Derek Carr isn't great or even very good but he is good/better than average. He would be good with our O.line and TY Hilton. I would rather trade for him than draft any QB in this draft (Burrow excluded). Carr is just entering his prime at 28 and is strong. He still can play 10 more years. He is a proven NFL QB as well. Carr is better than JB and a nice upgrade. I would have us going 10-6 with him and feel good about it with the Line we have and run game we have. We still need another difference making WR and a DT though no matter how anyone looks at it.
I have been on the Carr bandwagon ever since the rumors came out that Gruden might be open to trading him. I like Carr alot. He's not a top 5, 1st ballot hall of fame QB but he is solid. If we could get him with one of our 2nd round picks I would jump on it in a heat beat. That would set us up perfectly for the draft to go BPA.

In regards to Chad Kelly...He MAY have the skills to play QB at a high level. But, is his head in the right place to be the leader of this team? Listening to Ballard, it sounded to me like the front office/ coaching staff do not fully trust him yet. They believe he's still got alot to prove and has to earn their trust. IMO we cannot roll into next season hoping Kelly has his head on straight and is ready to be the leader on & off the field.

IMO the only way we don't draft a QB to either start, compete or develop is if we make a trade for Carr or sign Bridgewater. We definitely need DT, WR & OL (depending on Castanzo) so your point is well taken. However, the #1 priority on every team is QB and it cannot be ignored or passed over if a solid option is available.

IMO there will be 4 QB's taken in the top 15. Burrow, Tua, Herbert & Love.

Not at 13. Maybe at 34.
Unless something drastic happens before the draft, Love probably won't make it to 13 let alone 34.

But doesn't that questionable resume and fit make him sound more like a 4th rounder?
Ding ding...That was my point exactly. I was disappointed they drafted him so high. Not necessarily disappointed in the production we got from him. I knew he'd be a project/ work in progress and IMO thought we couldve got more bang for our buck with the pick.

Ben Banogu was the only head scratcher/disappointment for me. For me he's right there with Tarell Basham and Tyquan Lewis as Ballard's developmental guy's. I thought there were better players on the board at that pick (I'm no NFL manager, just my opinion). Overall, I liked the draft and as always have faith in Ballard and Reich. Happy to be a Colts fan with those 2 men at the helm. Nothing but respect for their beliefs, vision and passion for the team.

That is the point I am making. If they were both gone.
let me ask this. If they were both there: Herbert and Love, Who you taking?
I want Herbert but I would still be happy with Love. I believe Herbert is the safe pick. However, Love has more upside if he fully develops. I think Herbert would give us close to what Luck did while Love could end up playing like Mahomes or Blake Bortles. Hes either going to be great or bust with no in between. Just my opinion.

I would rather have Herbert or Love at 13 but if there both gone I'd be good with this.
-
Prefer Herbert or Tua at 13 (doubtful I know) but would be ok with Love. If we wait until the 2nd I'd be happy with Fromm with our 44th pick or Hurts/Gordon in the 3rd.

I doubt the Jags would trade the QB that knows their entire offensive playbook to a divisional rival AND give them an extra draft pick. However, if they were dumb enough to do it I'd be all over it. Foles and a 2nd or 3rd round draft pick....no brainer.

I would love to have Tua if he fell to #13 but I highly doubt he makes it that far unless his injury is lingering. There's still a possibility of him returning to Bama for his senior year as well.

I would love to have Carr in a Colts uniform next year.

I’m not sure Carr will be available, at least not right away
You never know with Gruden, he's shown he's not afraid to move on from players if they don't fit his long term vision. Im hoping we can snag him for one of our 2nd round picks.
-
Im hoping we can get Carr if Gruden decides to move him. I think he is highly undervalued with the Raiders and would be better than any drafted QB at #13 in this year's draft. If we could land Carr it would set us up to draft WR/DT with first 2 picks and then grab a developmental QB with our other 2nd or 3rd rounder.

I would be very happy with signing/trading for Carr and drafting a developmental QB. Carr doesn't get enough credit in Oakland. He is not the problem in Oakland. He has done very well with the scrub team Gruden has put around him.

Most definitely

Ill start out by saying my wish list for top 3 rounds are QB, WR & DT. But, I have 2 options that I would like to see from the Colts.
A. Draft a legit WR (tall, possession, crisp route runner type) to compliment TY and Campbell in the 1st round and draft a high upside QB to start training camp behind Brissett in the 2nd. And use our remaining 2nd rounder for a solid DT.
OR
B. Trade up using our two 2nd round picks to get our franchise (hopeful) QB. Then draft best available WR and DT in rounds 2-4.

After this season, they will spend the cap, if for no other reason than they have to, get some playmakers, they're gonna draft a guy that can run this offense, and next year this team will be firing on all cylinders.
I really hope your right but I fear Reich will stick with Brissett and we will be stuck in mediocracy. The team and coaches overall have been doing a good job with what they have to work with but Brissett isn't the long term answer. If we had a QB of Watson's caliber we would be dangerous. I don't blame the coaches or front office bc they are doing the best they can with the hand they where delt when Luck decided to leave the team hanging. However, if we don't address our QB situation it's going to be a long road to another SB.

Has anyone heard anything on Odum or Ya-Sin since the post game reports?

I was at that game. People who left missed a game for the ages. I swear the concrete was shaking under my feet and you could feel the vibration from the "Sound" in your chest. Yesterday wasn't quite that spectacular but it shows you shouldn't leave early. What you going to do, go sit in traffic lol!
Best game I have ever attended. The entire 4th quarter was electric and LOS was rocking. I doubt anybody had a voice left after that game.

I hate anyone that left early. No excuse when youre only down 1 with over a min to go
I can't say I hate them (hates a strong word lol) but I'm with you, they aren't much of a fan to leave games early and give up on the team like that. I went to the KC playoff game few yrs ago and seen ALOT of so-called Colts fans leaving at half time. Irked me seeing fans give up hope/support of the team. The 12th man can make a huge difference to close out a close game.

What would the Colts have to give up in a trade for Derek Carr?

I don't know what it would take but I know what I'd give up. I'd be happy with giving up either of our 2nd rounders for him (not both). Anything better than that would just be a plus for me.
