  1. I don't understand why so many of you think the Broncos (even before acquiring Welker) aren't a team to contend with. If I recall correctly, they are currently tied for 2 for odds of winning SB next year. I'm doing this on my phone so I won't check. Odds makers and odds obviously aren't always right, but there's a lot of data crunched to realize those numbers/odds. Regardless of what anyone here thinks, according to Vegas, they're a real SB contender.

  2. Denver beat a single team with a winning record, if I'm not mistaken, a team that came back and stung them in the playoffs. We beat multiple playoff teams. I think that if we had played Denver, or if NE had, both teams would have won. Denver just wasn't meant for greatness this year. Next year, however, could very well be a different story...

Not responding to your comments above. Just a questions, isn't that Reggie Wayne for your avatar? Not knocking the avatar (or why you use it), just curious.

  3. Two of those teams handed the Colts losses...and yet somehow we only won because we are in a weak division...it's good to see someone else who doesn't "forget" these sort of things.

I know where all this anger is coming from, the title of this thread mentions Manning and Brady, but nothing of Schaub.

I'm just messin' with you. You have enough other posters to respond to. :yahoo:

  4. Let me put it to you this way: A bully picks on kids smaller than him. Three other bullies pick on kids just as big as they are, and beat them up convincingly. Bully who picks on smaller kids tries to fight against the other bullies who are experienced with kids his size or bigger...and he gets beat. Don't think I would say that I am surprised in this situation.

I should have posted my second reply to you this way so won't have to see it by chance. Don't worry about trying to agrue your point (unless you just like doing so). Obviously we see things differently.

  5. My brain must be getting close to E as the work day draws to a conclusion, becuase I still have not clue what you're saying.

Hold on a minute...I just figured out where everyone is getting these emoticons from. Let me try and find one appropriate... :wtg: . That is hilarious. We can use this and not get into trouble.

Perhaps it's me, but I don't understand your analogy.

Truly just trying to be funny there. Either way, don't worry about trying to get your point across any longer. Obviously we disagree.

  7. We should throw common sense into the discussion.

I'm not sure what you mean by this comment. Without going back to look at your comment I originally responded to, I thought you said most people thought Denver would be eliminated. It all depends on the "people" you're referring to. I'm not referring to a particular demographic. When I say most people, I mean that all-inclusive, considering national pundits, odds makers, etc. How is common sense lacking from this discussion?

  8. Had the time of the two games been reversed and knowing Ravens had already knocked the Pats out I'd lean toward Flacons maybe, since I find the Falcons team is built extremely similar to Manning's Colts in its prime. They have 2 WRs in White and Jones, we had Harrison and Wayne. They got Gonzalez and we had Clark. Offensive plays are called by QBs. Both have bad run defense as well. But to be honest this is a type of system built for regular season but not playoff success. The 49ers and Ravens, as reflection of each other, are more dependable models for winning playoff games.

Again, dead-on with what I was thinking.

  9. No, not just among my circle of friends. There were people here who said that the Broncos were going to be tested in the playoffs because they had not beaten any good teams. It seems those people were right.

Sure, people there would probably say that. They and your are entitled to your opinions as I am mine. FACT remains, the majority of pundits (guess that can't be proven, but everywhere I read/looked, majority picked Denver) and Vegas odds makers (can be verified) had Denver going all the way. Not Houston, New England, Baltimore or my beloved Colts (that will change though).

  10. Me too, so I was rooting for SF in the afternoon since I felt Falcons had no chance beating the Pats, but after Ravens took the lead in the 3rd qtr I was pretty sure it would not need another 2 weeks to see Pats fall again.

For all these final 4 AFC teams, I feel Ravens may not even make the playoff next yr since the defense will not be closely as good after Ray Lewis retires, and Pats are lacking sencondary and WR talents and pointing down. Colts is heading up but will still need some time, while Broncos is loaded with talents other than some problems on their secondary, so Manning could still make a strong run next yr.

Forgot to comment of this part...

I agree 100% with everything. Very excited about the Colts up and coming.

That's funny. I was rooting for SF too even though I'm from Georgia originally. Actually, I had mixed emotions about the game. I would have liked to see Atlanta win as it would make my father happy (he lives in Atlanta, GA), but knew SF had a better chance of defeating NE in the SB.

  12. After watching how Ravens manhandled Colts and Pats, it is clear that Manning's Broncos had the best chance to knock them out (actually too many missed opportunities and almost never trailed in the entire game). But it really looks like the Ravens are predestined this yr.

I agree, especially after going to NE and getting it done. I didn't give them much of a chance of defeating NE in NE. I was elated (sorry NE fans) to see Baltimore knock them out.

  13. Denver only played what, two teams with a winning record in the regular season and beat one of them. A lot of people thought they would be out early in the playoffs, they just weren't as formidable as the pundits made them out to be.

"A lot of people" is relative. I don't believe even close to the majority of pundits or people thought Denver would be out early. The majority of odds makers had Denver winning the SB. Obviously, just becaue the odds makers make odds doesn't mean it's going to happen (as is evident with Baltimore being in the SB), but there's some credence to their valuation methods. Perhaps among your circle of friends, the opinion Denver would fall early was prevalent, but not among the majority.

  14. Ravens said Manning couldn`t throw it like he needed beyond twenty yards so they adjusted.

We will see if he gets stronger as he gets another year older. IMO once they hit Manning a couple times he played worse.

The Ravens played well defensively against the Pats, without Gronk.

    Brady had 25 incomplete passes.

The Ravens Defense will surely go downhill with Ray leaving, maybe Reed too, and possible FA losses. Opens a window for Tom.

Like everyone, they both still need a lot of help to win Big games.

Hasn't he always played "dink and dunk" though? I heard that too and was wondering how they would know he couldn't just becasue he didn't.
