  1. All about how much they would be able to get for their pick, and what they think they would be able to get at the position they would be picking at instead.

Maybe they're not that sold on any of the prospects, that they would spend a #1 overall pick, so maybe pick a little later in the first round and have another couple of good picks this year and next year.

Imagine if the Vikngs wanted the #1 pick to get their hands on the QB that they really want and is willing the fork over their 1st rounder and next years + whatever.. Texans would still be picking @ #8 in the first round and would still be able to grab a top prospect. I think a trade like that would make a lot of sense if you're not sold on any one of the prospects as a legitimate #1 overall pick.

Imagine being 49'ers and paying what they did to land RGIII. Anyone here that wouldn't make that trade? St. Louis made the right call in trading their pick if you ask me. The real steal of that year was Russell Wilson in the 3rd round (#75).

Don't get caught up in picking early - If the price another team is willing to pay is good enough, just get it done.

  2. I fail to see why this should be important. Peyton has thrown way more TD's and yards than Luck, and Peyton is the clearest MVP choice for a very long time.

We made the right decision in letting Manning go. We needed to build a new team for the future and Luck is the right man for that job. We all hope that the Colts will win the Super Bowl, but if we don't (realisticly I can't imagine this team winning the SB) I would love to see Peyton with the Lombardi trophy in his hands again.

Peyton deserves all the succes he's having and all the records he has smashed this season. He is truly one of the best QB's to ever have played the game.

Luck will hopefully only get better and better and when he hangs up his helmet, hopefully he will have had a career comparable to Peyton.

  3. Given that we just used a 3 and a 4 last year on the interior OL, and one of those picks was for a Center,  I don't think you can use one of our two high picks this year on another center who may, or may not pan out...

If we're going to upgrade the o-line, I think we need to grab veteran free agents, who are experienced and known quantities...

Without a 1 and a 4 in this year's draft,  that would be my preference....

It all comes down to what can be done in the FA. A center has to be top priority, but I wouldn't be surprised if Grigson was in the market for a guard as well.

I doubt that anyone has been won over by what Thornton has done so far. He has been tossed around like a rag doll several times (spare me the lecture about having to learn how to play in the NFL), so if a top prospect is available in the 3rd round in the draft, a very likely scenario, why not pull the trigger.

  4. ??? WR seems stocked with Brazile, Rogers, Reed, Whalen, DHB, Hilton, Wayne, etc...

I hope you're making a joke. Reggie and Hilton are proven playmakers, but who knows what Reggie will be like post-injury, and he's not getting any younger.

Brazil, Reed, Whalen, DHB, Rogers - None of them have really made an impression, to say the least, that would make me want to rely on them. It should be a no-brainer that WR will be adressed in the FA/Draft. Should be as well
