  1. I'm afraid Malik Hooker's labrum injury/surgery is still lingering and is going to be something that is continuously monitored. I just hope it eventually heals completely with no limitations. We could really use a ball hawking player on the field that opposing teams fear.

I thought this would be about who's starting today.

    Any guesses?

I did to,  I didn't know our "healthy" starting line was still a question. As for today's game I'd say it'll be LT Castanzo, LG Redmond/Vujnovich, C Bond, RG Mewhort, RT Clark. I really wish Schwenke was healthy, I'd like to see what he can do.

I am curious of why no one has signed him....

I'm curious why no one has signed him or Gary Barnidge. Barnidge would still make a decent reliable veteran TE. Pasztor was a solid starting O-lineman and is still young. I assume it is due to $ but that's just a guess.

Who was the other UDFA we had along with Rogers...I can't remember and maybe he wasn't a UFDA but he had potential also at one point I thought

Your probably thinking about Tavaan Smith from Iowa or possibly Marcus Leak. Alot of fans really liked Smith.

Does anyone know about Haeg or Swoope? Didn't see any update on those two.

I posted about these 2 in the practise thread yesterday. Haeg looked fine yesterday and had no noticeable limitations during his side line non -team work. I got a chance to talk with him and he told me he'd be back to practising in a couple days. He said he just had some minor bruising and soreness (take that for what it's worth).  He appeared fine to me though.  Swoope on the other hand had a noticeable limp and was non -comental on his injury. I'd imagine he will miss a little more time than Haeg but that's just an assumption from what I saw.

  6. Takeaways from open practise. Bug Howard is a huge target and looked very good. He did have one drop but had alot of passes thrown his way and stood out. TY and Aiken had a couple nice catches.Tolzein was bad,  if Luck misses any games were in trouble. The defense as a whole out performed the O. Jon Bostic was making all the calls, leading the D and is an un-questioned starter as of now. Al Woods looked good and is 1 huge dude, he demanded double teams. O- line was pretty bad imo without Haeg and Mewhort. Mathis ran almost every drill with the pass rushers which was really fun to see. Hankins may miss some time. He tried to go back in but had a noticeable limp. Same goes for Swoope, he also had a noticeable limp and didn't want any part of discussing his injury during autograph session (can't blame him). Joe Haeg looked fine and told me he was just resting due to some minor bruising. Mewhort appeared to be ok as well, he was very active on the side line during his non-team drills. Kelly missed a couple snaps while a trainer was stretching out his shoulder,  hopefully that was nothing. I talked with Luck and Doyle for a few minutes, they are both as advertized. Very down to earth good guys. Mack looked bigger than 6' to me, he seemed fairly tall for a rb. He was also a good chat,  he is humble and hungry. Overall the D looked like they wanted to play some what physical and  put on a show for the fans. Not so much for the O with the back up QB's.

  7. My video take aways are: Walker looked like a good tackler and quick on the field should at least be a solid backup.  Banner is extremely raw and appeared a little sluggish but wow what a huge dude, guys a giant! Mack has some serious speed/shiftyness, he cuts really well. However his ball control/security really scared me. If he can pass block and the coaches clean up his ball security by teaching him how to properly hold the football he can be a very good rb. Stewart looks like a project, he didn't really impress, he doesn't use his hands well. Hairston should be a solid backup, I liked what I seem. Basham is kind of an unknown because the level of competition he was playing. But, he looked solid against the pass and run and has a high motor,  he doesn't take plays off. Hooker/Wilson are no brainer day 1 starters.

I must say, as a black man..... that "geto" part offended me

Not everyone who comes out the "Geto" is like Burfict or Pacman.

Wow! I'm with you, I'm a white country boy from a small town that graduated with literately no African Americans in my class (10 years ago) and that post offended me lol. I get where he was trying to go with that post but some people should definitely consider reading what they type before posting.

  9. I'm with the majority hoping that the timing of this means Hankins is coming to indy. However it could simply be because Jones has been busy and Ballard wanted to talk to him in person before making the announcement and he just now got the chance to do that. Just a thought, I have no idea if that's true or not.

CB isn't as deep as linebacker positions. Both of those guys won't be there in 4th round. I would say Day 2 sometime. Sidney Jones may be a low 2nd rounder and Kendell Beckwith maybe a 3rd rounder. Then who? Not much there. Also, might be a good idea to grab one that is healthy. As you can see, it's just Davis and Melvin currently. Need one who can be out there day 1.

You didn't say anything about LB's in your original post about the DB's coming out this year,  so not sure why your bringing that up.  I watch some college ball but mabey/probably not as much as you. But from what I have watched and listened to from every analyst this year,  it should be a very deep DB draft.

  11. Besides the re-signing of Doyle that is the best thing I've heard or has happened this off-season for the Colts. Play the man at FS and occasionally at slot corner if needed until green is ready to take the ropes. He's a fighter,  indy has never gave him more than a 2 year deal but he always seems to make it on back on our squad. The sad thing is when you have 50 million to spend and Butler is one of the best players signed. Oh well, we'll see what Ballard has done for the Colts after the draft. Sorry, rant over, moral of the story I'm happy to have Butler back.
