  1. I don't like them at all. I like the slower moving games. It is not all about the action to me. It seems the pitchers were rushing too much.
  2. Well, the Pacers are now tied for the 6th spot and I believe would pick 7th now. The have the 7th, 26th and 28th spots now.
  3. I get that, but I don't think a pitcher should get a strikeout for it.
  4. So the pitcher can get a strikeout without throwing a pitch? ha ha, that seems silly.
  5. Pacers currently have the 6th, 25th and 30th spots. https://www.tankathon.com/
  6. All these efforts to speed the game up are lost on me. Especially when they continue to add more commercials. I like the slow game style of baseball. The new rules are too much. I have a couple questions if any one knows the answers: Do pitchers get credit for a strike or strikeout from the batter not being in the box on time? they said the pitcher is only allowed to throw to 1st base 2 times per batter. Base stealing will go up allot. If you factor in the bigger leads that will be takes and the distance between 1st and 2nd is 4.5" shorter, stealing be be much easier. So if a pitcher throws to first 2 times, can the runner now take as big a lead as he wants?
  7. Looking at last season, Fields did improve as the year went on. Most stats trended for the better. There were outliers but 5 of his games with a passer rating over 90 were from week 8 on. Only 1 in the first 7 games. Completion % weeks 2 through 4 - 52.0%. For weeks 13 through 15 - 71.0%
  8. In year 3 his stats will be improved even without better talent. Typically a young QB's stats trend up in year 2 and 3.
  9. The Bears were a bad team. 85.2 rating is average, but on a team that bad it is closer to being good. He did have a great rushing season. Mostly out of necessity. What impressed me is the jump in every passing category he made from his rookie year. I would expect the improving trend will continue (probably not to the same degree) and his rating will be over 90 next season.
  10. No he didn't. In fact, I would argue he had a good season when you think of the crap show team he was on. 60.4 pass completions TD's 17 (another 8 rushing - Total - 25 INT's - 11 Rating - 85.2 Rushing yards - 1143
  11. Yep, his is on a bad team and he still had an OK season.
  12. I'd take fields in a heartbeat. Mostly because he took big leaps in his growth last season. Another leap in his 3rd season is likely, especially on a new team. Fields last season: 60.4 pass completions TD's 17 (another 8 rushing - Total - 25 INT's - 11 Rating - 85.2 Rushing yards - 1143 The same stat categories from 2021: 58.9 pass completions TD's 7 (another 2 rushing - Total - 9 INT's - 10 Rating - 73.2 Rushing yards - 420 Brissett may pass better than Fields but it is not allot better. Fields rushing ability makes him much better than Brissett.
  13. I don't there there is much of a chance of the Bears taking a QB. Especially in this draft. None of them look like sure things, in fact, I don't think any of them will be great QB's.
  14. having Fields would be nice. He improved from year 1 to year 2 on a crappy team. no reason to think he wouldn't improve again.
  15. Anyone believe him? Maybe technically true since he left being a career back up QB to be a starter in a much lesser league but the real reason is because his has made over $15 million while throwing just 174 passes. I guess $86,000 per pass is pretty good money. Former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback A. J. McCarron has hit the ground running in his first season in the XFL, leading the St. Louis Battlehawks to two thrilling comeback victories for a 2-0 start. Aside from his performance on the field, McCarron received praise from XFL owner Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson on Friday because of his decision to leave the NFL to pursue a career where he could "create memories" with his two young boys. https://www.foxnews.com/sports/xfl-owner-dwayne-johnson-praises-ex-nfl-quarterback-taking-less-money-create-memories-kids
  16. This kid is impressive. I would like to see him pitch both games of a double header. Jurrangelo Cijntje, a freshman out of Pembroke Pines, Florida, started for the Bulldogs in Wednesday’s game against the University of Louisiana Monroe, when he struck out seven batters in four scoreless innings. The impressive part? He did so pitching with both arms The 19-year-old switch-pitcher allowed just one hit, one walk and struck out six batters as right-hander. In the third inning, he displayed his ambidextrous abilities and struck out a left-handed hitter with a 92 mph fastball. Cijntje, who is now 2-0 this season after appearing in last week’s win over VMI, also threw a 97 mph pitch from the right. https://www.foxnews.com/sports/mississippi-state-pitcher-jurrangelo-cijntje-goes-viral-ambidextrous-talent
  17. Pacers are currently in the 6th draft spot. I hope they do not blow it. They could get as high as the 5th pick this year. Or as low as 15.
  18. When MLB changes rules, it turns me off. I didn't watch as much last year because I don't like the DH in the National league. Changes for 2023: Shift restrictions: The defensive team must have a minimum of four players on the infield, with at least two infielders completely on either side of second base. These restrictions are intended to increase the batting average on balls in play. - So batting averages will be better in 2023. Bigger bases: First, second and third have been expanded from 15 inches on each side to 18 inches on each side, while home plate remains unchanged. The primary reason why the bases are bigger is safety, giving fielders and runners more room to operate without colliding. But the slightly decreased distance between bases could help runners on stolen-base attempts and bang-bang plays. Pitch timer: The length of games will still be determined by innings, not minutes. But to create a crisper pace, there will be a 30-second timer between batters and then a shorter time limit between pitches. Pitchers will be required to begin their motion 15 seconds after receiving the ball with the bases empty or 20 seconds after receiving the ball with runners on base. If they don’t, they will be charged with an automatic ball. Batters, meanwhile, must be in the batter’s box and alert to the pitcher by the 8-second mark on the clock, or else be charged with an automatic strike. Pitchers will also be limited to two pickoff attempts per plate appearance with a runner on first. - So after he uses his 2, the runner can walk to 2nd base?
  19. I'm cautiously excited for the Cardinals season. Losing Pujols and Molina is tough to overcome. I hope signing Willson Contreras helps fill the gap. As usual, the Cardinals have some good talent in the minors. Jordan Walker will be up at some point a bolter an already crowded outfield. Pitching-wise, They have an always solid Wainwright back for his 18th season with the Cardinals. I'd probably call him a 2 or a 3 in the rotation. His last 3 seasons ERA 3.05, 3.71, 3.38. Flaherty is the wild card. After injuries the past 2 seasons it is not known if he will get back to his 2019 level but he is only 27.
  20. Same here, I didn't watch any. Did the XLF ditch their crap they tried to do the first time they started. It was way too much like wrestling and not about football.
  21. I'm not, really. I am looking forward to season 2 of the USFL. It was good football last season.
  22. Unfortunately they will will probably make the playoffs and miss out on being a part of the draft lottery.
  23. I think they all get in eventually. Willis is the least likely because of his short career.
