Gotta Love Clapton, Stevie Ray, Neil Young, & CSN. Much obliged RR7 & BR-549.

You 2 can pick songs any day of the week fellas. Nicely done gentlemen.

"Can't Find My Way Home" with EC & Steve Winwood never gets old.

It still amazes me that little Stevie Windwood played at 15 with Santana..

Diamond Dave's fireworks & apple pie isn't quite the same thing as you had at your grandmas house in the Summertime now is it? Wink; Wink.

I was always amazed at the elevation DLR achieved when he jumped into the air live on stage. He always landed as smoothy as a cat too.

Yes I do, I like many different genres of music.  Though old fashioned rock and roll is my favorite.

Ronnie even makes getting dumped by a woman sound like a right of passage & badge of honor.

Jesus, I bleeping love this song. It always cuts through me emotionally no matter how often I hear it.

My apologies for posting another "Temple Of The King" Rainbow cover, but it's incredible though.

Yeah, I have a soft spot for Rainbow material. I'll own that.

"She Tastes Just Like A Woman But She Breaks Just Like a Little Girl." A great line.

Ritchie Havens does a fantastic cover of this track BTW.

We need a strong protest singer now more than ever....

Man, I miss Johnny Cash & Bob Dylan. I like singers who stand for something & not get consumed with personal brands & marketing.

Even John's duo's are freaking great man, Exhibit A: Martina McBride...

Exhibit B: The legendary Travis Tritt:

The reason I love John is that he is a friend to the working man & blue collar woman.

John even makes accordions sound popular & mainstream.

He's a real artist because he sounds good live.

I've said this before. To me, Indiana is the Colts, the Pacers, David Letterman, & John Mellencamp.

I know. I gotta give Bobby Knight some love too.

I'm still stunned that Dave didn't have John on his final week on late night. Mellencamp is to Indiana what Springsteen & Bon Jovi are to New Jersey man--An icon to their birthplace.

  10. RIP Chris Cornell...one of the most iconic voices of the last 30 years.  This comes from "Temple of The Dog", the next one will as well.  This was a collaboration of Soundgarten and Green River (Early Pearl Jam) as a tribute to "Mother Love Bones" prodigy Andrew Wood...who overdosed.  Quite the irony.  Say hello to heaven Chris and for all those that think people have it made because they are famous...the psyche tells a different tale...

You know you have made it by the quality of covers amateur performers do in your honor...

Other then getting sued, this is the benchmark of becoming a household name.

    3. southwest1

      southwest1

I keep thinking of Chris's lyrics from his song "Shadow Of The Sun" in light of how he passed away.

Once upon a time I was of the mind
      To lay your burden down

And leave you where you stood
      And you believed I could
      You'd seen It done before
      I could read your thoughts
      Tell you what you saw
      And never say a word
      Now all that is gone
Over with and done - never to return

      [Chorus 1:]
And I can tell you why
      People die alone
      I can tell you I'm
      A shadow on the sun

      Staring at the loss
      Looking for a cause

      And never really sure
      Nothing but a hole
      To live without a soul
      And nothing to be learned

      [Chorus 2:]
And I can tell you why
      People go insane
      I can show you how
      You could do the same
      I can tell you why
      The end will never come
      I can tell you I'm
      A shadow on the sun

      Shapes of every size
      Move behind my eyes
      Doors inside my head
      Bolted from within
      Every drop of flame
      Lights a candle in

      Memory of the one
      Who lives inside my skin

      [Chorus 2:]
And I can tell you why
      People go insane
      I can show you how
      You could do the same
      I can tell you why
      The end will never come
      I can tell you I'm
      A shadow on the sun"

Chris was an exceptional writer, artist, & composer that's for sure. I just wish we would stop losing musicians of high caliber & sophistication though. Can't we lose some cookie cutter boy bands instead? I mean does anybody miss manufactured corporate; no name talent? Hades no.

Checkout Nora Jones paying tribute to Chris. Very well done. I'd expect nothing less from her.

Neil Young is as legendary as they come. He has covered pretty much all music styles and his work with Crazy Horse is too great for words.

I liked what he said when he said he just plays one long song.

Feel free to add...we have a nation that is divided and it is sad.  We all mostly want the same things but political division feeds the train that rips us all off.  Be wise next time America.

I know I said no political rants...I lied.

Neither choices they gave us in the end were all too great. I did vote for choice B who lost, but I preferred choice C who lost in the primaries to choice B.

Not trying to get political with names but you catch my drift if you catch my drift.

I honestly get so burned out on politics lately, I agree at times.......sometimes just music is better. I tuned a lot of it out lately and just kinda said screw it.

      Oh.......anti war btw?

  15. We have a joke masquerading as the POTUS........wake up.  If you don't like what I have to say....too bad!  I felt like listening to some guys who changed music in the 60's...

Remember this if somehow the draft gets reinstated.....while I appreciate anyone's service, there needs to be a relevant reason!  Also remember those who ran from it who condone it!

Neil Young and Steven Stills both came from Buffalo Springfield. Them, the Hollies and the Byrds was the starting of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.

What a super group especially at the time.

Yes it is....and I plan to do something about it.  We are a country of diversity and we have embraced it as such, until a con man with a twitter account sought to divide us....for his own financial gain.

I respect other's views but I can not, or will not, accept the fraud that is being perpetrated on the American public anymore.
