farther in agreeing with you by also attributing "coaching" to the reason he will do better this year. I saw most of be first half (albeeit in a bar a ways away from the screen) and i did notice guys were actually tackling instead of just trying to knock guys down by undercutting them. The fundamentals of lining up a guy and wraping him up has been lacking on this team - even as far back as Dungy.

Fundamental football may be back in Indy and it will result in better overall defense. ...my hope, at least. It will also help teach Carywr to hold onto the ball!!

  5. That was Darren Evans on the fumble. Carter was a beast.

Whew! Thanks for that. I don't expect Evans to make the team anyway ( though i still like his running ability). We need Carter ro be a beast this year but he has to prove he can hold onto the rock. Good to hear he was up to it yesterday!

  6. I only saw the first half but what i saw i liked - regardles of the opponent. From the updates i got of the second half it showed that the team played with a lot of consistency.

That in itself is enough to get excited about, especially when you consider this is the first game the coaching staff has worked together. There is a common theme that the players have bought into and it showed. Good job by Pagano.

They looked good today. Enjoy it tonight, review it tomorrow and correct the mistakes. We have a lot to build on - forget who it was we played against. We played on the same field and we took care of business. I am optomistic the team will get better and will compete well against the Steelers next week.

  7. so much to look for - complete change is rare, and this is IT.

I want to see Luck command the offense, make intelligent reads. How much time wil the OL give him? Can they open holes for our runners?

On D, can we finally get off the field on the first or second 3rd down??? How aggressive are the corners playing?

ST: can we get some positive yardage off our return teams? Who is going to want to make the team, who's going to make an impact with their time on the field?

Should be a lot we can build off from this first game! So pumped!!
