he's not gonna announce publicly if he's done signing FA. He actually said that even though they feel good that they'll continue looking at the market...
Oh, i know that. Just going off what he said.

Nice, very good team friendly deal. If he stays healthy we will get great value out of him. If not, no harm no foul. Good depth. If we can find a solid WR (Meredith) and a LB we will be set up good for the draft to go BPA.

Another thing to note:
It did not sound like Ballard is prioritizing on adding another receiver (through the draft or free agency). Seems content with Hilton, Rogers, and Grant as the main guys.
I felt the same way. I was a little disappointed to hear that he felt good about the WR depth with the mediocre signing of Grant. I was (am) really hoping for Meredith. I'd be good with our WR depth if we could get that done.

I have not read that anywhere.

I like Meredith alot, it was a shame he got hurt last yr. I hope we can get this done. I'd offer somthing like 2 yrs, 14 mil and see if Bears match.

I like the signing as everyone who read my post about him in an earlier thread would know. He is a good veteran that can help with our young OL. Now if we can bring back Mewhort on a "prove you can stay healthy" deal I think we'd be set up good on the OL for the draft.

Nice, happy to hear about Desir. He really came on last year before the injury.
-
Yes please!

He's 32 and coming off an injured year. However, I'm in the minority because I wouldn't mind this signing at all. Great locker room leader that has started every game he's played in for 3 different teams. He was also a team captain. I read an article where Anthony Lynn was stating how much they where going to miss him last year when he got hurt and that he was like a coach in the O-line room. IF (a big IF) they are healthy Id be happy to see Indy sign him and Mewhort to team friendly deals to compete.

If Chubb is still there at #6 I would run to the commissioner with the card. However, if he's gone I wouldn't mind a trade back and taking Davenport. I think he'll be a good player in the NFL but will need a little polishing. Chubb is NFL ready and an immediate day 1 starter.

Gaines sucks....but, he'll be cheap so Ballard will probably sign the scrub. Seems to be all about the bejamins with Ballard. Pay below average players average money but never pay top dollor for above average players.

At this point I'm not even so sure we're going to field a team this year. Our roster is hot garbage.
-
Meh, I'd much rather bring in Jordan Matthews or Crabtree for a visit.
-
What... didn't see that coming, SIGN THE MAN!!
-
That's awesome, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the reminder, it's been far too long since we've seen #12 making those big time plays! Can't wait to get him back out there healthy.

Strong hire!

I would like the Colts to sign one of the 4: Hyde, Crowell, Martin or Hill. I'd be happy with any 1of the 4. This would help us go with the best player available philosophy in the upcoming draft.
-
I would absolutely bring him in for a work out. He's had a couple years where he's been injured and/or suspended but both years he's played full 16 games he's had over 1400 yards each year and 2 pro bowls. One or 2 year highly incentive based salary.

I agree. Also this is a guy that has seen it all....been to 4 straight SBs and lost.....brought teams in college and pros back from the largest half time deficits to win....won a SB with a back up qb. I mean wow...what could happen that this guy couldn't talk to his players and lead them to overcome? Obviously it will come down to the x's and o's etc...but I have a peace about the hire that it will work out just fine.
He's also a man of Faith which means alot to me. I know that alone doesn't make him a good coach but should be great for the young guys coming in. He's a guy the players can look up to from a character standpoint.

If you look at Wikipedia it says Nick Sirianni is offensive coordinator of the Indianapolis Colts for what it's worth.

Hey all, been reading these forums for awhile. Finally decided to sign up. First I’d like to say I really appreciate all the knowledge offered in this forum. It’s the first place I visit for all news Colts. Now, onto the topic.
I’m partial to Toub myself, but unfortunately he doesn’t seem to be an option. Reich is definitely high on my list though. He comes from a strong coaching background and I’m thoroughly impressed with his fingerprint on the Eagles offense/Wentz/Foles. Not knocking Foles, but I think some undervalue what it takes to turn a backup to starter to Super Bowl MVP in a matter of weeks. Now, could have been DeFilippo, idk. But I’d put my money that Reich’s experience coaching Manning played a large role in the development of Foles.
I think a combination of Reich/Bevell will be a very pleasant surprise to us Colts fan.
Side note: I just read IndyStars article on our switch from a 3-4 to 4-3 and I must admit it’s got my hyped for what’s to come on the defensive side of the ball. I have big hopes for this team moving forward, and I have full confidence in Ballard’s ability to turn this team around.
Welcome to the board and nice write up. I'm alot like you in terms of this forum. I get on here daily but seldom post. I love this forum, if it's Colts related it is sure to be on here. I am also pulling for Reich, seems like a very intelligent man with alot of knowledge. Pair him with Bevell and a healthy Andrew Luck and our offense should be in great shape for the future.

My biggest concern with the switch is ILB. We need atleast 2 starters at the position via free agency or the draft. Our weakest position imo. Will the switch to a 4-3 put Gaethers in consideration for a switch to ILB or should he remain a SS? I would like to see Gaethers, Farley and Hooker on the field together.

I agree, he's definetly not done.
