This has a chance to get real ugly. As if it's not bad enough already... If Haeg and/or Webb go down we're left with Braden Smith and Glowinski! I was also looking forward to seeing Ridgeway, I hope we get an explanation for that one later.

Just happened today. Thanks. Dang Browns!

The lions release of DE Anthony Zettel intrigues me. Drafted in the 6th round by Detroit in 2016. He's 26 yrs old, 6'4" 270 lbs. He started all 16 games last yr and logged the most snaps on the team. He had 31 tackles, 6.5 sacks & 1 forced fumble. Matt Patricia is converting the team over to a 3-4 hybrid and doesn't feel Zettel is a good fit to play OLB. I think he'd be a nice addition, anybody else feel the same?

Not a good look for Pat or Grigson IMO.

Dear God....I feel for Andrew!

I hope we make a trade or get a decent right tackle after cut downs. Nobody is getting it done so far.

Did Braden Smith ever play Tackle in college?
Im not sure the exact number of games he played tackle in college but if you watch his Auburn film you'll see him lined up at right tackle quite a bit his senior year.

I was wanting Darkwa even before we had all the injuries. I think he would bring solid competition to our roster. Im on the fence about Inman, hes big, can play and he'd bring experience to the WR room. However, id kind of like to see what we got in KJ Brent & Fountain 1st. If nobody steps up after next couple preseason games I'd pull the trigger though.
-
Id be fine with them sticking with what we've got at this point. KJ Brent has been playing well during camp and Fountain should do alright with more experience. The 2 names I'd like to see signed are Darkwa & Breeland. We could use another body at RB and I'm afraid our corners are going to get carved if we don't get some help.

Quincy could not sniff the field last season, and it seems like people are giving him the benefit of the doubt. Blaming Pagano and the coaching staff for inept player development. I am not buying this argument. We've seen that coaching staff play guys that should not have been playing before, but had high expectations and hype. Guys like Trent Richardson and TJ Green for example. Quincy must haven been truly awful to not sniff the field under Pagano. Wilson could not beat out NFL journeymen for playing time. In 2018, an NFL 2nd round pick should be starting Day 1. Heading into his second season, Quincy should be the team's top CB, or at least a solid #2. If this year's training camp is any indication, Quincy has not improved, and does not look ready to start and contribute. It's taboo to rip Ballard, but he should be getting some heat for botching this draft pick. Ballard has ignored FA, and has gone all in on his drafting skills. When you go this direction, you cannot whiff on 2nd round picks.
Wow...

Good was a solid RT last year before injury. When he went down the right side of our line got much worse. If he's 100% going into training camp i could easily see him winning the spot. Regardless, we should have strong competition on the right side this yr between Good, Howard & Clark/Haag.

Breeland and Inman. The 2 areas of greatest need.
Exactly the same 2 guys I'd like to see signed. I believe we'll be ok at WR but we could really use a solid corner. I'd also really like another MLB with experience but we will have to trade or wait until cuts are made in order to get one, market is real thin in that area.

My top choices are Averette, Hurst, Jewell, Ballage, Crosby, St. Brown & Griffin.

Yeah, nothing new here.

Whichever one does NOT go to the Browns!

Wouldn't mind this. He's not an all star but he's reliable, he's played every game since entering the league. He'll never be a #1 WR but he's good for around 600 yrs and 4 or 5 TD's a yr. He's a clear upgrade from Moncreif when it comes to reliability but about even on production.

Haeg is better then Good at tackle js. Haeg just needed a better oline and strength coach really then he could really be something tbh
I've watch every game and Haeg has not impressed me a whole lot. He's a solid backup but I don't see him ever being much more than a slight upgrade to Joe Reitz but I hope I'm wrong. Good was by far our best RT before his injury IMO. However, as I stated in both my posts in this thread This Is Just My Opinion.

We will hopefully draft a starting guard and/or RT but if all these guys where healthy and we had a game tomorrow IMO the starting lineup would be AC, JM, RK, MS, DG. Haeg, Bond and Clark would be our swing backups.

Yeah I get that.
But it says the number 4 pick in the second round.
Maybe Penny would be nice but I would rather stock the Oline up if we go Defense first
I apologize I only seen "Round 2 pick - poll". As long as we come away with somthing like DE, OL, LB, RB in no particular order in the first 3 rds ill be fine with it.

Maybe later than early 2nd
I know everybody has their own opinion and that is fine but Penny is my 2nd or 3rd choice at RB. The poll didn't say which 2nd rd pick. I'd like to see Ballard and company go Chubb 1st (if available) and LB/OL early 2nd then with our last 2nd round pick going Penny. I'm a fan of him and Guice.

These connections can have an impact. We thought it would with Hitchens until the money blew it away. There is a good possibility here. We just don't know who there 1st. target is. Meredith, Inman and now Hurns. I'm thinking Meredith and that could take awhile.
I hope your right, I like Meredith alot. However, if we went with Inman I'd be fine with that as well. I don't believe Inman has any history of injuries and had 800 + yards just 2 years ago. He's also the same size as Meredith which is what we need in my book, a big receiver that can go up and get it. I believe he'd be our #2 if signed with Grant working the slot. Rogers would be right there with Grant on playing time imo.

On that particular play Smith was the extra 6th lineman, we where in our jumbo package. Haeg was right beside him. They should've never expected Smith to block Dunlap 1 on 1 like that. For being a patch work Oline they held their own pretty well. The Oline did NOT lose us the game today. The defensive penalties and Doyle fumble lost us the game.
