  1. Wade Phillips turned one of the worst defenses in the NFL to one of the best this season. And Peyton Manning is just a joke lol :)

..As a coordinator. We've all seen what he can as a HC, which was really a whole lot of nothing.

Give me Spagnolo. He's already comfortable with Irsay's Jet already..

  2. I dont understand why you would want to go 3-4 we have two of the best DE's in the buisness who we are our 2 best players on defence who get all of our pressure and cause most of our turnovers and you want to get rid of them both leaving our defence with what no pass rush or big time players. All we need to do is get Spags or Del rio to use them more effectively look what Murphy did whith our defence so what could a top quality co-ordinator do with it.

Thats interesting with the Del Rio case. I wouldn't mind having him as our D Coordinator at all. Even though Jacksonville was always medicore at best, their defense was always pretty good.

  3. that is a problem. More than likely we will pick him and it will set this team back for years. A team with teo qbs has no qb. We already have the best qb to play the game. To draft another qb with that top pick will be a huge waste. We could trade that pick and set this team up for years to come. But instead were gonna take that qb and hes gonna get.impatient sitting and we will see manning pushed out the door before his time is up.i dont buy this rebuilding crap. We have been a playoff team for many years with the same roster. So why do we need to rebuild

Really? We've been a playoff team for many years? Then why weren't we in the playoffs this year?

You obviously have no idea how the league works and that its a business that is constantly changing and turnover rate is higher than most cooporations. Point being: You have to take Luck and prepare him for when Peyton is gone in 2-4 years. We can still set this team up to win with Luck and drafting good in the later rounds like we have done in the past before Polian lost his touch.

  4. How can you tell if not quit on them? There was a few games it seemed so.

The way the players played and how they acted in the locker room. When you heard that players on the Chargers were slowly giving up on the team, you never heard that about the colts...We just sucked lol

  5. i guess ppl dont realize the average life span of an nfl player. Ppl automatically think this guy is gonna play 15 years. That is absolutely nuts to think that. And as another poster said. They are sick of hearing all the luck will be a bust threads. Im sick of hearing the luck will be our pick guaranteed threads

The problem is, he more than likely will be our guranteed pick. In fact, I'll bet you any amount of money that we will draft him.

  6. In my opinion... Practically any new coach they choose would be equal or better than Caldwell.

I mean not exactly, some of these new coaches can barely even keep their team together. Atleast the guys never quit on Caldwell last year.

  7. Thats the whole thing here too. Even though some want Caldwell out, who is out there to replace him that would be as equal? I think at this point you have to keep him atleast for another year and if the Colts struggle next year, you don't resign him.

  8. Caldwell has got to the playoffs as many times as Mike Tomlin and Bill Belichick in the last 3 years and he has the same playoff record as Tomlin without dick Lebau running his defence and probably better than Belichick's as well. He has an arguable better record than Rex Ryan and never lost our team and commands respect from his players and inspires them to keep going. There is a reason why both Manning and Irsay back him. So he is far from the worst coach in the league which is why Manning and Irsay are backing him. Get him a DC (Spagnuola) quick and we will get a :lombardi: !!!

Man I hate to agree but you do present some crediable facts. Who knows, this could be a blimp on the radar and we could pick it up next year with a new DC.

  9. Keeping Caldwell for right now is far and away the most logical choice. There is enough going on right now without dumping all the coaches as well. Despite what some seem to think, the Colts are NOT the St Louis Rams - throwing out the baby, the bathwater, the bathtub, and starting over clean. If Grigson decides over time that he'd prefer another coach, he can let Caldwells contract expire and replace him next year - earlier in the offseason and after a proper search - when he is the established GM instead of a newbie who is still trying to figure out where the office supplies are kept.

Even though most of us want Caldwell out, this is the most logical choice. And if Caldwell does indeed prove himself this year to either be a good or bad coach, we can make the choice as his contract is up next year anyway.

  10. Marino made it to the super bowl in his 2nd year in the league. If he had to sit behind another quarterback for a few years he would have never got the chance to play in a sb. Luck is not excited about sitting behind Manning and Peyton has never said anything about how "teaches" other qb's so there's no benefit to either of them to play together.

Cool, he played in one and his only super bowl in just his 2nd year. Please tell me what he did after that? Just because Luck isn't excited about doing it, doesnt mean it wont be beneficial. And yes Peyton doesnt say anything about teaching other QB's, he just DOES it on the sidelines and host passing camps every year.

  11. So maybe he isn't skilled at slinging ^cowpatties^. You were looking for the politically correct answer, what you got was an honest answer. Do you think that Peyton would have been happy to come out of college and sit behind a hall-of-famer? Athletes want to play, and althletes are confident in their own abilities. Anyone who is honestly delighted at the prospect of sitting on the bench is someone who you wouldn't want to have on your team in the first place.

And this is one of the reasons that I'd prefer that the Colts trade the pick. If he is as good as advertised, one of the two will have their careers tainted. Peyton, by possibly being forced out of the stadium that wouldn't exist without him, Luck by being forced to throw away a portion of his career. This is going to be ugly either way.

You think Aaron Rodgers is saying he threw away a portion of his career when he has a championship now and is argueably in better shape health wise than he would of had he started right off the bat? Heck, most qb's don't even come close to sniffing a championship and have started all of their career (Marino).
