  1. Not wrong. But when your 0-13 and you call out seemingly the only guy who has legitimately done his job, it rubs people wrong.

Bill rubs people wrong daily, sometimes multiple times a day. That is who Bill Polian is. I think we just need to look at Bill as just not your normal GM/Vice Chairman and basically understand that he is a pain in the butt but someone who knows his job.

  2. While watching the Dan Patrick show this morning they had former Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson on and the top of Mr. Manning came up. JJ said that if it was his call he would tell Peyton either do a contract restructure or be released. Dan said he just doesn't see anyway that Peyton ever takes another snap with the Colts. Both feel age and injury is just at the point where it is in the best interest of the Colts to cut ties and move on.

However I think what everyone is not taking into account is the "Irsay" factor. I really think Jim Irsay view's Peyton differently then all the other players who have ever worn a Colt jersey. I think not only will Peyton be a Colt next year, that unless "Peyton" pushes the restructure, Irsay will pay him what they agreed to and the Colts will still draft Luck with the No. 1 pick.

  3. My first game at LOS was in 2008 vs. the Bears for the grand opening regular season game. That night was a little strange. I just had the sense that the fans weren't really into the game because so many of us were just checking out the new stadium and whining and moaning about our new seat locations, plus the Bears did a good job of taking us out of the game.

I bet if you go to one of the remaining games this year the atmosphere will be pathetic. LOS is a great modern stadium, the seats are comfortable and it is an interesting place just to look at, but with that being said, the atmosphere is pretty terrible compared to the dome. The place is too big, I got moved from the 10th row of the upper level in the dome, which were great seats, and got moved to the 600 level at LOS. The 600 level is ridiculously high and you are so far away from the action that you feel really detached from the game on the field, as opposed to the dome when everyone was right on top of the field.

Even the best "atmosphere" games at LOS, like New England in 2009 were nothing compared to the games in the dome.

We will be in Sec 610 about 12 rows up. I went to LOS when it first opened for a HS game but figure a Colt game will be a tad different. I have sat up high for other sporting events, so that should not bother me to much, just interested to see how it all is...

  4. This draft is in the hands of Peyton Manning, plain and simple. If Polian doesn't see massive improvement and playability out of Peyton before the draft I think he will go with Luck and use the other picks to add to the defense or take best player available at each spot. IF Peyton shows he is back 100% I think there is a "chance" he trades the pick and goes for 1 last run with Peyton over the final few years.

  5. The defense won't be the key, it will be the offense. If the offense can eat up some clock, move the ball and put up 20+ points like they did vs. the Pats, I think they could pull the upset, but if it's nothing but 3 and outs look for it to be 35-14 Titans..

  6. I will be making my first visit to Lucas this Sunday to see the Colts play. I am interested to see what it is like inside that huge place on game day. I had the chance to see a number of games at the Dome and while it was loud, it was a very bland place to me to see a game. I was wondering what those here who have been to a game at LOS thought on thier first visit.

  7. Division and No. 1 seed was wrapped up vs. the Jets in game 15. Pulled the starters in the 3rd quarter. Why start them at all? . Started them in game 16 in a blizzard vs Buffalo in Canada with Manning at QB for some irrellavent individual records. Only after they got their hundred catches or whatever recored Reggie and Dallas were after did he pull them.

Tony messed up not going for history at 14-0. Misguided concept rusting starters. We won the Super Bowl NOT rusting starters.

    Thanks for nuttin', Tony.

If players were Rusty as you claim (wrongly may I add) then how did we even get to the SB?

  8. And no one should argue that we shouldn't do a halfback pass from Joseph Addai. Most of the time these plays work, or at least they seem to work. Addai can make the throw I think, we just have to have the courage to call the play. Our players would love it and it would give us a ton of momentum.

How often do you see that play happen in the NFL?

  9. I think it might be foolish to put any stock into anything Polian says to the press. Colts could win a game and Caldwell still gets fired, or they could go 0-16 and he keeps his job. There are many factors I believe that will go into who is coaching this team next year and those factors may all not be known for a while.

  10. The actual contract status right now of Caldwell may play against him. With only 1 year left, it is easier for Irsay to eat that final year, it's tough for any coach no matter how well or poorly the team is playing to be coaching in the final year of his contract with no guarnetees of a renewel. So it could end up just being his contract that brings to an end the Caldwell era and not so much the play of the team...

  11. I will bet you your wrong, andrew luck looks good but lets crown him when he starts playing in the NFL.. as of now the man with the better stats is better not to mention you cant ignore his speed... one thing that separates him than other QB's like vick and young is the way he carries his self and his background that will definitely help him in the future. Only thing that separates RGIII from Luck is luck being "nfl ready".

Ben isn't fast, Tom isn't fast, Peyton isn't fast....being fast is nice, but I will take Luck over speed and take my chances...

  12. And yet they co-existed on the competition committee, with both persons alternating as the chair.

You can have ego as long as you have mutual respect, which there is between Fisher and Polian.

They probably do, but there is a huge difference in working with someone on a committe and being someone's boss.

  13. I think at this point neither Polian nor Irsay have decided. I think come the end of the season, all three men will sit down and discuss the past season, what happen, why it happen and what is needed to not repeat or even come close to a losing season. I think then Polian and Irsay may see what other options are out there and then wait to see what the final word on Peyton is before making a final call on Caldwell. Since there really isn't any rush, I don't think we will see a Monday firing the day after the Jax game.

  14. Because we are 1 play away from this season happening again. Overhaul the whole offense.. Put in something simple like a WCO.. Peyton would master it, and substandard QB's can be more efficient in it. Clyde isn't the reason our offense has been good over the years, and his offenses in Tampa were a key reason Dungy was fired there.

Peyton makes our offense efficient, otherwise it is very inefficient.

As long as Peyton is able, I just don't see him allowing any changes in the offense. He has shown that when working it is unstopable and I just think unless we change QB we are looking at the same style of offense under Peyton.

  15. Caldwell is here for 3 seasons and we have 2 winning seasons because of Peyton Manning. This is his 3rd year.

Tell me one classic coach move Caldwell did in the last 3 yrs ( there are a zilion bad ones ).

Now if you suggest, Irsay has to wait and give caldwell more time - more power to you.

Exactly what is a "classic" coach move?

I judge the players/coaches by their wins/losses. Overall right now Caldwell has a record of 26 wins and 22 losses I believe. That puts him at over .500. I then look at what the team went through injuries wise and factor that into it. From those numbers I would rate Caldwell as an average coach. Not great, not bad. But it doesn't matter what I think, the only opinion that matters is Jim Irsay and Bill Polian and I will respect whatever decision they make.

  16. I know you post ten times more then anyone else on here and basically just cause problems.

No I post what I believe. All I see here is hate and anger and for what reason? Because the Colts are having "A" bad season? I think everyone would be much better off if they just took a deep breath and relaxed a bit. People here take what Bill Polian says way to serious and worry way to much over how good our coach is or isn't.

Jim Irsay is a bright man, he has done wonderful things since taking over for his dad. Colt fans have been witness to some of the best overall football in the past 10 seasons that any NFL can could want. Lets just allow Mr. Irsay the time to review everything and do what he feels is the best for "his" team.

  17. Off the top of my head, you have Sean Payton, Mike McCarthy, Jim and John Harbaugh, Rex Ryan, Mike Tomlin and Gary Kubiak as non-former NFL head coaches who are doing great things right now. Even Belichick was a failed head coach who is making history. Big names former coaches are not necessarily the best way to go, and I don't think it will be the way the team does go.

NOTE: This was an edit, but it won't let me edit my old post. Can a mod tell me why that is?

Sean Peyton - Is he a good coach or is he just lucky to have probably the 2nd best QB in the NFL right now. Where are the Saints without Drew Brees?

Rex Ryan - Not a bad coach, but great?

Kubiak - was just about fired last year, now all of a sudden he is good because his team is winning this year? What about previous years when the Texans fell apart at the end of each year?

Jim Harbaugh - really we are ready to crown him good after 13 games?

McCarthy - where is he without Aaron Rogers?

  18. You don't go 0-16 in one season. 0-16 is a fundamental breakdown on multiple levels throughout years. It's years of bad drafting, current coaching and injuries. This season is a culmination.

Not in our case. Do you believe this team would be 0-13 right now if Peyton was playing and near 100% in health? I doubt it, I would say we would be maybe 9-4 or 8-5 at worse. With the final 3 games we have I think the Colts with Peyton would finish with 11-12 wins...do you disagree?
