You're letting talent get in the way of of due process. You don't draft a potential rapist with any pick. You don't pursue Conley in any form until he is 100% clear. I'm guess you were probably one of the people who wanted the Colts to sign Greg Hardy too?

Using a pick on him would be selfish and extremely short sighted. But mark my words, if he isn't cleared by tomorrow you can be mad all you want, but no team will draft him.

This is not the Greg Hardy situation...but if you said "I'm guessing you were probably one of the people who wanted the Colts to draft La'el Collins too?" I would have said "With our 7th round pick? SIGN ME UP!".

Just happened a couple weeks ago. She went to police the night of.

I don't believe she has done anything since though. No charges have been filed and she has not spoken to police since as far as I know, unless it just hasn't been reported. Two things you would think would happen immediately following the incident. The kit should also be tested by now as well which potentially proves his innocence (or guilt since he said nothing happened when something could have, consensual or not).

I wonder if his legal team will recommend that he give up his DNA now to try and clear the matter.   (This assumes that Conley is innocent and has nothing to hide.)

But if he gives it up and there's a match,  he's in big trouble.

But if he gives it up and there's no match,   then she's in big trouble for making a false charge....

If you've got nothing to hide then yea you gotta do everything you can to clear yourself ASAP.

  4. TMZ added more to their story. She got invited in, declined to hook up so was just chilling, his two friends told police she was just mad bc he kicked her out of the room (assuming bc she wouldn't give in). She called 911 and said her side but then refused to give an interview and just went home because she had been "stripped of her dignity in minutes". Hasn't pressed charges or anything since.

At this point it looks like the rape kit will be the key factor.

Conley is not claiming that they had consensual sex.     He's claiming that did NOT have sex at all.

So if the rape kit contains his DNA,  then he's in big trouble.

But if the rape kit does NOT contain his DNA,   then she's in big trouble for making a false report.

Will the answer be known before Thursday?

    Definitely not in 2 days.

    Hypothetical.

The media releases the name.      The kid plummets in the draft.

Then the girl is found to either be lying,  or, she can't prove her case.      Or, he can prove his case to the satisfaction of law enforcement or a jury.

Then what?      The player has been damaged to the amount of millions of dollars.     Odds are she doesn't have that.      How he is to re-coup that loss?

His name will be revealed perhaps by the end of the week, or maybe sometime next week.

This is not as cut and dry as it might appear.      Right now, he's only been accused,  he's not charged...

Happened to Collins just 2 years ago

    Predictions for round 2?

Nashville-St. Louis: This is a toss up to me.  Jake Allen has been an absolute wall in net whereas Nashville swept the top ranked team in the West.  I have no idea who to pick here, but I'll say Blues in 7

Edmonton-Anaheim: This will be another good series.  I'm taking Edmonton in 6

Washington-Pittsburgh: Kinda scared here as a Caps fan, but I'm still believing.  Caps in 7

Ottawa-New York: Another tough one.  I really like Ottawa, but I think New York is just too well-rounded and Ludqvist was very good in the first round.  New York in 6

Nashville and St Louis both surprised in the first round, but since no 8 seed ever swept a 1 seed I have to go with the Preds, in 6.

Edmonton in 6 for me. Anaheim has a history of choking so I'm surprised they swept the first round, I love McDavid and of course Talbot, I'd love an Edmonton/NY SCF.

Wash-Pitt - winner of this could easily win the cup, Pitt shut CBJ down while Washington had a tougher time against Toronto. Caps get revenge though, in 7, I'm with you on that.

Rangers in 6. Ottawa is a very top heavy team, and Rangers have to be attentive of Karlson. We do, however, have more depth and better goaltending. Finally after putting Pavel Buchnevich in the lineup and sitting game 1 hero Tanner Glass, the offense started clicking better. Rolling four lines of speed and removing our enforcer allowed us more chances, and you could see Montreal's "Rotweilers" (shut up, Pierre) heads were spinning on both Zucc goals in game 6. It was a very close series with Montreal, grinding out all these 1 goal wins with 2-1 final scores, but we beat Price 3x in a row, and 17 seconds from beating him 5 times out of 6. However, the Rangers PP is a measly 1 for 14, whereas Ottawa has the best. They buried the Bruins with two OT PPGs and one OT goal 12 seconds after the PP ended. The Bruins trended upward after the Julien firing but they still are not a complete team and they could have won that series, but they simply are not a very good team. Rangers were better than both teams (and Montreal in the regular season) so I expect that to continue. Seeing Brassard vs. Zibanajed against each other will be interesting since they were traded for each other. Brass leads the sens in goals, ZBad leads the Rangers in points.

The Brassard/Zuccarello NHL's biggest bromance turned playoff opponent is the biggest story nobody is talking about.

That's why I am saying "follow the money".

He did this for a reason.

He did it because he's a psychopath. The Pats would have the same % chance of paying him if his appeal was successful whether he was alive or dead.
