  1. I dont watch Ohio State...is Tressel any good in front of the camera? Press conference, locker room, etc?

He is and actually according to Rich Nye from channel 13, Tressel has already gotten 2 CONFIRMED INTERVIEWS with the Colts. Me, along with all the other conspiracy theorists heads are about to explode lol.

Theres also a twitter link as well:

  2. For someone who makes logical sense I would think you would see the major problem of having both on the roster....

What? Money? Please don't get me started on those man. If we have Luck and Manning together on the roster next year, we will essentially be doing the same thing this year with what we did with Collins, only this time Luck inplace of Collins would be an investment for the long-term instead of 1 year bench warmer.

  3. You do realize that plans dont always go the way they are suppose to right? the playbook was simplified for BOTH collins and painter.. what do you want them to do put in in crayons? it didnt not work simply because the defense they played figured it out.

First of the colts run one of the most simple offenses in the NFL peyton only made it look hard because of his work ethic and how he perfected it, which is proabably why the colts always failed alot in the playoffs but thats another story.

Why do you think people and brodcasters were able to call what plays the colts were going to run before they ran it? because it was already baby's food... the failure layed mostly on the QB's not Clyde... they ran the same plays with peyton how come he didnt fail?

Did you see orlovsky's last game? it wasnt exactly drew bree's out there.

On Coyer almost the same thing could be said, coyer had success because he had players like hayden who excelled well in zone and last year they did blitz more than they did in the 2011 i believe.. When Coyer was fired Mike came in and he actually ramped up the cover 2 and they paid for that in the Pats game.

Why was coyer fired during the season when he could have been fired after? it was evident coyer didnt like what was going on, from the time he said "ask the HC about tryon".

Point is some of you think you actually know how to judge a HC or Coordinator when you really dont, Clyde ran some really good plays during the season to convert on 3rd downs and he put his players in positions to produce but unfortunately they didnt..

We all know if peyton was out there he would make Clyde look good, unfortunately for him he had to depend on orlovsky, painter and collins....... so how is that his fault?

Great post. I think if we have Peyton come back, you have to keep him on board.

  4. He won't believe we r going with luck even when he takes his first snap and manning has retired/moved on. He will still say the colts r just going to let everyone see how good luck is, then trade him for a bounty of picks and manning will come out of retirement to join the colts again on our way to not 2 not 3 not 4 not 5 not 6 but 7 championships. Then manning will play to be 55 and then we take mannings twins in the draft one being our qb the other being our star WR and the goat will be our new owner/HC/OC/Back up qb. Very exciting

lmao I'm putting this in my sig as the greatest post of all-time.

  5. I definitly know about Sweater Vest. Over rated coach. When you turn your head to players that are breaking rules, that is a character issue. And watch your mouth about Michigan fans.

You really don't know what you are talking about. That's not a character issue at all. Let me put it to you like this and I've used this example before.

Lets say in theory (I dont know how old you are but just work with me here) you go to Mcdonalds after Ohio States big win over Michigan and your son is the starting QB for the team. The manager notices this and says "hey your kids that Ohio State QB, meals on me tonight guys good win!". You and your son gladly accept and smash 4 Big Macs in a matter of minutes. BEEEP you just violated the NCAA rules.

  6. May not be the popular opinion but I also think he would succeed as head coach. He has years of coaching experience and lets face it, he knows how to build, motivate and win. He proved that at Ohio State (apart from his questionable actions leading to his departure). He's innovative and if were just gonna hire from the vast pool of OC's and DC's from other NFL teams, why not? He's been with the franchise and knows the players. Could get him for a song so what do u have to lose. Every single possible hire ur taking a chance anyway.

    Tough crowd.

Tressel is NOT a character worry.

He decided not to share information about a player.

    He didnt pay anyone

    He didnt molest children

    He didnt recruit illegally

    He made a mistake.

There is something in the Good Book that says, about throwing a stone if you yourself are perfect....

All the guy has ever done, is WIN. Caldwell LOST at the college level....... He got a coaching job in the NFL.

Tressel won many national championships, over several years at a division 1 team.

He only won one national championship at Ohio State, but was a constant top rank in the top 5.

Much better than the previous 2 OSU coaches.

The players have always loved and repected the man.

He probably wont get the HC position, but hasnt been let go. They have a position for him i am sure.

But those that try to make him out to be horrible, are either inbred Michigan fans (aww shut up....... Just bustin on ya)

OR....... They dont have any idea about Tressel

If he was chosen........... I would support it as a fan 100%

Both of these quotes completely summarize what I believe in how we should give Tressel a chance.

  7. Sorry but I have to ask when did rookie QBs start playing a role in defensive ranking? LOL.

Because rookie QB's don't stay on the field and then your defense is therefore on the field more. We saw it this year with us. You struggle at the QB position, your team goes 3 and out and your defense is put out there for a insane amount of minutes.

Also, I didn't mean to cite BBS as a crediable source, I just threw it out there incase someone was like "ESPN DOESNT KNO ANYTHIN BOUT THE COLTS!!111"

  8. Even before the addition of the fullback, the offense should have been altered as soon as Manning goes under the knife for the 2nd time.

I completely agree with this notion. Although I must add I'm not sure how much you can get altered with a shortend training camp and what not.

Collins didn't have time to knock a dent in the playbook. Painter had no business running the Manning offsense as it was and for the most part Orlovsky was running a more balanced plan after they finally made some changes in week what 12? 13?

    Agree here. This is coaching.

To have Curtis Painter throwing passes at a higher ratio than Manning has(outside of of the last 3 years), Brady for each year except for this past one, is just.... I'm not sure what word would even begin to describe how dumb that is.

    Agreed.

Polian has some blame in that, Caldwell has some blame in that, and the OC has to have some blame in that. It also seems Coyer's defense changed when Freeney got hurt in the playoff game vs. the Jets when he should have been on the sideline. His defense was far different that first year than it was since then.

Yeah I'm not sure why Coyer started this new ultra-conservative-let the other team drive down the field methodically and score- defense

  9. You could be right but he should have been the first out the door, even before Coyer.

Eh, I'm not so sure about that. I still feel like the Polians held SO MUCH influence over the coaches that they couldn't really change the offense to fit not having Manning. Partly because we didnt have the personell and partly because coaching probably didn't know wth to do.

  10. I fully expected the Colts to be a playoff team this year if Peyton had played. As someone pointed out, this team wasn't that different than the Super Bowl team. I think the running attack got better. Defense looked bad, but they were on the field so much it really showed.

I do think this season was a blessing. It really showed to everyone how flawed the Colts makeup is. They are not balanced, have had too many injuries for too long, and too much reliance on one player. So I think Irsay saw an opportunity to change that direction and try to get them more like a 49er type team that is very balanced.

I think the Colts will be in the playoffs next year if Manning is healthy, because he shows that as long as he is back there, they can compete with anyone.

    +1 reputation points

  11. http://www.stampedeblue.com/2012/1/19/2718947/colts-reportedly-will-interview-mike-zimmer-for-head-coaching-vacancy

If this is true, I hope we don't waste a whole lot of time in bringing him in. He's already interviewed in Miami and Tampa Bay and I think the way he leads that defense in Cinnci would be perfect for our team. Irsay and Grigson have talked about finding that "leader of men" and Zimmer fits that description perfectly. The Bengals players rave about him and he has consistently had that defense up there in the top ten, even this year with a rookie QB. Lets get him.

  12. Well the Tressel discussion from above seems to be a moot point now.

    http://www.stampedeb...next-head-coach

I take what BBS says with a grain of salt and his only source is himself in stating that Tressel won't be a new HC.

Also, someone mentioned Mike Martz as OC. Martz just announced his retirement from football so thats not happening.

I like the idea of the Saints OC coming in, when he took over the play calling, the Saints offense soared to new heights and overcame 5 turnovers to still put up 32 points against a VERY GOOD San Fran defense. Let him come in and either teach Luck to be all he can be or help add Peyton some new wrinkles into our very predictable offense.

  13. That's what he said, but if I am an incoming GM, I am going to ask for the power to make personnel decisions. I can't imagine a GM not asking for that power. That is essentially what a GM does.

Lol so you are trying to infer that because thats what YOU would do, thats what HE should do, even though HE said that he wasn't going to do that. Your point has no merit.
