Actually I got it from WaPo

This?  (see how I provided a link to the source?)

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/debate-over-peyton-manning-and-hgh-still-bubbles-years-after-al-jazeera-documentary/2018/06/07/1b86bcac-687f-11e8-9e38-24e693b38637_story.html

That's basically an explanation of a bungled investigation by Al Jazeera, which I mentioned.

I also mentioned that it seems you are giving the benefit of the doubt to Brady for Deflategate, while not doing so for Manning or Luck.  And THAT was the main point of my post.  You don't think Brady cheated, but you think Manning and Luck did.  Very interesting.

Those shipments of HGH were totes 100% for his wife

Would you mind providing the source for the Manning HGH story?

What?  It was a debunked Al-Jazeera story?  Oh ok.  Yet you believe it, while not believing Brady might have cheated because you "know a little more about physics than the average bear"...

Seems kinda weird that you're willing to give Brady the benefit of the doubt for something he got suspended for, while not giving that same benefit of the doubt to Manning or Luck, who were never suspended for anything.  :dunno:  Because you "see the world outside your head better than a lot of people" or some such nonsense...:funny:

Offense:  LT, C, and WR.  C because that's an interior position who can spread his talent to both sides if needed.

If there was an exceptional TE, than I think he would be more impactful than an exceptional WR.

Defense:  3T, SS, ILB.  I see both the 3T and the SS as having to be equally good against the run and the pass.  Having exceptional talent at those positions really helps a D, IMO.  ILB....or a WILL...simply tackles everything, running game and short passing game.  A CB could be very important in our old 34.  Vontae was a shut down corner who also was able to peel off and support the run game very well.  I see other positions on defense mainly used to impact either the run game or the passing game, but not both so much as these other positions.

:agree:  It's like you read my mind!

Blindside protection, do-everything center, and do-everything pass-catcher, giving the QB time and freedom to read and exploit the defense.

Interior pass-rush, do-everything LB, and do-everything SS, making the defense really strong throughout the middle of the field.

I'm not too surprised by the way this has gone, but I think it's very interesting.

I loved this.  You should do more of these.

Like if you want an elite offense, outside of QB, what 3 positions would you target?

Or if you want an elite defense, outside of edge pass-rusher, what 3 positions do you target?

  5. Apparently Packers LT Bakhtiari complained to the refs about not getting hands-to-the-face calls earlier in the game, which led to the refs keying in on it later in the game.

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001066235/article/david-bakhtiari-talked-to-refs-about-hands-to-face

He pulled a "Brady" haha.  But seriously, this kind of stuff (and all players AND coaches bark at officials all game long) is just another reason to get mistake-prone human zebras that can have their decision making influenced off the field and replaced with cameras.  A handful of cameras per ref won't miss the things the refs are always missing, and there won't be humans on the field for players and coaches to waste time and energy trying to lobby for a call.

We just need one glorified ball-boy that follows the ball on each play, blows the play dead, then places the ball for the next play and blows the whistle to announce any penalties caught by the cameras.  No decision making, just doing what the speaker in his ear tells him to do.

In the Falcons Patriots SB anybody with a brain, common sense and the desire to win a championship runs the ball in that situation, go back and watch the game. It makes absolutely 0 sense, not human error. Pre determined.

So you think the Falcons coaches and players were in on losing that game?

Just finished watching the Pack/Lions to ight and the officials cost the Lions the game. Two calls against the Lions DE #90 for hands to the face showed clearly his hands were on the opponents pads.

The same ref made both calls.  He needs to retire, cuz his eyes don't work so good anymore.

It seems relevant with some of the talk about how to construct a roster, and how important QBs are.

I think because of this, everyone is going to pick QB, and then OT to protect the blindside basically by default.

It's interesting to see what comes after that.

Again, you fail to understand what I said.  IOW, you move the goal posts, then attack.  Is that a deliberate tactic?

I don't want them exclusively pointing out what is wrong with my opinion using either one word or one page.

I don't point out why people are wrong.  Especially since its usually just an opinion.  I offer my opinion, and sometimes explain it, but often have to defend it.  I spend more time defending my opinion by people like you than actually supporting it the first time I give it.  I usually don't point out "what's wrong" with others' opinions unless I get caught in a goalpost moving discussion before I realize it.

So you just go around the forum pointing out what's wrong with other's opinions.  Your laughing response seems to indicate that's what we do here on this forum.

This is a forum for opinions.  It's either start a thread with your opinion, and then go from there (have you ever created a thread, btw? you should try it sometime) or provide your opinion as a counterpoint in a thread that someone else started.  Either way, there's a discussion of differing opinions, and your skin has to be thick enough to handle criticism of your opinion.  If you don't want people attacking your opinion, maybe don't put it on the internet, just tell it to your dog/cat, or pillow, or wall.  :dunno:

You have some good takes on some topics, but typically have a very individualistic opinion that many people disagree with, maybe even find laughable.  Don't be surprised, when you repeat those opinions in multiple threads, that the same people that disagree with those opinions repeatedly chime in about how wrong your opinion is.  Except instead of re-hashing why they think it's wrong and making a thread unnecessarily long, they will succinctly call you out.  :hat:

I personally try to have some fun with it.  Sometimes you're a good sport, sometimes not.  If I've been disrespectful, I'm sorry about that.  :shake:

I didn't say they were two of the best picks.  I said I thought they were two of the best picks.

Did you mean to ask.  "Why did you think Wilson and Basham were two of Ballard's best picks?

Or do you not realize when you are moving the goal posts, which is pretty much always?

Oh for pete's sake, do we all need to put "IMO" before and after everything we type on here?  I was literally asking you for your opinion for once, no need to get snippy about it...

If we're going to be this nitpicky, then did you mean to say that you "thought they were two of his best picks in that draft" at the time, but don't anymore?

So yes, I guess I meant to ask:  Why did you think they were two of his best picks in that draft at the time?  Just honestly curious.

What I hate are the comments that criticize another's comments as the sole basis of the quote.

So when you disagree with someone, you can type out multiple paragraphs, but when someone disagrees with you, you just want them to type "I disagree" instead of pointing out what they think is wrong about your opinion...

Got it.  No double-standard there...  :funny:

  12. I know I'm getting ahead of myself here looking at the offseason when we're only six weeks into this season, but I wanted to talk about improving the DLine.  I know a lot of people have been talking about QB and WR as big needs, and I get it, but I want a team that can go into Foxborough and win in January.  AKA a team that can run the damn ball and play some damn defense.

Have you guys been paying attention to that 49ers DLine?  DeForest Buckner, Arik Armstead, Dee Ford, Nick Bosa, Solomon Thomas... that unit is big, physical, and deep.  That's what I want.  Fearsome Foursome.  Purple People Eaters.  Steel Curtain.

A great front-four will really make this defense work, and we can improve all across that front four.  You listening Ballard?  You said you were gonna build the trenches.  Build the Wall!  And make Irsay pay for it!  :rawr:
