  1. This is a little off topic in some ways but it's also spot on, if that makes any sense. I lost a friend because of a picture of Eli Manning he posted on Facebook (real life friend...this just happened to take place on Facebook). It was Eli Manning celebrating his SB win on 1 side and a picture of the silhouette of am American soldier on the other. Eli's caption read something like America loves me because I makes millions of dollars! The soldier's caption was something like America loves me less and I make thousands of dollars.

I tried to explain how tasteless that picture was, especially when you consider ARCHIE Manning but everybody was all Facebook proper and couldn't comprehend that I was doing anything but ripping our troops.

Archie got almost every bad break a guy could get even though he busted his butt every day of his life, and not just on the football field. Instead of commit suicide like a certain somebody he knew (and found dead) or be a loser his whole life he made...Peyton Manning!!!!!!

  2. We're debating the degree of incompetency now on Andy Dalton? That's like saying who scrapes the bottom of the barrel but looks the most poised & professional while doing it?

The more relevant question is why can't Dalton win with the talent around him at RB & on defense? How do you beat the Ravens & Steelers, win your division, & crumble in the Playoffs so often?

    What?

  3. The two qbs also played in what you would call different eras. It was harder to pass just 14 years ago than it is today.

I'm not down on Dalton but I do agree with this. Every time I mention how the passhappy era isn't that old, people get all jumbled up about it.

  4. The rules and passhappy NFL are to thank for Manning's recent success. With that said, he's still perhaps the greatest quarterback ever. I don't want to get into a huge spat dissecting that paradox but I just can't ignore how much easier it is to play quarterback whether it's Peyton Manning throwing 7 TDs in a night or Nick Foles.

  5. Wow that's funny!!!!!!!

I met him at the biggest night club in Tallahassee (I promise I JUST work there!). We rent it out for various other functions during the day. FAMU had rented it out for something and he's their Director of Athlectics. He was cool. I'm going to have to bring a football with me to get signed from now on. I've met him, BJ Daniels (Seahawks 3rd string QB...let me hold the ring!) and Peter Warrick.

I miss high scoring games that were special like The Epic. They were high scoring in spite of the defense. Now they're high scoring because of the defense, if that makes any sense. When I see a high scoring game these days, I think "O look...another typical football game. Nick Foles (or Matt Stafford or Cam Newton or some other QB of that caliber) will probably set some kind of record."

  6. Right, cause our offense is the worst in the league. We need "bounties" to win us games.

Bountygate is why you won the SB. I think Shane was just saying that the Saints wouldn't have been that big a deal for those few years without 2009 happening.

  7. The Browns could have a Tebow season in the works, which isn't the only season like that that's ever happened (Favre in 92). That's the only way I see Johnny Football being a part of anything good this year though.

They steal a game from Pittsburgh every now and then. If they do that in week 1, maybe Hoyer can even win 8 games. If not though...0-3 is destines imo.

  8. It's a win win. If they're 0-3, Johnny can come in and there is no quarterback controversy because Hoyer had his shot. If they're any better, then they won atleast 1 tough game and can plan on being at .500 if they can beat the Titans.

  9. What?

You told me straight up more than once that quarterbacks are paid to win games and that Eli was the reason the Giants lost the games they lost. I said ok, then wouldn't he be the reason won the games that they won? O no no no it doesn't work like that...see he was carried by the defense and stuff. I said well wasn't Brady? O no no no that was different.
