  1. Can we stop comparing every tall, white 34 end to JJ Watt? Watt is a physical freak

Get used to it.  JJ Watt is the current Gold Standard, so everybody is going to be compared to him.

All 32 teams are looking for the next JJ Watt, including the Texans, because you know what's better than having JJ Watt on your DLine?  Having TWO JJ Watts on your DLine.

  2. Nah, I'll take the SB winning coach regardless of what he talks about

Your wins do the talking, not you at a press conference

So you would sacrifice integrity for trophies? Good to know.  There is this team in the northeast that would love to have you as a fan...

  3. As much as I would like to see Andrew Luck FINALLY win against Tom Brady, I will be happy to beat a Brady-less pats team.

If Chuck can send BB home crying in week 6 because Brady got suspended 6-8 games, I will be very happy.

But, then again, I am just a jealous Colts fan who wants to beat BB and the pats 70-0.  And I want to do it WITHOUT cheating.  :shake:

  4. Of course he said that.  He also called him a "team guy", said he had "grit", and said he will "play his tail off".  Are we surprised?  I'm not.

Chuck is Chuck.  Love him or hate him, he is going to keep doing and saying what got him to this point.

I, for one, prefer Chucks' "coachspeak" to Belichicks' "coachspeak".  Belichick might be a better coach, but I would rather have Chuck, just like I preferred Dungy over Belichick.

    Caldwell... well, that's another story...

But Robinson is a rolling ball of something.  Nicknamed "Bowling Ball" for a reason.

  5. Really, it just boils down to beating the pats.  If we beat the pats, it doesn't matter if they run for 400 yds.  The pats were the only team to run over us, and they did it TWICE, but everyone focuses on our run defense because of those two games.

The Steelers threw the ball all over the yard on us.  The Cowboys actually used a nice balanced attack.  We did a good job of stopping both the run and the pass throughout the year, it was just those two games against the pats that has everyone freaking out.

If Dorsett helps our offense put up points quickly, and forces the other team to start passing more to catch up, we will most likely win, and the Dorsett pick is brilliant.  If our offense starts slow, and we have to play catchup while the other team starts running the ball down our throats, people will get out their torches and pitchforks and make their way to Grigsons' house in angry mob fashion.

  6. As soon as we drafted this guy, I immediately started looking up his numbers compared to Watt.  He is not as athletic as Watt, but he is slightly bigger.  He is not going to put up Watt-like numbers, or be the next JJ Watt, but he could be a lot like Justin Smith.

Although, to be honest, Justin Smith is one of those "country-strong" freaks of nature (probably used to bench-press cows for fun or something), and Anderson would have to hit the weight room HARD to get on Smiths' level.

On tape, Anderson just doesn't "pop" the way Watt does, but if he can demand double teams like Smith, then we got a "filthy" steal (as Mayock put it) in this draft.

  7. NEWSFLASH for everyone that hates our first round pick.  No matter who we draft/sign, we still have to compete against Bill Belichick.

Belichick is (probably) going to outcoach us no matter what.  We could have the most talented roster in the league and still lose to Belichick because (as much as I hate to say it) he is just that good of a coach.

Unless you want to pull a Bucs circa 2002 move and trade whatever it takes to the Patriots for Belichick to come be our coach, then get over it.

We have one of the most talented rosters in the league, largely due to Andrew Luck, and still get stomped by the Patriots.

Although... we've done it before (2006) and WILL do it again.  We will beat Belichick and get another Super Bowl.  He is human, and when he slips up, we will be there to take advantage.  Have faith and quit being so negative.

  8. Just imagine Andrew Luck with two TYs to throw to.  The secondary can't shift coverage to one side, they have to cover the whole field.

Leaves the middle/underneath open for Johnson and the TEs, and maybe, just maybe we can run the ball effectively on a two deep safety defense.  It will be beautiful.

We can get guys to help in the trenches in later rounds, as well as safety help.  Plenty of big boys in this draft, not that many Dorsetts...

    It's not the end of the world guys.  R E L A X

  9. Jets have Richardson/Wilkerson, arguably the best 3-4 DE tandem in the league, and draft Leonard Williams.  The Jets have many holes, most notably QB...

Broncos have Ware/Miller, a great OLB tandem, and TRADE UP to draft Shane Ray, who had an off-field incident THIS WEEK.  The Broncos have many holes, like TE, the trenches, and secondary...

In 2005, the Packers had Favre, a top 5 QB at the time, and drafted Aaron Rodgers.  They had many holes at the time...

But by all means, let's fire Grigson and burn the whole thing to the ground because we drafted the BPA and stacked strength on strength so that Andrew Luck has weapons.  God forbid a WR gets injured this year (Wayne in 2014) and we don't have the depth behind them to keep rolling...

  10. Personally, I like the pick.  Any team would kill to have two TYs on the same field with Andrew Luck on their team.  We got lucky with TY, and everyone knows it.  If we had drafted Dorsett in the third, like TY, everyone would be praising Grigs for being a genious.  He wasn't taking a chance this year and pulled the trigger in the first.

We can find big run stoppers and safety help in later rounds much easier than trying to get lucky with another TY.  That is the metric.  Defensive scheme guys are a dime/dozen.  Elite talent at the skill positions is worth first round picks every time.

  11. Everyone just R E L A X.  So we stacked strength on top of strength, so what?  We're not the only team to do so in this draft.  The Jets have arguably the best 3-4 DE tandem in the league with Richardson/Wilkerson, and who do they draft? Leonard Williams.  The Broncos have a great OLB tandem in Ware/Miller, and who do they draft? Shane Ray.

Go back a decade to the 2005 draft.  The Packers had a top 5 QB in Brett Favre, and who did they draft?  Aaron Rodgers.

Adding Dorsett to Hilton/Johnson/Moncrief/Carter makes 50 pts/game very possible.  Especially if we find some Oline and RB help in the later rounds of this draft.

Do we have a defense to prevent 51 pts/game?  I think so, and we have 6 more rounds to find big run stoppers (a lot easier to find than Dorsett-level talent) in this draft for all the "Pats gonna roll again" naysayers.

(Personally, I was hoping for Landon Collins or Malcom Brown with our 1st pick, but what do I know?  I'm a Tuesday Morning QB like the rest of you.  There is a reason none of us are making these decisions for the Colts...)

What if the Colts develop Moncrief and/or Carter into lucrative trades for future draft picks that end up leading to a Super Bowl?  Just R E L A X and let this play out...
