  1. LMBO at the No Call of Crabtree Clearly initiating Contact, followed with his hand on the defenders helmet and shoving the guy down to create space to catch a ball that was CLEARLY Uncatchable.

As was said, Crabtree showed NO Emotion in reaction to the Contact. Receivers ALWAYS Complain if they feel cheated. PERIOD!

This is a Serious Low Point in Class and Character of one Jim Harbaugh. Heat of the moment but pretty SAD.

  2. Mediocre/Borderline 3rd round draft picks Dwayne Allen & T.Y. Hilton. okee dokee

    " / " 5th RD Vick Ballard

Each of these guys could prove Reasonably Equal in Career Value to any of the last 8 players chosen in Rd 1 of the 2012 draft.

We can get a Really good player at 24. And if we were to trade back for a 2,3,5, we should get 2 Eventual starters & a question mark (Josh Chapman-Ballard) out of that.

IMO, a Team would have to be in Crazy Love for our Later 1st rd pick to give up that much in this draft. UNLIKELY.

  3. Drafting at the top of each round is a Big Deal.

NOW he has Big $$$ to throw around. Makes it easier also.

His 1st rd pick this year will Look good as their are plenty of Quality players to be had there. After that??

We are a couple years away from knowing what Grigson really is.

  4. Signing "Just a Name" REED to play SS? Hahaha! Maybe the Greatest FS of All-Time, who still Scares the Opposition!

Hmmmm! Bethea was not that great this year! JMO, he has always been better at Run Support than breaking up passes/getting Int`s. Anyone disagree with that? I would suggest Bethea would like the move/ NEEDS to be Moved. Would you rather have Bethea at SS or Zibby? I have No Trouble figuring that out!

IFFY at BEST that Grigsons Draft board hits on a Safety in rd 3 or 4. The player you draft after that is questionable to beat out Lefeged to even make the final Roster.

Reed wouldn`t affect us ONE IOTA long term. Zilch. NOTHING. Most likely a 1 YR deal, WHATEVER we pay him is Free for next year.

Actually, Grigson will be LOOKING HARD for 1,2,3 year deals to maintain CAP position to be able to re-sign HIS OWN draft picks going forward and our own FA`s.

Great REASONING then to sign players who know and thrive in YOUR System! Simple. Basic. You Play to WIN!! :)

  5. The Cowboys are $18M over the Cap and need to sign Romo. Any chance Spencer will be a Cowboy next season?

He would help our D A LOT over Mathis but I believe he plays the same side as Mathis. Don`t see it happening.

The Mathis deal was goofy considering his age and the scheme change. IMO. Sorta stuck with him for 2 more years.

Kruger has been playing well. He played behind Jarrett Johnson for a couple years, who was a very good run stopper but a poor pass rusher. The Ravens let Johnson go in FA making Kruger the FT starter this year. At 26, Kruger should improve.

    Wait and see.

  6. A good story out from Vernon about Singletary coming down on him. Saying it changed him and he understood from that point on that Team came first. Sounds totally sincere to me. Vontae had issues in Miami, but I will bet on him going forward.

Good for the Soul to look after others. Sounds like they are on a very positive track.

  7. Patterson looks talented and has an attitude that looks hungry. Its all potential but I would take this kid on my Team based on what I saw.

Reggie wasn`t known for his route running so much as his "best hands" in the draft.

    haha! Wish we had 2 #2`s and 3 #`s.

As we look at our WR`s think a bit about having guys that move the chains, but also about Playmakers who can get it in the end zone. Especially from Inside the Red Zone!

  8. It IS all about getting Open. Then it is all about the hands. Then it is all about holding on to the ball after Big Hits.

I`ll take a Bigger receiver over a smurf anyday.

Not that I don`t like anyone who produces and can stay on the field.

We can only hope the decision on who makes the final cut is difficult for a good reason.

  9. In the Past, after signing their own, the Colts have Always had to let some FA`s Leave because they had no Money.

Why can`t some get it that we have $$$ coming out of our ears to FIRST Address our O-Line and still add quite a few more FA`s to fill our needs.

Did any of you watch Reggie lope down the field, Rarely making sharp cuts to get open, NEVER outrunning anyone Deep, mostly just floating into deeper open holes in the zones making lots of difficult catches then getting hammered.

There were 88 incomplete passes thrown his way. Love Reggie, but how well will he get open in a quicker/shorter passing game?

OK at best, yes he will still have GREAT hands but lol.

T.Y. will be good, and we can hope he has a healthy year. Who feels GOOD having Brazzil, Palmer, Maybe Whalen as your other three WR`s? Oh yay, or the Big Guy? They might be Good enough.

NO WAY would I pay more than 5-6 Mill for a really good Vet WR, but I would be looking around for the right Veteran guy.

Our Smurfs can`t reach many of Lucks High throws and develope Short-Arms when they see contact coming. JMO

  10. JMO but the difference between a BIGGER receiver such as Boldin at 220 lb.+ and a smurf, is Boldins willingness & ability to go up and get a ball in traffic and making the catch when he gets hit or sees he is about to be hit..

Smurfs T.Y., Avery, and the next big thing Palmer, will often just be out physicalled for the ball, and worse yet, will ALWAYS be at High Risk of Short-Arming when they see they are about to be hit.

T.Y. played in 15 games this season, that was a very good number.

  11. The Colts Cap space number is widely reported as $46 Million.

    90% of $46M = $41.4 Million

We are in Great shape to Invest in a few Long Term FA Contracts, and have good reason to Invest in some contracts of 3 years or less to Maximize our ability to resign this years draft class.

One reason for example why adding a High Quality older Veteran or two at a Higher price on a 1-2 year contract could make sense.

  12. Boldin has been virtually invisible for the last few yrs.. Honestly, I forgot he was even in the league anymore till this playoff run. I'm not totally opposed to bringing in Reed for 1 yr., but that would be it. His play has dropped off the last couple of yrs. and it will only get worse. All we would be paying for is the name IMO and a little mentoring to younger players. Probably wouldn't be worth the money he'll want. Oh yeah, in case I didn't make it clear, NO to Boldin. We do not need him at all.

Of course Boldins #`s have been very good and only dropped a little because he plays in a less pass happy Offense compared to AZ. and with a QB who throws at a LOW completion %.

Anquan has put up very solid #`s in the Playoffs 3 of the last four years. Hard to miss.

Based on the Playoff coverage of the last few weeks, I take it that Reed is still quite Feared.

Still a step faster than Zibby and better than Lefeged.

Of course they will be looking League wide and through the draft for talented, cheaper, longer term options.

We actually have some money to burn on 1-2 year contracts as we build the MONSTER thru the draft over the next few years. IMO

  13. and REED for 1-2 year contracts.

Kruger at 26, a FA maybe worth a 4-5 year conract? PLEASE, Grigs, Pagano KNOW if this is a Good Idea or someone else may be their choice/signable. He sure plays pretty well in this system & hitting his Prime!

If Bolden is Cut, how about giving Bolden 1 yr for $6M maybe 2yrs for $11-12M? He has 1 yr left at $6M.

    Offer Reed 1yr $7-8M?

We could Really Elevate our play short term causing No long term CAP problems signing Bolden & Reed.

A NICE Bridge to 2014 FAgency & Draft.

And we would Still have $$$ for a long term investment for a Quality FA O-Lineman, and a few more decent FA`s.

Add in 2-3 Solid Contributing draft picks and we might Bloody more noses next year than many now Expect!!

There is just enough workable MEAT here for me to kinda like the thought of it. :) Go Colts!

  14. Based on?

9 one hundredths of a second slower than Bowe over 40 yds. And how much cheaper?

My apology. The 40 speed I had gotten showed 4.68 for Barden. I went back and looked up his combine speed which shows 4.55.

Bowes combine 40 was 4.51. And of course with years of NFL training those numbers are likely different.

    Fleenor ran a 4.51.

Polian, in a discussion related to the last draft proposed that 4.51 for a WR was a preferred cutoff line based on the ability to get separation. Obviously good route running, quickness and hands earn bonus points.

We love the #`s, but watching the great footwork/quick feet some have to get off the line, talk of how fast someone is in pads, how good the hands are, and their ability to pick up the ball in flight, are huge factors.

I feel Professionals with lots of game tape will sort this stuff out. No doubt Barden has talent and his time in NY is likely up.

In Grigson & his Team we must trust.
