Do agree. Just hope that we pull the trigger on a O-lineman of a good one is there and not reach for a supposed good "skill" player.
Me too, reaching for skill players that are supposed to be good (Ugoh) is always bad.
-
Grigson didn`t say he didn`t like Rookie O-Lineman. That is on the Record. That is funny as about 9 O-linemen grade out as first rounders and by the end of the round, they will must likely be gone. That is just a little more than 25% of GMs that will take Linemen. Our GM is the only one on record that I know of that does not like Rookie O-linemen.

Watching Warford. MAYBE the best Mauler in the draft? Slow and Clumsy, don`t think he is at all athletic enough to be good trying to pull, and in supporting the screen game. Don`t want him.
-
We can draft a Big Hog in rd three that will give us what LeVitre can`t. Not that he isn`t a good player.
-
Powers is NOT a starting CB in this defense.
Grigs will find a veteran to start opposite Davis. And hopefully Butler chooses us.
Don`t think he can trust the Draft for a RT so he will bag a solid one in FA.
And finding a Big Bad Man to play opposite of Redding will help the LB`s & Rushers. Jesse Williams looks darn good.
Next is a Safety who can cover the field and make plays on the ball.
Bethea has ZERO Int.`s the last two years (with the Great Freeney/Mathis PRush) and ONE Int. in 2010. He is a decent SS. !

bargains & productive?
OLB of the Cowboys Victor Butler.
Playing behind Spencer/Ware.
Butler 300 snaps 25 tackles 3 sacks 3 FF 3 Pass def
Freeney 712 snaps 12 tackles 5 sacks 1 FF 1 PD
Mathis 800+ snaps 33 tackles 8 sacks 1 FF 1 PD
Phillip Wheeler 109 tackles 3 sacks 2FF 6PD

Of all the FA ILB`ers we pick Bart Scott? chuckle
We need an Upgrade over Angerer who is a TARGET in pass coverage, and we are THIN with depth, so we will add a veteran.
I liked Fokou well enough, and it may be him if BA doesn`t swipe him.

Pretty much the same as year one. If he runs more short quick hitters and Andrew is LATE all the time he will get T.Y. blown up.

D Brown would fit his system Awesomely, with Link & Olson leading the way.
Of course he will probaly take Shipley and laugh at us.
-
He Burned Irsay for $14Million, (He said he wouldn`t renegotiate) and Irsay Only paid him to soothe the Fan Revolt.IMO
Guarantee you Freeney and his Agent played the cards that way. He should feel DIRTY.

I am SURE Grigs will be Glad to trade up to earlier in the third Rd for a guy he thinks will be a Solid starter for Years to come.
(LIKELY someone HE graded into Rd TWO) as compared to a riskier pick at 24. I HOPE he has that Guy/Opportunity and can get him.
A GREAT spot for Next Years (Needed) 5th Rd pick being thrown in.
The Jenkins kid does have great potential. I wouldn`t mind us moving up into the 2nd rd to get the Right, Quality prospect/Starter.
Getting Grigs Man in Rd one sounds Great! If his man isn`t there, the idea of a trade back with San Fran appeals. Should net an additional 3rd & 6th, giving us tools to move back up again for the NEXT guy. San Fran has 13 picks, way more than they can use, they will be dealing.
Ansah would definitely be worth trading up a few spots to get.

Harnish looked smooth, comfortable and threw a very nice ball. He should be Bigger, Stronger, Smarter than before.
Based on that, he does not scare me to be our backup.
Moore, Stanton would both be the best backups we have had in since somewhere before the Sorgi years.
-
The guy has an interesting story. As a FA Grigs can bring him in and work him out.
"failed physical after suffering a broken fibula and tibia"????
"28 months after time stood still; before the first of 17 to 18 surgeries on his mangled, infected left leg ever began."
"Somehow my bones formed back together around that metal rod and became stronger. I also had several skin grafts (from his hip) covering up parts of my heels and lower part of both legs and my thigh because my (wounds were so big they couldn't close them up)."
"a statement from the Giants, associate team physician Scott Rodeo said, "At this time, he has residual sensory loss, muscle weakness, and tenuous soft tissue coverage in the involved lower leg. The resultant functional impairment precludes his ability to perform physically at the level required for professional football."
Makes me Queasy thinking about the significant areas of grafted tissue being subjected to all of the Rigors & Physicality of NFL FB.

As Poor a season as Castonzo had with his Pass blocking, LT has to be a concern.
We are now counting on him to improve quite a bit and he just may not be able to do that.
So a Simple answer to your question is, If we bring someone in that can play the Position better than him Great, and I couldn`t care less how he feels about it, I would expect him to play as good as he can and contribute to the TEAM.
Ijalana was to be our RT to replace Diem. He showed the footwork and ability to be considered for LT maybe too.
And Guard was a position he could be good at. His injuries have been a Huge deal.
-
So he is blaming the Freeney Fiasco on Irsay. OK
-
If you watched the games you KNOW Castonzo didn`t have a good season in pass defense.
Guys got around him all the time, one of 3 players to give up double digit sacks(11) last season.
Luck was scrambling around pass rushers from the left side of the line Constantly.
He was slower off the snap than his rookie year. It was pitiful at times how quick & easy they burnt him!
Hopefully his ankle (which may never be 100% healthy again) allows him to have a Great off-season.

I don`t think you have looked at the records of these players. Spencer EXCELS as a RUN stopper, considerably better than Barwin. Spencer sacks the last 4 years are 6,5,6,11. So do you pay for the 11? Barwin in his 3 years. 3.5, 11.5, 3. Will he be a 5 or 6 guy?i look at it like this, he didn't have a bad year jj just had a highly incredible year. When watt want able to make a play he did but that was rare seeing that watt was everywhere. As far as fiscally we wouldn't pay him based off what he did (or didn't) do last year. Pretty sure Griggs would pay based off our need (which is apparent), and if it would hurt cap space. My opinion we would pay less to get him than Kruger and/ or Spencer and he brings more versatility and better skill set. Kruger and Spencer are great pass rushers but we would be just a ineffective against the run s last year if e had them.. Main point Conner would come cheaper and help our 2nd weakest on defense (pass coverage being #1 ofcourse) which is stopping the run
Kruger had as many tackles as Barwin and more sacks & more Passes defended. MORE ROUNDED???
-
I ALWAYS wanted Donald to get a chance. And he has YET to play behind an even Decent run blocking Line.
Gavin made a point that got thru my sometimes thick head. Brown is a straight ahead runner. I knew that!
Exactly why I DON`T like his game because there are often holes right beside him and he just plows into whatever is ahead of him. HE SUCKS.
Back to Gavins good point. With Quality run blockers ahead of him, there Will Be some REAL Gaps for him to hit and clear, and yes he will be able to make a cut into that space. A SOLID likelihood for him to get a considerable # of 5+++ yard runs. I see that now.
So lets get a couple of ROAD GRADERS for all our RB`s to feed off of!! Go Colts!

Any idea what that $815,000 Misc Bonus is for for Brown in 2013?
We are Desperate for an Explosive, fast 2nd back to complement Ballard. They WILL draft one.
Trade brown to Green Bay for a 2nd. ;)
-
Not sure why you pick a Weak Roster Team like AZ. to cough up two likely starters for 1. Unlikey.
Moving back to 31 with San Fran who has 13 picks would be much more likely. That would net picks of a 3rd and a 6th.
We would still be in an interesting position to trade back again.
Ending up with a fairly early 2nd, and manuevering for another mid to late 2nd/Early 3rd sounds really good.
-
I don`t think we will sign Reed either.
It wouldn`t cause ANY problem signing longer term players that you want because you WOULD sign such a player if you could get him, BEFORE you would sign Reed, as a NICE Improvement & a Short Term fix. We might actually get an Interception from a Safety!!!

Ijalana was done last year in late July I believe. So 6 plus months into rehab.
A Big guy like that with a prior knee injury will likely need till the July camp to be ready. Maybe even brought along slow then?
We could sure use him healthy.
We Have Very Good Depth...

You keep saying an 11-5 Team.
They played a LOT of BAD to Mediocre FB and beat a lot of bad Teams by less than a touchdown.
Yaaaaaaaa, and I wouldn`t trade that playoff game memory in Baltimore, No Way!
But YOUR 11-5 Team had a 5-11 Roster. And there are a LOT of players that started this season who are not guys who will be players you want as GOOD backups. No we won`t be able to get rid of all of them for next season, but after next season??
