Yes but most QBs can throw go routes, it’s not a complicated pass. It’s more about timing than anything else.

It wasn’t right, Goodson, with his six career catches shouldn’t have been on the field and the target of the most important play of the season. This is the same crud people got mad at Reich for (rightfully so) when he would take Taylor out and try to force the ball with Hines.

Which they did when they took Taylor out and put Goodson in there. Everyone knew Goodson wasn’t getting a handoff there which you can tell by the way the Texans played it. They played it for a pass to Pittman. If nothing else Taylor on the field probably makes the defense stack the deck for him and opens up someone else. Again, there were other options. The play design was solid no one has argued that. What people don’t like was the personal usage because putting the season in the hands of your back up QB and practice squad level RB with six career catches is a recipe for disaster and we saw the disaster in terms of how they didn’t execute it.

They could have always had Downs do his come back to the running back and rotate back out bit he does and been in that spot. As for Taylor maybe not maybe so, we will never know. There is also the option you didn’t have to call that play. It doesn’t mean it was a bad play design but I am also sure it wasn’t the only option in that situation and probably one that was better than depending on a guy who had six career catches and had very limited action in the game and a back up QB executing it no matter how good of a design the play was.

Taylor was literally on the field the play before and who they used to get down the field with the injury and Shane said after the game Taylor was fine. So the Taylor was hurt stuff is just attempt to shift the blame. Shane made the call to take Taylor out put Goodson in because he felt Goodson was the best option for the play because he was the pass catching back (which I disagree with idea that a guy with six career catches is now your pass catching back) and said so last night. As someone else said stop trying warp reality.

Ballard didn’t put Goodson in the game there Shane did. I agree it doesn’t make Shane a bad catch but just because he’s done a good job doesn’t make him immune from criticism when he makes a mistake.

We’ve seen Cox make those catches in that area of the field and it’s normally for six. Either way that was on Minshew and not Cox unless Cox secretly has go go gadget arms we don’t know about.

Josh Downs says hi and since Reggie Wayne has only been here for two years and only really had two draft picks to work with I think that would be a little premature, also there is lots of evidence to show Pierce’s problem is more them not going to him when he’s open. I’ve been very out spoken about Pierce but I have to admit the past two weeks Matt Ryan and Troy Aikman did a really good job spot lighting how the Colts weren’t using Pierce and it’s causing me to rethink my stance.

Not saying JT is CMC but he is more experienced at catching passes than Goodson. Also at the risk of being emotional and pounding the same sand, I’ve said and stand by there is no guarantee the play would have worked any better with Taylor, it might have failed just as badly or worse but I would preferred to see it tried with him over Goodson.

Go back and watch the Colts pre-manning, especially the 1991 Colts or the 2011 Colts to see the worst season in Colts history. As for handing Pinter the starting RG spot it was the same move most fans called for based on his performance filling in for Kelly the year before. Heck even before this season some fans were calling for letting Kelly go and playing Pinter at center. There is also a big difference between 2021 and this years team. 2021’s team was supposed to be a playoff team that got blown out vs the worst team in the league that year in the last game. This team was thought by many to win three to five games before they lost their new franchise QB for the year and got beat in a one score game vs a playoff team to keep them out. That’s not a collapse that’s a major overachievement.

You do realize taking subtle shots like this is just going to make people respond right? Also just because someone doesn’t like the personal package doesn’t mean they are having an emotional reaction anymore than people who did like it and keep repeating themselves.
