  1. Okafor looks more like a DE in a 4-3. Don`t see him at all as a hybrid OLB.

Our ends need to be near 300lbs as run stuffers I believe.

    Our #1 in order

Dion Jordan looks like a good fit. Can pass rush and play cover OLB.

Xavier Rhodes at CB right there too.

Think Eric Fisher OT Barret Jones C/G would Grade for this pick.

    Rd#3

Bailey looks pretty good, sounds like he needs better footwork.

Have doubts he would push to be a starter right off.

More likely take a good RT prospect here with starter potential if available.

    Then:

    a press corner

    OLB with rush ability

ILB with size & SPEED - poor Angerer looks like he is running in sand in pass coverage.

    RB

Rd #4 what we didn`t get in rd. 3

Love the draft. Expect us to spend TOP $$$ (10M)for One FA. GOOD $$$ (4-6M)on ONE maybe two more.

  2. I watched a Lot of bad football this season with our bad opponents finding ways to lose.

MANY posters here were not in to BA at all. The D got steam rolled a few times and our CB play was terrible early on.

Our QB danced in the pocket like Fred Astaire finding time to throw HIS deep throws to Reggie for Many Acrobatic catches.

It was Frustrating to watch game after game, but there was one surprise finish after another.

There is a whole lot of mediocrity in the NFL, and sometimes it just goes your way.

We did play a few games when our opponent was missing key players.

Thanks to circumstance and an Extremely weak schedule, we are a Surprise Team this season.

And because IMO we have GREAT Leadership, Solid Coaching, and Great Determination, we have a modest chance to win a Playoff game. Head shaking WILD! JMO

  3. You are probably far more educated on the issue than I am. But with what you said in mind, about Polian making contracts to readdress them later on, is that a good move? What if you backload a contract and then your player is not willing to restructure? Again, my knowledge of how the cap works is limited, so that might be a stupid question. But it seems a little short sighted to essentially take the "I will deal with it later" mentality, if my interpretation is correct.

  4. You got it just right Superman.

Keeping players that fit and are successful your system is Good Business.

Sanders stood out/made a lot of plays on generally bad defenses.

If there were more plays being made in front of him would he have been an MVP and becoming Highest Paid? No Way.

And that Big Contract Hurt us BAD with Bob not being able to earn it. A Bad circumstance.

Kelvin Hayden deal. I about Puked when I saw what this pretty DECENT Cover 2 CB got paid. He got what a tough press coverage CB was worth. And he did not come close to EARNING the Big $$$. Ugh!

Dallas Clark was a ONE Dimensional Couldn`t Block his shadow Peyton Manning made Pro Bowler.

He would have been above average and a probably more of a situational TE on more than half the Teams in the NFL.

Addai made one Pro Bowl based on his 1st ten games of the season. A decent runner, an Excellent pass Blocker and a good out of the backfield receiver for regular season $tat$ Manning. Paid him a little Extra for his Blocking at the end to appease $tat$.

Bracket was a Great Teammate and made some plays on generally mediocre to bad D`s. Paid him a little extra at the end to keep it going/ Irsay liking to do the right thing by an Honorable Colt.

We have seen this before with Franchises that had developed lots of talent and kept winning going for a long period. As these players have big success (and the team is competing at the highest level for many years) you pay Big up front Bonuses with back end loaded Contracts to keep YOUR talent together, but with Age it comes to an end. Gotta blow it up and start over.

Can`t think of another example but Belechik let Richard Seymour go for a 1st rounder rather than pay him Big $$$.

I always thought I would rather have Seymour than Freeney. A more complete player, tackling, pressureing the QB, blocking passes.

Freeney ALWAYS Killed us in the running game, so because of his big pay, I would have moved him for a 1st and more? a long time ago. We could have kept a Linebacker or TWO for his $$$ and drafted a more complete DE. Might have been worth another SB!!

  5. Go are you of opinion that Shipley has the speed and athleticism to Pull and get out in front of our RB`s?

I don`t think there is any chance with Satelle at Center we would have ran the ball like we did at the end. NO WAY! JMO.

Thinking about Free Agency, they talk all day long about MOST of the Teams having O-Line problems.

We NEED Ijalana healthy and playing up to his potential. That would be BIG. x our fingers. Our 2nd rd pic.

  6. Vontae wants some Push up the middle and lots of Pressure on the QB.

The fastes way for him to do better.

I pray we lose Freeney. No player in the History of the NFL has seen more Rushing yards gained thru his hole.

His success as a pass rusher was half based on playing with a 4 time MVP while playing from AHEAD.

Look at the recent 300 yard game and how many yards were gained coming his way. It was AWFUL!

Not saying he didn`t have a GREAT spin move etc., but he was also a big part of our Horrible run D for all these years.

QB`s feared him, Opponents Abused him (Our Team) in the running game.

  7. Not one poster got it.

The one Obvious difference is A.Q. Shipley anchoring the middle in the running game.

Andrew has been playing rather poorly through most of the last 4 games.

He NEEDS a running game, just like he did in college.

    Defenses have figured him out.

    1) Maintain even pocket pressure limiting his stepping up

    2) Blitz, especially from the outside so he can`t roll out

Make him throw from the pocket under some pressure, he is SLOW to get rid of the ball and generally inaccurate throwing quick short passes. And he focuses on Reggie, not on who has one on one coverage, and he IS NOT doing his checkdowns like he should (if you can believe BA`s public comments).

Of course Andrew comes up with a few amazing plays that clearly has us all shaking our heads, jumping for joy and well, its just hard to find words for it. We are ALL left to think about his/OUR future with a BETTER O-Line. haha!

I still say DBrown is NOT a good back. If they open a hole right in front of him he is ok, but I see a guy who time and again has absolutely POOR Vision on reading a Defense and who constantly misses openings just one hole away. Before this season he was a TERRIBLE blocker (costing him playing time) and he has several times this season failed to pick up the CORRECT blitzer, making his Lineman & QB look bad.

  8. Had the Ravens won & NE lost the Ravens had the tie-breaker with their 31-30 win over NE.

I disagree with the whiners about calling it resting your players.

#1 you are letting ANYONE dinged up / HEAL UP

#2 you are limiting risk of injury for top players in a meaningless game

There is only ONE GOAL at seasons start

    Winning in the Playoffs

  9. Whisenhunt might be a good thing.

As far as his not having a top ten offense, I would expect that from a Pittsburg Steeler Franchise that has long been commited to a ground and pound ball control offense.

They did pretty good when Warner came back from Oblivion. Fun to watch!

  10. hey Superman,

Pretty sure at the time they knew there was Zero chance Manning was coming to Arizona!

What were their options after Kolb? Not much, and they had a young QB to push him.

Pete Carrol reached with an unproven Flynn to the tune of $8Million this year. Doing the best he could to fill a need.

Flynn made his 1st appearance in week 13. A real crap shoot at times hoping guys step up and deliver.

Whisenhunt seems like a talented, tough guy, that would fit in well if there is an opening.

And with all these openings coming today, almost by default, there is a good chance BA will get an offer.

He could sell some tickets as a Respected Leader and with this feel good story following him. Owners like that stuff!

  11. Arians stated publicly several times in the last few weeks that the lack of short passes has been a LUCK Problem.

That Andrew has not been checking down to open receivers, and that they talk to him all the time about it.

What are the odds with Avery`s speed that he never got open yesterday to catch one pass? ZERO IMO.

Andrew chooses to stare down Reggie. Only a real * would not SEE this. Get a Clue!

  12. Powers came into the League as a cover two CB because he lacked speed. Not a bad player, he tackles OK, but he has his share of injuries and is very replaceable.

Our D WILL have CB`s that can play solid press coverage and tackle well against the running game.

Coach P believes in it and Grigson won`t stop looking for it.

Some people understand the concept that Quarterbacks don`t just stand back there in the pocket and whistle until their Receivers get open then they sling it with perfect form and really step into the pass like out of a Textbook. You know, ALL passes thrown 30, 40 yards down the field to where the defender gives the Receiver the space to run, really should be thrown in a TIGHT 2-3ft window.

And some think even if a 6'4" 290lb guy is coming right at you and you end up only get 95% into the pass and 80% of the time YOUR receiver can adjust and compete at least evenly for the ball, Well, that is a bad Pass.

IMO, that is some serious Fantasy football. The Receiver looks back 1st with the advantage to adjust to the pass. A defender who can chase a guy that far down the field and be in position to make a play on the ball has done a heckuva job.

  13. I think we pick on Vaughn too much, he does make plays, he reacts quickly to the ball and makes good open field tackles.

Agree about Vaughn and others. These guys are not finished products. How good will Vaughn be if he stays with Coach P for two more seasons of Coaching up and experience with his Teammates? If he developes the Instinct to turn and look for the ball at the last second and make a play he might become a WOW player. A fine line sometimes.

  14. Joker you think Grigson traded up about 10 spots into the 3rd round for T.Y. when he might have got him as a FA? OK.

The list of 1st rd D-Lineman picks that flunk out or never make it beyond mediocrity is a HUGE One.

The Biggest reason IMO, so many Prospects don`t get their chance to develope is because NFL Rosters are too small.

The UNION has Negotiated a system where you pay 20% of the players 50-60% of the $$$$ and pay 40+ Players what is left of this too small pie.

Drew Brees fought tooth and nail to take every penny he could get from his Teamates. Nice! Not at all.

  15. Outsiders just don`t have a Clue about the Corners we started the season with. Where are they now? Ugly wasn`t it.

The leftover cover 2 players learning to play Chucks Hybrid.

Mathis and Freeney so called OLB`s. Been waiting for YEARS for our D to do that. Hahahaha!

Trading at low cost for two throw away Philly LB`s.

So many Rookie`s in the receiving Corp.

A COMPLETE mish mash of doubted O-Lineman thrown together.

Rookie QB and RB will lead the way.

The idea that this TEAM will be playing A LOT from BEHIND entered ALL the prognosticators minds!!

That such a new group of Players & Coaches would have the Fortitude to accomplish what they have done is beyond the Wildest Reasonable Expectations. "You all know where they had us"

Chuck taking his TEAM into Baltimore at this Time is the next Perfect Chapter to this fantastic Odyssey. Lets Dance!
