  1. Its the 15th....The game is the 1st..I thin he is somewhat familiar with our offense..

..and reportedly he knows one or two of the players..

..You'll get a kick out of it when it happens...

Okay lets say he plays...and given how little prep and practice he has had he goes and loooooooks horrible, looks worse then ever before, takes hit after hit after hit from Jville and ends up the night looking worse then Dan O. has looked, which is a HUGE possibility...what then?

  2. Spoken like someone who is not a player..

You still hear it mentoned about how bad that Tampa team was.

Its about pride....and as a player..I dont think you want to have an 0-16 season on your record.

You may know someone from a high school or college.

Ask them what it would be like to go winless in their sport..

They would kill to go back and get just one win.

Then magnify the small high school or college experince to the pro level..

    To me, its obvious

As a player I would think you could handle 1 bad season over continual bad season after bad season after bad season. I don't think there is 1 player on the Colts team that feels that with a heathy Peyton and a few other players that not only would the team be winning, but probably would be contending for the division title again. Meanwhile you have franchises who lose season after season and see very little hope....to me that would be much tougher to deal with.

  3. ....

WE'RE TANKING THE SEASON FOR LUCK.

The only reason Caldwell is still here is because of this on fact.

Polians are safe because they sold this to Irsay.

Question is, are the Polians smart enough to fire Caldwell before this becomes to obvious? I'd say as soon as we clinch the pick he is gone.

This whole idea of tanking is so funny. Have you watched this team play? They are going out and battling game in and game out...

  4. There have just 2 teams to play an entire season and not win a game. The Tampa Bay Bucs and the Detroit Lions. Now the Colts are on the verge of possibly it happening here. So outside of going winless in the season, what true "harm" comes to a franchise from going winless?

Tampa Bay has a SB title, the Lions have put together a good base of young good players that have resulted in winning football. Neither team is struggling in the fan base area and both have wonderful new or pretty new stadiums. Both are being seen on prime time games and both have quality players playing in the pro bowl or will be.

So extactly what is the big deal?

  5. Him playing prove she can for purposes of the future and the draft....

If he can play on Jan. 1..he can play on Sept. 1

He can show the Colts in practice and such his physical ability. I want him to take his time in rebuilding muscle strength and such and not risk other injury by rushing. I want to see him throw in Mid jan then again in Feb and then March before the draft, I and the colts don't need to see him in a meaningless game to know anything.

  6. He's been cleared to practice..dn....

You want him to choose not to play?

I really don't care what Peyton thinks, wants or such. He is a player, a player who has done nothing for almost 12 months due to a sever injury. The game is the final game of a season in which the outcome has no baring what so ever on the Colts in any way outside of it just being the final game. You have a QB healthy and a backup who is healthy, to put Manning on the field would prove nothing and have more negative results then positive.

  7. Its not about me..You can see the signs...

Maybe Peyton Manning does not want to go winless...

I'm curious as to why you dismiss it as insane and dangerous..

    Its football..he's a player...Let a player play.

To play this game at the high level it demands, it requries the players to be in top physical form and have countless hours of practice and prep. Something Peyton has not had. We saw back a couple of seasons when Peyton missed almost all if not all of training camp and then tried to play in the home opener vs the Bears. how did that go? Right now going with Peyton in the final game is just flat out stupid. He won't be ready, the team won't care and his body isn't ready.

Again there is zero to be gained, why risk your investment on something that you gain nothing from no matter the end score?

  8. I dont know about horses (The white horse is a Colt, isnt it??)

But I think he'd going to play the final game.

You guys act like you havent followed him for 10 years and I KNOW you have...

He is OK..He is throwing. If he practices the final week..why should he not play? Why should he not ask?

He will ask to play if we're 0-15 and you know he'll ask?

..and who will say "No'...we'll go with Orlovsky"

He won't be ready. There is no way his body can be ready for an NFL game in 3 weeks after having like what 12 months off. He is human, not superman. He knows it, the team knows and most logical fans know it. Dan O. will be the starting quarterback for the last 3 games...book it.

  9. Then don't sign them to such big contracts. If by having a Dwight Freeney for example on the team prevents you from having a decent defense, then why let 1 player hurt the overall performance of your team. Not specifically Dwight Freeney, but if you can't have a competitive team because of a guy, then why have that guy?

I don't disagree, I wouldn't have resigne him or Dallas or possibly even Peyton, you might have spent the money better, but what would the fans have said?

  10. All these coaches getting fired but not Caldwell!!!!!!!!!!! Why??? This is absurd!!! Do Something!!! Before it's too late.... We need a lot of changes for next year starting with the Head Coach!!! FIRE HIM NOW SO WE CAN PREP FOR NEXT YEAR!!!!!!!!!! WE CAN HAVE A SUPERBOWL TEAM IF THINGS GET FIXED NOW!!!

0-13 WHAT A WASTE!!! HOW CAN WE BE THIS BAD WITH ALL THE TALENT WE HAVE!! THIS IS CLEARLY CALDWELL'S FAULT AFTER THE SUPERBOWL LOST AND LAST YEARS PLAYOFF LOSS AGAINST THE JETS DUE TO TIME MANAGEMENT!!! THIS GUY IS NO GOOD FOR THE TEAM!!!

OH I JUST WANT TO SAY I'M TIRED OF HEARING EVERYONE SAYING MANNING WILL GO TO ANOTHER TEAM!! THESE RUMORS NEED TO STOP!!! MANNING LOVES INDIANAPOLIS AND WILL NEVER LEAVE!!! HE HAS BEEN TREATED GREAT BY THE WHOLE COLTS STAFF AND THE FANS SO HE WOULD NEVER DO THAT BECAUSE HE MEANS SO MUCH TO THIS ORGANIZATION!!! IF ANYTHING HE WILL RETIRE NEXT YEAR AS A COLT NOT LIKE BRETT FAVRE DID!!! STOP THE LIES!!! THE SPECULATION!!! THE RUMORS!!!

THE NEXT AND ONLY STORY I WANT TO HEAR IS...... CALDWELL FIRED!!!!!

A good organziation knows when it's time to cut ties with a player who has peaked and is on teh down side no matter how popular said player is..

  11. Caldwell should be sent packing regardless but if 0-16 is what has to happen then so be it. We need him out of here. I'lll endure 0-16 if it means with a certainty that Caldwell is gone.

I don't expect the Polians will be going anywhere though. I think Irsay will give them a chance to turn this around with the high draft picks that they have manage to swindle through their calculated questionable manipulations. The Polians must feel good about the ruse they were able to pull over the league. Making an 0-16 season seem like a feasible, acceptable, believable outcome for a team with this much play-off experienced veteran talent even minus Manning. I've seen worst Colts teams talent-wise go 3-13, 2-14, or even 1-15. We will be picking 1st in April...mission accomplished Polians.

Lets say their was a "plan" in place to do that, what a great plan. You sacrifice 1 season for another decade long run. I would take that any day and twice on Sunday.

  12. So we should just ignore every other part of the team except for having HOF qb's because of Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady? Btw, thats what we have been doing, and its not working so well when hes down.

When Brady went down, they did have a defense, and Cassel wasn't inept. We haven't seen the Pack without a HOF QB, so who knows. The Indianapolis Colts win and loose with Peyton Manning. That is why you can plug in any WR/TE and see them produce. Without him, well someone took the motor out of our corvette and put a golf cart engine in it.

It's a risk you take, and out of say 12 years, it worked for 11 of those...you wouldn't take those odds?

  13. I keep saying /////There's a reason he's not on injured reserve..and its not for practice

Why is he 'ramping up' his throwing.....?

Detroit is know as having the worst team of all time..dn...that's how this has hurt their franchise.

Its a stink that wont wash off.

You will tell a healthy Peyton Manning he is NOT PERMITTED TO PLAY??

    Really?

The stink will vanish...go ask Detorit

Peyton is not healthy, he is healing but no where near 100% healthy

He will have had less then a month of being able to do anything, remember how he did last time he wasn't able to prepare in a full preseason

There is no difference in 1-15 and 0-16...NONE.

  14. Oh yeah of course, but not having a QB isn't on Caldwell. That is the Polians to blame for that issue.

Am I saying that Caldwell is good? Lol no, but when the talent (Peyton) was there, no Colts fan was thinking anything below 9-7.

The underlying problem is we rely on Peyton way to much. Its a QB driven league because its hard to win without one, not you should gear your team to be weak if you don't have one.

Example, Matt Ryan gets drafted by the Falcons. They had a running game, and an established defensive identity. Mark Sanchez (who sux I know), they run the ground and pound or w/e, and use there defense. They don't win solely on there QB. Then there's the Baltimore Ravens in 2000, who everyone knows didn't have a QB, but still won.

You win and loose with QB play, but if you don't lean on the QB so hard then when hes gone you can still compete. With Peyton we are not a 0-16 team because we are geared to be what we are. Score non stop, play prevent. Obvious stuff, but we aren't loosing now because we are a bad team, we are loosing because we are not flexable. This team runs one way and one way only, and that way is revolved around Peyton.

Look at both the Pats and Packers this year. Neither team have any kind of running game, both have defensives with HUGE question marks. Both teams are where they are due to 1 person, their QB. When you have the talent that they have and we have/had with Peyton, it is able to hide many other problems and you can be successful.

  15. Not a chance, he won't be able to. He will have had zero time to get his body in shape and be anywhere near game ready, the game means nothing and there is no reason to even consider it.

Exactly how did going 0-16 damage Detroit? By going 0-16 were they banned from post season play for X amount of seasons? By going 0-16 did they forfiet any or all of their TV revenue? By going 0-16 have they lost their fan base and are unable to see tickets to games? Exactly WHAT did going 0-16 do to the Lions?

  16. In complete honesty, the Polians are completely responsible for this, not Caldwell.

I'm not a Caldwell supporter, but its not because of him we are going to go 0-16/1-15/2-14/3-13. We went 14-2 with him, so even if it was because of Manning, he still did this. I doubt he's running things to much differently now that he did then. Therefor, if he can run the team and we go 14-2 potentially 16-0, then obviously there's another factor that forcing this team to go so low record wise.

Obviously that factor that changes is the Peyton Manning, but if you look at the bigger picture its personnel. Peyton is personnel, and if we say that the Colts don't have good enough personnel to prevent them from going winless. That is entirely on Polian.

to me it's a 50/50 split. There is a good amount of talent on this team, not tons but enough to be a factor. What is missing is a good QB. If we even had an average QB the Colts would be looking at maybe 3-4 wins at this point in the season. Still not great, but better. This is a QB driven league and without someone who can move the ball and score points you are going to be horrible. Look at Chicago, they were winning games and on their way to the playoffs and now? Both the coaching staff and Polian either didn't allow Painter enough time to play and show he couldn't play or they were just clueless on him.

  17. No, Poorly and limitless!

When it comes to the Polians selecting their next head coach it is going to be limited to me because they are only going to look at a select few that fit the mold, also alot will be based off the direction the franchise is going over the next decade, are we going Peyton free or will we try to make 1 more run with Peyton.
