Hasn't anybody ever seen Men In Black??? Doi...

They need to change the rules back in a couple areas, "bang bang plays" and "it's football plays".
The calls haven't gotten worse, the microscope has just gotten bigger over the newer, painfully detailed rules. The PI thing would have never been an issue a fews years ago. It would have just been 1 of those "it's football plays" because...well...it's football. Refs throw flags at the sound of helmets crashing now. Then when they let it slide in the playoffs people scream RIGGED! This Cowboys thing is just this year's example like the Seahawk's illegal contact was last year.

The definition of coaching is getting the most out of every player and resource. Marvin Lewis is coaching perfectly in that regard. The fact that his resources and players don't yield more isn't usually on him.
Remember how Andy Dalton became the starter??? Carson Palmer bailed because he couldn't even get a new hand towel. Marvin Lewis was close to bailing too until they fired everybody he wanted fired from the office. Sadly though nothing changed with Mike Brown on top of everything.
Marvin Lewis shouldn't be fired. He should quit.

Lambeau is the Bizarro home field. The weather is the real reason the Packers have been 1 and done so many times. Rodgers is useless in it, as was postprime Favre.
But if there's a bigger girl than Rodgers at quarterback in the NFL it's Romo so...
-
Alot went on in that game obviously but I thought going 3WRs with no dump off option on 4th and 3 was dumb.
-
Idk Deadspin?

Ok, just make up what you want and stick with it....it's a common tactic on this forum.
I know, such as just up and deciding John Lynch was a chicken pie.
-
Can't believe I left out Blanda...so the GOAT quarterback and GOAT backup quarterback are the 2 most intercepted quarterbacks of all time. I like it.
-
So? That's about as illuminating as the fact that the record labels don't care about making good music, or that Vince McMahon doesn't care how good that matches are. Beaides, if it were rigged I doubt the owners would do the rigging.right, because the nfl has been staging and manipulating games since it started. Think about what you are saying...never played football before but leads in ints. Of course, because all they need is jocks to do what they want and they tell the QB to just throw it in a area instead of hitting his receiver.
its amazing how gullible you want to force yourself to remain. Google the history of the owners of these franchises. They operated gambling rings and didn't even know what football was but were told its a good way to make more money gambling.

'72 *Dolphins that was supposed to say yes
-
Good old school call on Johnny U. His position as a backup counts as much as the others. Countless old quarterbacks have kept playing just to be a backup. There are probably more from other eras that belong on this list. Didn't the '72 win a ton of games with the backup?
-
I already get where you're trying to go with Rodgers which does even worse for your case. In his years as a backup he never won a game and was hurt the 2 times he ever played, 1 of which was a 0-35 loss and another loss on a pick 6 in the 4th quarter.
-
Flutie was supposed to be a starter. Not sure how long a back up because he was in CFL for awhile.
Doug Williams have no idea how long he was a back up. He did win a SB tho.
Flutie won a game or 2 every time he made it on the field, which wasn't just in NE and SD I'm pretty sure, but I could be wrong.
-
I think the thread title says it best in a more positive way than people realize. It's a sad day, but it's just 1 day and it'll be over way before the Superbowl even if they win another game or 2. Then we'll have the SBuperbowl between the 2 best team which is what it's all about. That will be a good day.
-
Batch is up there...and don't hate the Steelers for it. He wanted to be a backup those last few years.
Young also counts even though he was also a starter. He won a ton of games that nobody thought he would win, as a backup. Same can be said about Warner.
Frank Reich of course...probably my #1.
Doug Flutie?
Doug Williams?
Doug Funnie?

Harbaugh was the main reason they were competitive in the years until his last. I liked the guy really...he was a Luck/Favre/Young type tough quarterback who was just overshadowed by Favre and Young in the 90s.
In 1997 the team actually appeared to have it back together when they knocked off the Packers then 2 more teams late to win their 3 only games. They just couldn't-not-draft Peyton.
-
That wasn't my point. You said I was just repeating what I've heard.....and you clearly have no idea.
Yeah I'm sure you always thought John Lynch was chicken pie and the fact that we're in the middle of a young concussion prevention search has nothing to do with it.
-
Ya'll might be surpised over my opinion in the Brady/Manning debate, me being more a Favre/Young type fan and all.
-
Lol, you have no idea what you are talking about....as usual
Night Train Lane went for the head with the head everytime...

Before we declre Seattle invincible..
In the last 6 games..Seattle has defeated Arizona twice, SF twice, Phily and St. Louis.
They don't see good quarterbacks much.
......rematches with dallas and GB will be interesting
Pssssst! They played 8 games before that.

That game was a disgrace to referees. The reason we kept getting burned by the hurry up is because nobody on defense expected the ball to be snapped WHEN 4 PLAYERS ON OFFENSE AREN'T EVEN SET and they were holding on every WR screen.
The truth is our goose was cooked though. The refs were just a random nail in the coffin. I can't believe Jamies was that scared...he purposely didn't run for that 1st down, backpedalled, then fumbled when the defender came closer...all while never being touched. The silver lining is that now Jimbo knows how it feels to be screwed by his defense after his offense did the same thing to us for years.

I had said the niners job was the most attractive (post #56) and then you quoted me and went on about how lousy their team is ...
-
Yes. And it was that post where I said they were the best spot for a HC candidate. You had asked where the discussion had come from so I was just pointing out that I was the one that originally brought it up.
If they hire Josh McDaniels though I will agree with you that they are doomed ...
There were no quote blocks in my first message and I asked no questions. I still think you and ramjackson are having some kind of contest.
