  1. Actually having a bad season here and there is not a bad thing for teams taking the goal of winning SB. Like the Steelers they have off years and they use these opportunities to draft talents such that they can come back stronger the next year.

But you are allowed a bad season but not this bad. Two years ago the team was in SB now they are free falling and at the bottom of all 32 teams. This is just ridiculous.

  2. If you have to explain then he's not the greatest. It would be, or is, apparent. The colts have been the worst team in the NFL the last 10 years?

    rooight.

Can't you see the logic? Colts has not been the worst in NFL in the last 10 years but I assume it is because of Manning. Removing him we should be among the bottom constantly. You have the proof in front of you now, 0-7 into the season, humiliated by one of the top5 teams, and having no sign of getting better.

Colts with Manning = playoff annually, 1SB win, 1SB loss

Colts without Manning = bottom of the 32 teams

Pats with Brady = playoff annually (I don't think he was the reason they won 3 SBs, his not making huge mistakes was. And that was long time ago.), 1SB loss

Pats without Brady = 0.5 game away from playoff

  3. He has never been more deserving than this year. This is too obvious and even Collinsworth brought up the comparison to the loss of Brady by the Pats and loss of BigBen by the Steelers. They should hand him the MVP every year no matter he plays or not until Colts finds their way to win without him, which may mean another 10 MVPs even when he sits on the couch for 10 yrs.

  4. OK many of you are asking for a new head coach now, but for me I just don't think this will solve any problem. Yes Caldwell has no clue what's going on, but you guys can think about any big name coach as try asking them to come here taking over one of the least talented team with an injured super QB and see if he likes to take the offer. For years Peyton is our coach on and off the field, but he is not effective once he is not on the field. Even you bring Bill Belichick here I doubt he can win more than 4 games.

If we still take winning SB as our goal instead of just going to the playoff for another 4 years, we should start rebuilding the team from bottom up. Forget about the offensive skill players and the secondary, we need a couple of years to take good DL, OL, and LB players from the draft. We have seen examples from GB's success and Detroit's bouncing back, they just have great players at these positions and other positions should be easier to take care of.

Of course we will need a great QB, but as far as such many positions will need fixing, when the project is done Manning will be in the last two years of his career and we may not be lucky enough to find his right heir after. Once he leaves there will be a huge hole to fill.

So here comes a solution: There is a college QB that most experts confirm to be the best in a decade coming into the draft next year. Therefore trading Manning is not a ridiculous option, even Tony Dungy proposed it. If Carson Palmer has the value of 1.5 first round picks, I just don't see Peyton worth less than one 1st rounder.

We free up some cap space and get Andrew Luck and use another 1st round pick to get a great DL or most talented skill player. Use other draft picks to address the DL OL and LB. We may suck for another year anyway but we could then get another bunch of good players to take Wayne and Addai's positions Then we should be good to go for another decade.

Yes if Peyton comes back healthy we should be able to make playoffs again, but it is almost impossible to win more than 1 playoff games since he can only make up for this poor team to that extent. We all saw last year that we won only 1 elite team (Giants?) and the old Colts golden days are gone. Less talented teams will always find ways to lose.

If we rebuild from bottom up we will need to have a much stronger and experienced head coach. Then Caldwell should go for sure.

  5. Showing this team on the national TV is a good way to explain why Peyton Manning as the greatest of all time has only 1 SB ring. Those claiming Brady, Rodgers and Brees as better QBs than Manning should now stop. In the sense of taking the worst team in NFL to playoff annually and win 1 SB, Manning is just ridiculously great.

  6. I will want to watch it anyway since I have been advised to start any player against Colts for my fantasy team and they will give you Pro-Bowl players' number. It was a huge consolation to see my teams suddenly outscoring the opponents with all my whatever Saints players starting. So I will go pick up the Pats players and see how they play.

  7. The FO does not like to keep good DB's in indy. They pay our 5 top players the money and the rest of the players are bums and UFA's.

FO should just resign and let someone else improve this team. Polian brought us the right players to win the SB, but he has become comfortable and spoiled and hasn;t done anything as far as improvemets in the last 3 years.

I just dont remember which of the early round draft picks after our SB win has been contributing. They have missed a bunch of times in a row and we suck at team talent level.

  8. This is what occurs when you hand the team off from a great coach to "next man up" vs. going out and getting the best coach. Having Manning out amplifies the Colts' problems but the arrow for this team has been pointing down since Dungy left.

This is the end result of years of our HC thinking the problem is "we got to block better, tackle better" talk. Jim Caldwell is a good man but an absolutely clueless HC. It is not his fault it is Polian's because this is what Polian wants. A puppet that will do whatever Polian wants and not question a thing.

To be honest I never thought coaching is that big a problem for this team since Peyton is our actual coach. However when he cannot get on the field the problem reveals - for me it is the level of talent. We just cannot execute anything right. Especially when our OK players are injured we are filled with plays that should have no business in any NFL team.

  9. Is this a keeper league? If not, how on earth did you get them both a round apart while drafting? :)

Falcons are pretty stout vs the run, so don't expect much from Addai vs the Falcons.

he might got foster when he was injured at the beginning of season.

now i dont see how comes ppl still think addai has any value... take whatever rb would outperform him.

  10. If you look at the last couple of years, how many Colts games are life and death until the last drive? The defensive being ripped apart?

I honestly thinking if Manning were playing, people would be talking about the improved Colts this year. The better running attack. The better run support. The defense wouldn't be ripped as bad because the offense would move the ball more and hold onto it longer. The Tampa-2 defense run as been a problem for years. Just with no offensive scoring, it makes it so much worse.

I agree this team has been improved in some phases, and if peyton were here he could have at least kept us in the competition and win us another playoff berth since the afc south sucks in general, but I just don't see this team anywhere need the top nfl elite teams anymore since other teams have been improved even more.

  11. One draft will not fix this team. This team needs years of drafting and FA in order to become elite again. I can't see Peyton beating good teams with majority of these players and the coaching staff. Sorry to say, but this season has shut the window for another Peyton SB ring even more.

Right! And strating from last season we only beat his brother but no other elite teams. Peyton was still that great peyton but there were no talents surrounding him.

  12. Actually less than 2 yrs ago we played a close game with these saints and lost in the 4th qtr. Today the game was over in less than 15 min. We are w/o minning, but the saints r much much better as a team than 2yrs ago, adding bunch of play makers. And they r maybe only one of the top 5 teams in today's nfl.

The sweet colts era is over. The team looks like dear grandpa's oldsmobile without its engine (peyton manning). Even if this car were still runnable, I just don't see it can keep up with others. What shall the organization do?
