I thought Chicago accomplished that just a few years ago, no?

They did, and of the other 6 teams to go back to back presidents trophies made the finals at least once.

So History is kinda on Washingtons side. For once haha.

Damn....I need to remember more....rangers are one of the teams that did NOT accomplish that lol

@bababooeyPretty tame game tonight. Glad DC got the Met and Presidents trophy locked up. Now we can relax till game 1 haha.

Rangers looking good for the playoffs I think. Lundqvist looks sharp and your depleted lineup played pretty well today. I think if they handle Montreal in the first round, they'll be able to beat whatever it is the Atlantic trots out in round 2.

With that being said, see ya'll in the conference finals haha.

Congrats on the Prez trophy, just remember it's been a while since the winner has won the Stanley Cup and Washington is on the brink of being the only team with 3 of them and no cups! I actually didn't watch much of last night's game (had on the Yankees instead). I know NYR have been sitting a few folks since we have been locked in on the WC1 and have Montreal locked in for a couple weeks. Henrik has been stinking since returning from injury but the defense is no help. I am convinced we are gearing up for a cup run next year when we hopefully sign Shattenkirk this offseason and maybe buyout Girardi. I'm pretty glad we are going through the Atlantic bracket considering we have the best record of the bracket with the lowest seed thanks to the Metro being so stacked. Hopefully Washington/CBJ/Pitt beat each other up in the first two rounds. I think it's gonna be Washington vs. Boston in the ECF personally but I'd love to rematch you guys. I saw playoff Hab killer Marty St. Louis the other day and I wanted to go up to him and ask if he'd suit up for the first round (he had an ice cold OT top shelf winner in game 4 that put us up 3-1 in the 2014 ECF). I hope for your sake Ovi gets one. Him and Henrik are two of the best and it's a shame it hasn't happened yet.

@bababooey and @NorthernBlue, thoughts on the NHL refusing to take part in the Olympics?

Not happy, I saw your argument and I agree but while the NHL loses a few weeks when they are the only sport, the playoffs still get plenty of eyes. If you want to build the sport and increase your fan base you have to go on the biggest stage. For example, every single call to WFAN in NY after Oshie crushed the penalty kills against Russia that year was about hockey. The gold medal game in the Olympics before was nuts too. But NY sports radio barely touches hockey ("Nobody likes hockey, Boomer (Esiason)" is the inside joke on the station). They rarely get any mention unless they are in first place late in the season. Wrestlemania gets more airtime. They talk about it when the playoffs are on but the entire point of the olympics for the NHL is to grow the fanbase and for the players it is to represent your country. If injuries happen that stinks, but that's why its once every four years. People can get injured in the regular season too. The Yankees shortstop injured himself in the World Baseball Classic that's just how it goes. This decision might lead to another lockout...

    Drew Bree's isn't tier 1.

3 straight losing seasons, and 6 non winning seasons out of 11?

It's a team sport. That defense is horrible. He's clearly a Tier 1. We can't complain that Luck should be higher when his team has a couple rough seasons and then rip Brees for the same.

That was yesterday, this season is tomorrow. I put little or no stock in what the pundits say.

Some said Leaf was better than Manning

Many said RG III was better than Luck

So what, who cares. I know we need things to talk about but I cringe when I see a heading like this

Some *s even voted for RGIII over Luck for ROY

I mostly agree with this. I think with some slight adjustments, the Colts could have won 11 games last year. That's troubling, because I don't think the adjustments are major or hard to see, yet we didn't make them, so I wonder if the coaching staff we have can make them going forward (and honestly, I'm not confident, but we'll see).

It's also encouraging. For as bad as the team played at times, and for the obvious roster deficiencies, they still weren't far off from winning the division. It's not out of reach at all.

No doubt that with a few upgrades and a healthy Luck, along with fixing some of last year's mistakes, we don't lose those close one score games. Left Detroit, both Houston, and Jax in London on the table last year. That's the difference right there. Gotta be closers.

For years I used to always pick 2 home games a season and go to the game then eat at St Elmos after words. I used to make a whole a day out of it. I always had a designated driver so be evenings end I was feeling pretty good.

My fiancé and I did this after the reunion game this year, was amazing. We were staying in downtown so we walked everywhere. Had the makers and cola w the cherries at St elmos and loved it.

The Colts have been the center piece of the total revamping of the downtown area. 30 plus years ago downtown Indy was not a place you wanted to be after dark. The list is too long even to get into but we now have a very beautiful downtown that is vibrant and alive with people.

Mayor Hudnut took a gamble with no NFL team and built the Hoosier Dome and it paid off big time.

I love downtown Indy. Stayed at the Sheraton which was very close to the airport and downtown. Had breakfast at Jack's for a huge donut one morning, cafe patochou, first watch. Went to Yard House, Primanti Bros, St. Elmo's, Colts Grille, and Tastings (ran into Brian Fletcher there). We went out to Howl at the Moon one night which was very fun as well and also a winery outside of downtown.

Any other places I should go to if I go there for my bachelor party?

  8. I love watching Parks and Rec bc it makes me think of all you lucky folk living in Indy. Colts have been great to Indy and vice versa. I love Indy when I visited and we are going to go every year. I'm waiting on the preseason schedule to come out before picking a bachelor party weekend to show my buddies what Indy is about. Most would rather go to Austin or Nashville but I love Indy.

This is the 3rd time he's been accused of this by 3 different women at 3 different times. Crazy.

And one went to jail because she committed perjury after accusing him, the other had the charges dropped after he countersued and they had a confidential settlement similar to Peyton and his accuser (presumably throwing an insignificant amount to make the "problem" go away).

Not saying he didn't do what he's accused of this time but I'll wait before I say anything about this one.

I hate the extra point - commercial - kickoff - commercial sequence.

I also hate long huddles by the refs.

In general, the pace of the game doesn't bother me, nor does the length.

    I hate these as well.

I wish they had two flag colors, for Offense/Defense or Home/Away so we don't have to stand around wondering half the time who the call was on. I know they throw flags in the backfield and stuff which is somewhat helpful but half the time we are standing around wondering what the call is. At least if we know the team that helps the fans. We do this with (real) wrestling already when refs award points.

I'm just glad Grigs is not here this time around to select the RB.    I rarely liked any of his running back choices other than V. Ballard.

I also liked Ahmad Bradshaw, Frank Gore, Robert Turbin, Tyler Varga, and, at the time, Trent Richardson in the wake of Ballard's torn achilles.

yeah, it was a combination of winning close games and playing in a very weak division among other things

the texans are better now too, and that is a factor

We beat a SB champ, AFC champ, and NFC runner up in the same month in Luck's second year. I know when Reggie got hurt we lost our way and got smoked by teams like the Rams, Cards, and Bengals, but since then we get stomped by good teams like the Steelers, Pats, and Cowboys and lose to the teams we should be beating.
