  1. lol. I must be a complete * then. A Super Bowl blowout win wouldn’t be fulfilling… it’s an interesting take. I believe if you played in the nfl, you would be the only person in the league that felt that way… in professional sports, someone’s bad luck is another’s good fortune. It’s the way of the world really.
  2. I think I made it clear in an earlier post that in order for us to win a championship, we would have to go through the three best teams in the league… I didn’t misrepresent your ideology. I was mocking it because I just think it’s ignorant… every team has injuries late in the season. Some teams play their best football because they have strong qb play and are more fortunate than others. Don’t diminish teams that are less fortunate in the injury category but still finding ways to win games and be relevant.
  3. but for me- anything close to a playoff appearance this year is us trending in the right direction. I think we are already seeing it.
  4. a Super Bowl run for us would likely mean winning 6/7 of last 9 games to get in. Winning on the road against the 2 seed, and then on the road against the 1 seed, likely a combo of Ravens, Chiefs, Dolphins. And then beating either the 49ers or Eagles for a championship. I don’t care if an act of God made that happen, it would be a remarkable achievement and one we’d all rejoice in for the rest of our lives.
  5. I’m sure the Kansas City chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles will feel the same way if they win the Super Bowl this year… 🙄 “Man, it just doesn’t feel right to win when so many teams were playing crappy football this year.”
  6. and possibly more grinding wins than some of the top teams. We’ve won in Baltimore. I’m sure they wouldn’t enjoy playing us again with JT added to the mix.
  7. That’s what everyone judges on. I’m confident the Steelers won’t care about their ugly wins if they make it in. I sure won’t care if it’s “crappy football” as long as we are playing in January. I think a top rushing attack, protecting the football and pressuring qb’s can win in the playoffs. If we finish strong and make it there, I won’t mind losing. But if we can cause chaos from the 6 or 7 seed…. That would be as much fun as I’ve had in a long time.
  8. That’s kind of my point. They played great football. They won flukey games at times leading them to superbowls and played in the worst division maybe ever. Does not diminish their wins whatsoever. and I don’t believe we are playing “crappy football.” We have scored 20 plus in all but one game, good for 8th in the league. Top half in offensive yardage. We are #6 in sacks. 12th in turnover ratio. That isn’t crappy football in anyone’s understanding of the game, except apparently yours, especially with a backup qb that is pretty mediocre. Last year was crappy football for the colts…
  9. I honestly think it will be Nick Sirianni if they keep winning. But of Steichen, Payton, and Ryan, it's a no brainer for me at this point of the season. Steichen is winning football games with Gardner Minshew playing very mediocre football this season... with a team that was brutal last season. If they go 10-7, after starting 3-5, it would be an interesting argument against him. Ryan has an mvp candidate at qb playing out of his mind and putting the team on his shoulders right now. Payton has a veteran top tier qb. A lot can and undoubtedly will change for the colts, texans, and broncos. It's not likely all three of us keep rolling down the stretch. If Steichen pulls it off, he's got my support for it.
  10. I could sit here and say I believe at least half of Tom Brady’s super bowls were flukey. Does that diminish them any? wins aren’t easy to come by in this league. The playoffs are rare. Some teams struggle to get there for decades. There is nothing flukey about winning, with a backup qb at that.
  11. I agree, but he's also smart enough to understand the analytics that make sense, which is why he's been aggressive on 4th down. I'm just happy to see us convert big on those 4th downs. It's been a long time coming with that.
  12. I think we are Saturday night. The Sunday night game is set with Baltimore-Jacksonville. The Colts-Steelers game makes sense for primetime with the implications. Of course that all could go down the drain over the next two weeks, but at this point, it looks like a big time matchup.
  13. Not one person thought about this team being the best this year. So yes, getting to the playoffs, even if it is beating teams without their star qb's (news flash! we are that team too...) is an absolute huge accomplishment a year removed from winning 4 games and firing the head coach.
  14. I'm with you Superman. I think a lot of Moss, but I think his production this season is a lot of scheme and improved o-line play. We're committed to JT, which is the right move. As his production and touches continues to rise down the stretch, I think it will be obvious that Moss is going to be playing for a different team next season. That's not a knock on him, he deserves to get paid what he's worth, which is easily RB1 money on a team in need somewhere. Keep rolling with the duo for a playoff run, and then move on. What I'm wondering isn't with Moss, but with Minshew. Do we bring him back on a bigger deal than we'd like? I can't imagine if he leads us to a playoff birth, or even close to it, that we will not want him on roster backing Richardson up moving forward. Regardless, I really enjoy watching this team right now, and Moss has been and will continue to be a strong point of this offense.
  15. I'm a fan. Of course he has made mistakes, as all coaches do. But I firmly believe he's head and shoulders above most coaches in their rookie years, and will only learn and get better. We might have a lonnng time solution at the helm. How many wins does this team need for him to be Coach of the year? I think 9 or 10 does it, if the offense continues putting 20+ points up.
  16. We know that he can identify talent, and at a much cheaper team friendly rate, than the previous General Manager. The division win is directly correlated to qb play. It's really not hard. Yes, he was responsible (Per se) for qb, although he had an owner and a "qb guru" coach (that was just fired in his first year in carolina) that was meddling in that department. There weren't too many options, and I agree with Ballard when he says drafting one isn't an exact science. If it were, then CJ Stroud who comes from Ohio State and tested poorly on the cognitive test, wouldn't be playing like he is. I agree on the Richardson statement, although I think he's shown us enough to know that he's very talented and brings a different dynamic to this offense. This team is winning with mediocre qb play from Minshew. I think we would be doing even better with a rookie Richardson. If he doesn't "hit" it will solely be due to injury. Injuries are what they are. Often bad luck, and there's a lot of luck that goes into winning championships. It's a game of inches after all.
  17. how is that an indictment on Ballard? That his defensive coordinator that was wildly successful here was hired as a head coach elsewhere and didn’t succeed? seems like Ballard got the current head coaching situation right…
  18. I don’t know about anyone else, but I get excited to think of a near future with AR, JT, Pitt and Downs spreading a defense out and stretching them downfield.
  19. I agree. I’m hopeful that this past offseason was a sign of that finally happening. you praise the gm, but meddle in the decision making. But at the end of the day, the guy is going to do whatever he wants.
  20. a fan? He’s the owner… and a passionate one that wants to be involved.
  21. EBUKAM AND DAYO. Gus’ defense is great when the front 4 are pressuring!!
  22. Signing off until the end. Come on Colts. Somebody make a play! Buckner, Franklin, Blackmon, anybody!!
