  1. "Almost" pretty much defines the Colts the past 5 years, i think he hit the nail on the head with that quote. It is mainly a coaching propblem in my opinion. Chuck is a good guy but should've stayed a coordinater. He is NOT a good head coach. Luck also needs to quit being the "nice guy". A good leader has to hold himself and others around him accountable and with that comes giving out constructive critisism from time to time. We didn't have these problems with Peyton because Peyton was a better leader and let his teammates know what was expected out of them and held them accoutable. Manning would praise his line when they did their job and would get on them when they did not. Mabey behind closed doors Andrew does the same thing (i doubt it though) but i have never seen him get on his teammates for screwing up time after time. Instaed, he takes the blame for them by telling them he will do better. He is a good player and great teammate but he tries to carry the whole team on his shoulders and that just cannot happen every week for the Colts to be great again instead of just mediocre.

My guess is that they will keep it open for when Jones comes back ??

I was thinking the same thing. More than likely who ever they sign now wont be active against the jags anyways. The team Is leaving for London Friday. That only leaves two days for somebody new to practise with the team. Then next week somebody would have to be cut for Jones.

  3. I respect everybody's opinions, this is why I asked because I wanted to see how other Colts fans felt. My friends have been bashing "the pick" since last year's draft and I keep telling them that he is going to be good, just give it time. This year everybody gave me a hard time for drafting Dorsett in fantasy (with my last pick). I am just expecting to much out of him I reckon. As much as Luck throws the ball I was just expecting more targets going his way and was curious what others thought. I know we've got other targets for luck to throw to, but Dorsett has a good skill set and should be utilized more IMO.

  4. It's time for this Dorsett to step up. In 3 games he only has 8 catches for 150 yards, that's less than 3 catches a game average. I like the kid but for a former 1st round pick in his 2nd season I expected more out of him this year (especially with Moncrief out yesterday). I know he's got the potential but hasn't produced much thus far.  What's everyone's opinion on this?  Is it due to not having that chemistry with Luck yet, is he just not getting open enough,  over hyped or am I expecting to much out of him. Here's to hoping  for a rebound and a big game this Sunday!

  5. I was impressed with his play at RG. Struggled a bit at RT but still did pretty well for a rookie. Happy to have him, he's going to be a key part of our line in the future. He filled in for our starters at 2 different positions yesterday without much, if any drop off IMO.

Pagano says the Colts will absolutely use three safeties together (Mike Adams, Clayton Geathers and T.J. Green) going forward.

I can kind of see why we are carrying 5 safeties on the roster this year now.

With the release of Winston Guy Tuesday we are actually only carrying 4 safeties. Adams, Geathers, Green & Farley.

  7. According to an article i read about Freeman he supposedly said in an interview that Indy offered him a conract before free agency but after that he never heard from them again. He basically stated that he initially turned down the offer because he wanted to test the market but after doing so he decided to come back to Indy (which is where he said he really wanted to be all along) but the offer was done off the table.

  8. Its actually surprising to me that Good has the worst grade. Just from the eye test of myslf your average fan I'd rank our OL best-worst Mewhort Good Castanzo Kelly Reitz. Mewhort and Castanzo are our best 2 pass protecters but Good and Kelly seem to be our best run blockers and Reitz is well...Reitz, average backup tackle.

  9. Looking at the roster really makes me upset we didn't go after Sitten (assuming we didnt). We could really use another decent Olinemen. Another quality backup CB would be nice as well. I thought we had that in Thorpe but I guess not. I really hope im wrong but im not very optimistic about this roster.

My word they need some olineman. Obviously, the Colts feel differently, but Haeg is the only backup on the roster that I am comfortable with playing any extended period of time.

I'm with you, our depth at OL is scary and not in a good way! Any time i see jersey #72 jog on the field i cringe.

as I looked closer at it it seems burley may have been waived with injury designation. He may not be healthy. Darryl Roberts looked to have the same thing. Could be wrong.
Roberts and Millner for sure I didn't see it for Burley. That will be very disappointing

    Burley was indeed waived/injured.

I like Morrison's aggressivness, and tackling ability.  He makes good decisions also.

My only issue is that he HAS to keep the ball in front of him, because he's not the fastest 'dog' on the field.

I thought the same thing, that he was slow and would have to rely on instincts but after watching him this preseason I actually saw him react to the ball and get there really quick a few times. His game speed actually impressed me.

haven't seen pope play. Knew Seahawks had a logjam though. Problem is the Colts staff seems to have grown roots in the ground about Ferguson. My guess is as good as yours as to why.
Pope is the real deal. I'm not sure why the Hawks took Prosise 3rd the came for Collins 5th having Rawls and Michael already.

I think the board is priming for a big disappointment getting so excited about Sitton.  I think we make a call but I don't see us getting involved in a bidding war which is the direction these things take.

As as far as getting locked in on Ferguson I am hoping they know something. The wise thing to do grab Pope some light reading

As I expected Pope is faster than many had estimated... broke a solid 4.49 at JSU Pro-Day workout... vertical and broad jumps are solid... early reports had Pope's 40-time as high as 4.8' game tape shows quite the contrary... game speed is dynamic; I timed his game tape 40 (on various long runs from various games) between 4.2s to 4.3s... swift RB on film... solid build, with muscular legs... bouncy runner showing effective jump-cut ability... will dance behind the line at times without a lane opening... likes to bounce runs outside some, but not a

habit... hits between the tackles when the hole is there... excellent balance and leg drive... decisive rusher when the lane breaks... puts foot in turf and hits north at full speed rapidly... though built solidly he is not a tackle-breaker... shifty and elusive at the line, through the hole and especially in the 2nd level... shows patience behind his blockers... good "feel" and RB vision... shows to be an average receiver; body-catches most throws his way... ran routes well and caught the ball confidently at his Pro-Day drills... pass-pro and blocking are lacking; needs work there... has the upper-body strength to become an effective blocker; 25 reps on the bench press is evidence... ran tough and strong vs then #6 Auburn...

As far as free agent rb's go I like Pope, Mack Brown & Ronnie Hillman.

  14. Wow, they release Irving, Okine, Bates and Smith for the likes of Ferguson, Bray and Morris? IMO keeping Todman should replace both Ferguson and Bray. Todman is a better rb than Ferguson and as good of a returner as Bray. That would've freed up a roster spot for smith. Edwin Jackson over Irving...really? We dont need to be wasting a roster spot for a 3rd QB that we will never see the field unless both QBs go down either. I like Morris better than Tolzein but id rather have Okine or Bates on the roster instead of 3rd string QB.

Id rather see Clark then Harrison. Harrison should never start

Im not a fan of Harrison either, I agree he Is bad but honestly Id rather see him on the field than Clark at this point. Clark will be our worst OL on the 53 man roster. Im not saying he doesnt have potential because he definately does and will probably be a good player for us In the future but Is really bad right now.

I don't think it's a question of Todman over Ferguson.  I think it's a question of will they keep three backs or four and if it's three it's Todman or Ridley.

Again listening to the Coaches and Grigson talk about Bray they think they have something special in him so it will probably come down to Rogers or Smith with one making it and one getting cut.  I think Rogers put the final stamp on his roster spot Thursday night and they will bring Smith back for the PS.

As for QB, the Colts have made it clear Tolzien is their backup QB and that's not changing.  So it comes down to do they keep two or three.  I think even the Colts feel Morris has earned a roster spot but it will be a numbers game.  Will the injuries allow them to keep three.  If they don't based on everything the Colts have said this pre-season Morris will be the odd man out.

I wasn't saying thats what I thought the Colts would do. I was stating what I WANTED the Colts to do.

Id take Morris over tolzien. I don't  think he lasts past waivers if we wanted to put him on the PS. WR will be the really hard part. I would take Smith and Rogers and cut Bray, then have someone else do the return duties. I also think we keep Swoope. He's looked good in preseason.

We'll also be looking at waiver wire players so this roster isn't set yet.
