Our WRs weren't getting open all day forcing Luck to check down all day.  I think you might be on to something here.  Honestly I think our WRs are overrated because it seems like they struggle to get open a lot.

I agree that our wr's have been pretty bad. Besides TY we don't have a good option #2. TY is good, Moncrief seems to be nothing more than a solid #3 wr and Dorsett is horrible, what a waste of a 1st round pick.

  2. The empty back fields on 3rd and ones and fourth downs really upsets me. It screams to the defense to send the house against our poor O-line and pound Luck. Not a fan of Chud, imo his play calling has cost us a couple games and needs to go. We also need a running game in a seriously bad way, i feel for Luck.

  3. I didn't realize this was ever even a question for Colts fans. PATRIOTS! And there's not even a close number 2. Yeah,  there's a couple other teams that I dislike like the Bengals and Chargers (ala Philip Rivers) but when I hear Colts and hate my mind automatically goes to Patriots without hesitation.

  4. I agree,  I've got 2 buddy's that had tickets and where talking about selling them to steelers fans. I told both of them how I felt about it. Just gives the visiting team a a little more advantage every time a home fan does that. But thats just my opinion and I understand they can do whatever they want with THEIR tickets.

  5. Pagano did a fine job tonight. I thought going for it on the 4th downs was the right calls considering the steelers offense definately have an upper hand on our defense.  However,  I was not a fan of the offensive play calling at all. It was so obvious every time they called a running play. Right up the gut for a yard or 2. I called it every time and I'm just a common fan. Why do we NEVER run outside the tackles? It sure didn't help our receivers couldn't catch a cold today,  they dropped WAY to many passes. I felt bad for Tolzein,  our line was garbage as well,  he got hit on about every pass attempt. Talent is an obvious issue.

  6. I'm a fan of what we did against GB. Have him play strong safety,  come up near the line of scrimmage playing some ilb and let him do some blitzing. Imo we need to use him as a hybrid strong safety/ilb, and not limit him to just safety or lb. He's fast,  physical and loves to hit but doesn't have ball instincts that you'd like for a free safety or coverage guy. Which is also why I'm a fan of Butler at free safety. The guy is very distinctive. Id like for us to try him there a bit more to see what we got. If he's as good as he looked against GB we can resign him and let him play back there for a few years and it shouldn't cost us a fortune.

  7. IMO we could still use a #2 opposite Davis but Melvin has been a pleasant surprise. He has been very solid on the outside and holding his own. Robinson is a good slot corner, that is where he should stay. I would like to see more of Butler at free safety. He looked good back there against GB. Mabey we can resign him to play there for us next yearif the GB  game wasn't a fluke since Adams will probably be done.

So you have no problem at all with the sacks haeg gives up?

He he is a worse run blocker than good and pass blocking is a struggle for both yet look at how you view them.

    Fans never surprise me

Where In my post did I say haeg was a better run blocker than Good? I gave him an overall better grade because of his versatility and potentIal. Hes a rookie that makes rookie mistakes but he has shown signs of being a very good OL. Right now Good and Haeg are both average IMO but one Is a rookie and one Is not so I gave the rookie an edge up. This forum Is mainly used for fans opinions. I respect everybodys opinions on here and dont get on here to bash  others because I dont agree with them at times. If you had a different opinion than why not just post your OL grades the way you see them and go on Instead of attacking other fans views?

  9. Castonzo - 7. Above averag pass protection, average run blocking.

Mewhort - 8. Solid player above average at both. Best guard on the team by far.

Kelly - 7. Does well at both for a rookie.

Good - 5. Average player, better run blocker than pass protector.

Haeg - 7. Better guard than Tackle, but very versital. His versatility is why i gave him a 7. No major drop off when he comes in the game, he has a bright future in the NFL.

Reitz - 5. Average at run blocking and pass protection, also like his versatility. He's a very good backup, shouldn't be a starter, happy to have him on the team though.

Blythe - 3. Rookie, plays like a rookie. Better run blocker than pass pro.

Harrison - 4. Below average pass protection, average run blocker.

Clark - 0. Wasted pick IMO but who knows, mabey he will shine in a year or 2.

  10. I really hope we re-sign him at the end of the year. He's my favorite player this year and will be majorly * if Grigson lets him walk. I doubt he will, all his teammates love him, I don't think Grigson would want the entire team out to get him.

  11. Definitely the most underrated player on the team. I don't think he's anything special as far as making splashy plays and getting sacks every game but he has been our most consistent OLB the past few years. I also don't ever remember him missing a game due to injury (not saying he hasn't but I can't think of any). He's above average at setting the edge and can get to the QB from time to time. A lunch pale kind of guy as Pagano would say. We still need to improve the position this off season in a bad way but we should keep him and replace the Mathis imo. I really like and respect Robert but his time has past. If today was the last day of the season I'd say keep Walden,  Ayers & Maggitt and sign or draft 2 more pass rushing OLB's.

  12. I agree with Solon, our entire D is suffering majorly from inadequate pass rush. I realize it's not our only weakness but i believe we'd be about a middle of the pack average D if we had a couple solid pass rushers. Along with a good pass rush comes turnovers, incompletions and poor throws by QB's trying to get rid of the ball. Our D makes opposing QB's look MUCH better than they really are and our DB's look worse than they are. The QB has time to sit in the pocket and take his time going through all his progressions and then back again. We would look better against the run as well because it makes the O more one dimensional. Our MLB's and safeties could focus on the run more and not be as worried about the QB carving them up. Our coaches philosophy's might be off. They say stop the run 1st (i agree you have to be able to stop the run) but if you focus on getting to the QB and getting in his head and off his game the rest usually falls into place, as long as you've got a couple run stuffing MLB's or NT that is. Sorry, rant off. IMO we are "atleast" 4 players away from having a good D, 2 pass rushers, 1 MLB and 1 corner.

If you payed attention to the game you would have seen A . Morrison get the start along side of Jackson.

Morrison collected 12 tackles, 10 of them being solo.

Why your worrying about McNary baffles me.

If you paid attention to the game you would have seen McNary DID start the game and played the greater majority of snaps. Morrison thus far has been horrible to, hes just as bad as McNary at this point. I actually laughed and shook my head when they anounced Josh McNary starting LB on the tv Sunday night. How sad Is that, Josh freaking McNary and Its not even due to Injury?

Number 2 corner spot is cursed lol..obviously Mathis is hurt so why start him..and last how the hell is jones not healthy by he's only been out say 2 years?

Thats funny yet so true. But to answer the question, he is not injured, the coaches are just making sure hes in good game shape and up to speed. He wasn't aloud to practise with the team the first 4 weeks.

Do you think Pagano would hire him after he just slammed the front office on national media?

I bet deep down Pagano would agree with Reggie. Reggie bashed Grigson not Pagano. I'd say Pagano would sure like a better roster to work with as well. Pagano takes alot of heat for sticking up for his players and talking about how much talent/grit they have but i guarentee you half of it is just coach talk. This is why he has so much respect in the locker room. But if he had it totally his way I'd say the roster would look alot different.
