  1. I prefer we go after Robinson or Mathews for a big bodied replacement to Moncreif. If Mcdaniels wants another slot/speed guy I'd welcome Marqis Lee or Amendola but I'd keep Moncreif on a cheap contract as well if we went that route in FA.

I'm fine with that.   I love Wilks if we can get him.

I'm with you. I know most on here want Mcdaniels but my 1st choice is actually Wilks. I watched over 2 hrs of interviews,  press conferences and coaches mic'd up on our candidates last night. Wilks impressed me the most,  he's definetly a leader of men and has a great head coach presence about him. He's well respected and knows how to handle his players and the media. In one of his interviews he started talking about offense and even special teams. The reporter even mentioned that it was odd hearing that from a D coach. He said he keeps up with every unit bc he always wants to be ready if he needs to step in. Kris Richard sounded just like Pagano in everything I listened to on him, good with his players, very hands on but really bad in front of a camera or mic. Mcdaniels is very standoffish, very good coordinator and schemer but not a true leader of men (He's my 3rd choice). Vrabel is definetly going to be a head coach someday, well respected and relates well with his players but not sure he's ready yet. Toub my 2nd choice has alot of the same characteristics as Wilks.

Offense - Gore, with TY, AC, and a healthy Kelly being honorable mentions

Defense- Simon pre-injury, with honorable mentions going to Hankins and if healthy the following players: Hooker, Bostic, and Melvin.  Other guys on D I liked this year were Anderson (healthy he looked like he was getting back to his old self), Sheard, Mingo, Woods, Hairston, Desir and the past couple games I've been mostly impressed by Quincy Wilson.  Moore II (I hated initially) has been half-way decent recently, and it seems like A. Walker, Basham, and Stewart have all made progress throughout the season.

ST - Vinatieri still has it and I was very pleased with Sanchez (big shoes to fill w/ McAfee retired).

If we can get everyone back and keep them healthy, we shouldn't be too far away from having a good team here in Indy.  Unfortunately, several of our key players missed time due to injury this season (Anderson, Kelly, Melvin, Desir, Hooker, Bostic, Mewhort, Swoope, Moncrief, Geathers, Q. Wilson, Simon and Luck are a few that come to mind quickly).

That's a mighty big list of quality players missing time with injuries! Injuries to key players seems to be our kryptonite in Indy every year. I agree with a healthy Luck, money to spend on FA and high draft picks we SHOULD be a much improved team next season. Big key will be the quality of depth we end up with next year. Lord knows were going to need plenty of depth at every position the way this team goes down.

How do you know he didn't try to address it? It's very possible that he tried to sign a player but didn't want to overpay or the player went somewhere else. And when did Ballard say that? I don't remember that quote. I don't think he specifically said it would be good.

I also remember Ballard on a podcast making the statement that Grigson left him a good O-line.

I knew Ballard picked up a lot of "prove your worth deals" this last pre season. My question is of the guys we actually want to be Colts long term how many are signed for the next few years?  Guys like bostic, woods, etc.   I really like how bostic plays the game btw.

Bostic has been bad and should be easily replaced next year. Woods on the other hand needs to be here next year. He has been a great addition. Grigson sucked as a GM but was good at cap management. So the good thing is we should be able to sign/re-sign just about anybody Ballard wants.

You know I don’t get some people all summer people complained the Colts didn’t have a good back QB then as soon as the Colts get one it’s oh what can we get for him with a trade?

I'm with you, we get a quality backup QB for cheap and fans want to just trade away?  I'd like for them to hold onto Brissett for a year or two anyways. I'm fine with trading back in the draft but I wouldn't give up Brissett at-least until his contract year.

Cooter would be nice, he is an awesome offensive mind.

I could get behind that. He definetly knows how to run offenses. He could call the plays on O and eliminate Chud, who also needs to go... like yesterday. I'm sure he wouldn't take it but I'd like it if Chuck stuck around as DB's coach. I think he'd make a fine position coach or coordinator, he is just not head coach material.

  8. TY has torched the Titans every year since entering the league. They finally found a way to lock him down. The rest of the receivers have to step up in games like this. A la Moncreif, Doyle, Aiken, RBs... Brissett played good ball,  his receivers just couldn't catch a cold in a snow storm. I don't know the exact number of dropped passes but it had to be top of the league.

We just need Calais Campbell and Jalen Ramsey to tear their acls and we'll have a much better chance to win the division. :sarcasm:

Wishing we would've went after Campbell in off season. Dude has been a machine for the Jags. He's always been a good DL but so far this year... wow!

  10.  I'm not a fan of Chuck and I agree that we are thin on talent in certain areas. HOWEVER,  I blame the loss mainly on Chud once again. Running the ball up the gut wasn't working and long developing pass plays wasn't working, so what does Chud call? More running plays up the middle and long developing pass plays, ugh!! No 2nd half or 4th quarter adjudtments, just the same old plays. I felt bad for Brissett, he was getting killed behind our O-line. Compatent coaches with a week O-line call quick slants,  roll outs, short dump offs to RB's and TE's, etc., especially when being blitzed every time the QB drops back. Chud needs to go asap!

Started this thread w/ such negativity but had a change of heart & did a complete 360!  Realized there is NO use complaining & at the end of the day really happy to get the W.  Besides KC no real cut BOSS, so let’s do this Colts Nation!

I'm not following you.  14 vs 3? What's your point with the thread title?

I blame the offensive playcalling for letting them back in it.

I got on here to say the same thing. No complaint about the players from me today. Chud is the one I'm upset with. Play calling after half time was plain awful! Offensive play calling gave Brown's a chance to come back at the end.

  13. Like the Perry signing,  he was an excellent tackler/ run stopper at Ohio State. I could easily see him making the 53 man roster barring injury or poor performance via ILB.  I have no clue about Hazel, not sure what they seen out of him but they must really like him to sign him over our own wr's like JoJo and Bug Howard and then to bring him back. I'd like to see him in action though, definetly curious. He can't be any worse than Moncreif has been the past couple games.
