I seriously do not get how Ozzy is still alive....I've read Bob Daisley's books and Ozzy was a wreck all the way back in 1980 during the records of that debut album. All those stories from the Black Sabbath band members, especially Iommi and their managers detailing where Ozzy was a complete drugged out wreck in the late 70's, those sentiments are repeated in Ozzy's ex-band mate's books and their memoirs. 

Ozzy said it himself a few years back that he feels like he's living on borrowed time, so even he is shocked himself he's still alive.

But still seriously speaking, as bad as Kieth Richards has been since the early 70's, it's still like nothing compared to the Ozzy drug stories. If you ever get into those, you'll be shocked Ozzy is still alive. Kieth shot heroin in his eye balls, Ozzy snorted ants one time and it was common during the 1982 tour for him to be such a drugged up wreck, he had problems performing all the way back then.

Oh yes, the ant story...I think it was someone from Motley Crue who came out with that. 

Nikki Sixx's book "The Heroin Diaries" is the most sincere rock memoir I've ever read and the absolute saddest. His drug stories are bad, but there is a true sense of authenticity and sincerity in his book that makes it honest and believable, something that is absent from the countless Ozzy books and Slash, who in a way, were kinda bragging about their stuff. In Nikki's book, it collected diaries from the mid 80's, so it was sincere to the point it was written on record at the time. 

Ozzy back in 1981 and 1982 used to stay so drugged up and such a wreck ON TOUR, that Sharon and his management would try and crunch the schedules to play back to back shows (night/day) in a 24 hour span cause his voice would go shot. This resulted in protest from his band members, cause they weren't getting paid for doing a second show in the same day. According to Diasley's book, this is why he was fired from the band and the drummer. Had Randy Rhoads lived, he probably wouldn't have been the best of friends with them, cause he told his sister a lot of stories about how aggravated he used to get with this stuff.
