  1. Castonzo was at best mediocre in pass protection the 1st 8-9 games. He had guys getting around him so constantly.

Luck was showing his pocket mobility to the extreme.

I think he had a physical issue as he has looked quicker and stronger at the point of attack.

We seem to run well to his side. All in all, over the next season or two I could see him being a top 10-15 tackle.

    That is pretty good.

  2. . Actually YES, as we HAD a TE Fleenor already and blocking TE`s can likely be found in the late rounds or FA so I would Totally agree that Dwayne Allen was clearly the BPA. JMO

I would expect Grigson to try to fix the O-Line (2 Quality Starters) and pass rush through FA and the 1st pick.

Will there be a Solid O-Lineman there late in the 3rd Rd.? IFFY! A Solid pass rusher there? MORE Iffy!

    /

I would expect that 3rd Rd pick to be a CB, RB, or OLB. BPA! Same with the 4th Rd.

WE really need another explosive RB to complement Ballard, and for depth. Not saying he will trade up but I don`t think Grigson will risk Hopeing to hit on another late rounder. RB is too important. Maybe a FA RB!

  3. They lived in our backfield mostly thru Link and because Andrew Holds the ball because maybe he is afraid to throw quick because they knock so many of his passes down AND because he has a WEAKNESS of thinking fast and throwing Accurate.

It is on tape, D-Coordinators see it, they maintain pocket integrity NOW, blitz and Squeeze Luck and he throws High, Behind, Inaccurate (All Season). You can count on it.

And as we see, if you let him step thru the pocket giving his receivers time to get into open space, and he can see it clearly, he Fires it pretty good to an OPEN man.

Andrew said Harbaugh WOULD NOT let him throw OUTS. Why would Harbaugh not let such a Veteran QB, one of the best in 25 YEARS, not throw Out patterns???

  4. I would resign all your choices.

We have worked quite a few guys through our defense this year. And considering we have had a rather ineffective pass rush, I see the guys that we have been playing lately as learning, playing better against the rush, and i see some promise with our secondary.

I am ALL FOR signing at least one Top Notch FA O-Lineman. And we need a Pass Rusher Bad. NOT FREENEY, he is done.

If they have a pass rusher they think will be available in the 1st rd, then I would sign TWO FA O-Lineman and draft the rusher. We MUST Fix the O-Line.

Griggs & Coach P will do fine picking the best available. Size-Speed-Love to play the Game.

  5. 1) I think Castonzo has been playing with a ankle less than 100%. Missing just a little quickness and strength compared to last year. I hope it CAN come back to 100%.

    2) LG has been constant rotation. Reitz may do it, How about a VG FA for that spot?

    3) Satele has had good and bad games. We Run the ball with Shipley in, now a proven fact.

    4) McGlynn is OK at best, an Upgrade as soon as we can.

    5) We need a Rock Solid RT in our future. Don`t Wait! I hope it is Ijalana or our #1 DPic.

  6. Ijalana played very good at RT as a Rookie. He was doing good at LT while replacing an injured Castonzo before he was hurt. More of a RT/RG I would think.

There was some suggestion that the current coaches were not satisfied. He probably came back a little early and may have had issues learning as fast as they would have liked. The playbook should not be an issue next season, lets hope he comes back 100%. If so, he should be good at RG OR RT.

On Moore`s goal line fumble, Castonzo let Watt beat him to the inside. Knowing it is a quick hitter up the middle, I don`t understand how it is possible Castonzo isn`t making his 1st move to the inside making Watts move IMPOSSIBLE. Watt is Exceptional I understand, but that burst inside is the ONLY thing Castonzo had to prepare for. If his mind and body are to slow to make that block, he IS a RT. JMO

It was pitiful watching LINK against Watt. I don`t know why they bothered putting Watt anyplace else.

  7. Pay attention to Fili Moala at 6"4" and 310. He was playing better and better.

Redding is very athletic and appears to be long armed. Listed at 6'4" 315. That is the prototype and why a Drake Nevis at 6'1" just won`t do.

Tho I have a hard time believing Redding is that Heavy because he just never stops running and is so athletic.

Grigs will be looking for Redding type players for that position.

Did you notice 66 Clifton Geathers playing Reddings backup some Sunday? Listed at 6'7" and 325. Is that an understudy for you?

Batted balls at the line are awesome, so get those arms up guys.

  8. Would like to see Moala, Avery, Fokou back for sure.

McAfee is a bit pricey but probably him too.

Stanton is fine at the right price of course. We did pay what, 4-5 million for Kerry whats his name. :funny:

They have a man crush on Link so you know he is coming back.

I would think Reitz would be invited back to compete for a roster spot.

And functional CB`s are a must so invites for C. Vaugh, J Gordy, & D Butler makes sense.

Let someone else figure out the rest.

  9. Carter`s fumble was pitiful. No Excuse. He sits on the bench most of the season because of it, gets in the game and fumbles right off.

We need him for goal line and short yardage but he won`t likely make the roster next year.

  10. pretty sure Satele & Justice were playing at less than 100%

Olsen when healthy STARTS at about 85%

So McGlynn knows Reggie knows what is going on, and he knows his DA Rookie QB is ALL About throwing downfield/hanging onto the ball, so ya, I could see a Veteran O-Lineman telling Reggie with some TONE to GET REAL .

    You bet Lolly.

You see it watching him in the game, and when I playback in slower motion. Cory Redding appears in the play/Picture almost every time.

Twenty yards downfield, Cory Just doesn`t stop Running/Pursuing. No slowing down, no quiting. It is almost comical, like there is Waldo.

He plays great football, and as if he is still 25. He had gotten banged up a fair amount but comes back the next week and does it again.

They did a great piece many years ago on Tony McCoy, a solid Colt D-Lineman, regarding his ability to come back week after week after getting battered on Sundays. And he was a tremendous gamer! Tony said the answer was easy, he had two freezers at home, one full of food, and the other full of ICE.

Coach Pagano gets an A for knowing his business when he called Redding and saying he needed him. Cory is a Big Piece of our Winning Attitude.

  11. Arians in his Monday press conference expressed that Luck chose to look downfield when he had Fleenor open short 3-4 times and Arians wasn`t pleased with Lucks choices there. Arians said, "he would rather Luck took the easier throw".

To me Luck IS staring down his receivers and Was over targeting Reggie pretty Badly.

So I wonder, how much of this holding onto the ball and constantly looking deep is a Luck problem?

  12. I think putting a FA Rock beside Castonzo would be excellent.

Our #1 Drftpick would be a RT/G combo, with me hoping Ijalana coming back healthy to take 1 of those right side spots.

Watching some more slow mo of the game, maybe Shipley should start.

So with Castonzo & a VG FA G on the left, Ijalana & a #1 pick on the right & Shipley up the gut at C, I think we could Pass Block & Run the ball.

With Reitz, Link, & McGlynn as backups.

Grig Must find another pass rusher, NOT named Freeney, and a Solid corner and a RB or two.

JMO, but for this defense, with the exception of needing a pass rusher, we are in pretty good shape with our current lineman and linebackers.

Freeman & Fokou was a heckuva deal, with Angerer & Kavell too, ALL of those guys are coming into this D. Learning fast and playing well.

Our Big Guys with hopefully an improving Fili coming back and a healthy Chapman, I think we have a pretty rugged group developing up front.

Vontae is a player IMO, and after all the CB shuffling we have done this season, it looks like we may have found 2-3 guys that might become keepers longer term. Still want a TOP Notch CB added ASAP.
