oh, I’m not including AR in the lack of explosiveness. He’s not the problem. I noticed this game he was holding on to the ball and hesitating and it was because no one downfield was open. How many plays do we have +20 yards compared to Jacksonville? The longest play we had was a screen. We gotta start blowing the top off of defenses or this is going to be a very hard year for AR.

I would definitely like to see AR his legs more. He has thrown the ball 27 times now and will be above 30 by the end of the game. That is too much throwing for a rookie QB.
next game, more RPOs, Options, and scrambles. We’re not using his strength.

We lack explosive players on offense. AP suppose to be that but he’s not right now. MPJ doesn’t have the downfield speed to stretch the defense. Downs and Granson can be but as we’re seeing now, the defense will focus on them and they’re gone. And we don’t have our best weapon on the field due to contract disputes.
our next draft and free agency should be focused on getting explosive offensive players. We have the qb, it’s time to start giving him help.

yeah, we could’ve used those 3 points. Like I said with Reich, a good coach is rarely one of the reasons why a team loses. Hopefully he learns from this game and we see better as the season goes on.-

One thing I will say, even if we lose, this team looks PREPARED. Very opposite of what we were used to with Reich.
Some more talent, better decision making, and this could’ve very well been a blowout.

yeah, that is silly. My opinion, he’s not fast enough for the deep routes, which we desperately need from him since his strength is 50/50 catches. He has a strength he can’t even use because he can’t beat anyone deep. Now the short and mid stuff, he’s good. That’s why I say he doesn’t have the “game breaking” ability that most alpha receivers possess. -

First Half GBU
Good:
- AR, welcome to the nfl. He’s playing well. Good pass %, good decisions, and good runs.
- Downs & Granson: they are showing up and getting open. Good to see Granson out there. I wonder what him and Woods will look like.- Defense: they haven’t missed a step. Front 7 is STOUT! Linebacking core is looking good! Defensive backs look solid also. Will be happy to see Juju out there eventually.
- Playcall/Play design: like what I’m seeing. Motion, misdirection, balance.
Bad:
- pass rush has been inconsistent but it’s there. Just need to get home a little bit more. But so far, it’s acceptable.
- run blocking: I don’t know what’s going on. Whether the jags are selling for the run or wide receivers aren’t being enough of a threat to back off the defense, but we need to get it together. we can’t have AR throwing 30-40 times in his first year. Maybe we do need JT. Or a better RB than Deon.Ugly
- Shane 4th down calls: I did agree with the first one. Qb sneak but AR has to stretch out. The second one, just no. Shane, this ain’t Philly. We aren’t there yet. Calm down. We have a kicker with a big leg, make him use it.
- Deon: get him out of there. Enough said.
- AP & MPJ: can someone call the police and put out an APB for both of them? Are they there? Are they getting open? What is going on? Highly disappointed. I had such high hopes for them but so far, nothing.
with all that said, I’m happy. This team has promise. Some talent here, some learning and developing there, and we’ll be fine. It’s just going to take time.

yup, our offense just played a little better and we might’ve been a playoff team. Our defense last year was pretty good and that’s why I was happy when we decided to keep Gus.-
