  1. Once again. A 3-4 DE's job is to occupy blockers and free up the LBers to make the plays. If you have a DE in the 3-4 that also racks up tackles and gets to the QB, then you probably have J.J. Watt on your team. Unfortunately there aren't many J.J. Watt's around so having a guy that can occupy his blockers is a pretty good option to have. He signed a 1 yr. deal and I imagine it was a pretty cheap contract so this is a good signing if for nothing else than to have decent depth.

I Agree, 2 tackles in 9 games is OK enough.

I`m searching for that list of others like J.J. Watt. :)

Please Griggs tell, them AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN you don`t want to OVERPAY.

Tell them you and Your Team really think about this stuff for endless hours everyday, and

to please have some Faith that you are Intelligent and Wise, and not to worry their little minds about

how to evaluate the financial side of how to build a Roster.
For it is deep and Light Years beyond a Couch QB`s knowledge base.

  3. Reitz is a free agent, MCGLynn is just not good, and Ijalana can't stay on the field. I can totally see them bringing in 2-3 OG, 4-5 new lineman total for starter and backup purposes. our #3 OT is Bradley Sowell are you kidding me. were going to bring in about 5 new lineman

    This was a DRAFT question.

We will see if they DRAFT a Guard at #3 or even #4.

  4. He was playing quite poorly until his last couple games, I too saw some improvement.
But his tackle numbers for the season (8 games) could hardly be worse. 2 tackles(HOW?)  and 12 assists.

We are desperate for a few veteran Bodies at the position, he had to be cheap.

  5. OF COURSE you might run out of the $35Million before you were to acquire all of the players on this Imaginary list.
And then again it COULD BE very close.

As an exercise, IF that was Grigsons List after his Teams exhaustive study, any differing thought that I might have as to those choices would be based on basically NO Information compared to his. Kind of a JOKE, IMO.

IMO, I would not want Mike Jenkins. #1 the paragraphs I have read about his attitude turns me off. #2 the Injuries.
Yet i have never met the guy, don`t really know what makes him tick. He might be a great guy, a hard worker, and suffered from some Bias from repoerters.
So, after Griggs gets the REAL skinny, and he wants the guy, I choose Griggs opinion and Jenkins is MY COLT!

The point I get from this guys list is, whatcha think of this guys choices? Who the heck is Sammy Lee Hill? Is he a NT or a DE for us? Well it doesn`t matter because in this case Griggs and Crew like him for Us, the end.

So all in all, it looks like a BUNCH of fine players, I think the guy came up with a insightful List that would make me pretty darn happy going forward.
I like his Draft list well enough I say put`em on the Field. These guys could turn into good Pro`s.

I read a mock Redo of last years draft of the 1st Rd.
It had at least 10 guys that WOULDN`T be taken in rd one on a Redo. Quite the crap-shoot really.
And no different with a FA.
Gooooooooooooooo Griggs and yur Scouts, cause I`m dreaming SB in 2014.
Of course probably more like 2015. ;)
:huthut:  Five seconds left in SB and we are on the 5yd line down by 4. Luck drops back, looks to his left, I`m standing in my living room bouncing up and down, yelling he`s open he`s open, throw the d*** ball, the hair on my arm is...
What the... the hair on your arm, tell me who caught the game winning TD you knucklehead.

Of course it was... Go  :coltslogo:

  6. I`m sure we could get all those guys for $30M.
In an imperfect football world, that looks like a fine group to target.
I am a big enough dreamer that I can see the small possibility of it happening.
Of course there are a jillion other options, but this one is sound as the pound, and interesting, as they say.

Here is a very Interesting article about Accumulating players. Enjoy.

  7. If we spend $8-9M for an O-Lineman it will be to improve ourselves at LT.
And it doesn`t appear there is anyone available worth that kind of $$.
Griggs won`t put that kind of $$ down with risk involved. (J Long). Now If they thought he had a 100% clean bill of health. ????

Then you would have a upgrade at LT for $9M, a really good RT for $1.1M for two more years, and a better backup LT than most teams would have.
     In theory. :bossy:

  8. Ridiculous to consider our GM would sit and drink coffee until the day of free agency then throw a dart at a board of "name recognized" free agents.
Grigsons Team will have looked at everyting BUT the Name in evaluating who is on their list of Wants.
Then establish the Value. They ARE considered good at their job!
And as Grigson implied, if there is someone he really wants, he does have the ammo to make a run at them.

Of course I, would ONLY want a player that would let me OverPay him.

  9. Grade?      Who's grade?

It is getting ridiculous how many draft experts hang out on this site......

There should be a show post draft showing Fans all 32 teams official draft boards.

  10. A U Turn sign. That was worth a good laugh. :jump:
Its a long season, a 3rd quality corner would be great. And no Guarantee we get to keep Vontae as a FA.
With so many Starter holes to fill a 3rd CB might sound like a luxury.
But drafting a CB or a pass rusher a year ahead of a Need is good, if the Quality is there.

So many holes to fill, and so many days of waiting. :panic:

  11. When Freeney was at his best (+ or - 2006) Antoine made some nice plays, a few memorable Int.s and passes defended down near the goal line.
    Some really good stuff.

We have been so consistently Bad against the Run (Freeney,Mathis) we have needed his GOOD tackling skills in the box.
I just don`t remember Antoine successfully defending many plays near the sidelines, because of a lack of speed or intuitiveness I don`t know. Solid and durable, he just doesn`t get the turnovers. At $5.75 Million in 2013 for a (FS) kind of an OUCH.

Yet, with much better play by our front seven, those turnovers might come! Its a chess board and I Ain`t no Bobby Fischer, tho i did own and study his book 60 Most Memorable Games. :funny:   :coltslogo:

  12. I would prefer the view of:

The Redskins hit on Manning + Peyton's fixation on overusing his arm rather than letting the back-ups get some reps for years = Andrew Luck

Polian and Curtis didn't cause that.

Well of course enjoy your preferation. Whatever floats your boat.

Manning coming up lame 4 years after Washington just doesn`t  = what Polians boy did on the field to help secure Luck.

Polian could have forced the QB change and Should Have a few games sooner. But IMO, he was sucking for LUCK.

Again, a wonderful decision I am very grateful for.

Not so much that dirty pile drive PM took that was no doubt aggravated by another 100 plus hits over those years.

Ol' PM was a real CAD waiting till his contract was up to get it worked on, and don`t you wonder what he told his Pal Jim to make him want to right that $26M check? Nay, that is a taboo subject here. ;)

  13.  A number of DT going early this year. Ahead of Premium positions. A "Good Year" for them they say.
In this PASSING LEAGUE, hard to find a Coach though that doesn`t want to set up his play action with a good running game.

Running Works. And DT/NT are a Big part of the Antidote. Dreaming of the next Reggie White.
Watching the play and looking at the tackling #`s of Moala, Mookie, & Ricardo Mathews, we were bad there.

With so many holes to fill, the reason I hope Griggs works next years #2 Pick into this draft.

  14. NFL Teams run over 50% between the Guards. Our D Has to have really good play at the NT position.

Some think that Hankins or Williams might be the BPA at out 24 pick. My reading suggests both of them could play the DE position and/or be good at NT. That versatility would be a VALUE. Building up the trenches has to come sometime.
We are NOT sound with both our lines at this time.

With so many holes BPA, the book says a pass rusher, CB or LT with a 1st pick.
We are All just hoping for Greatness! :goodluck:

  15. Hey Colt, I watched some Williams highlights, yes it was against college kids, but the guy always pushed forward against single blockers. Very Stout, and he stayed on his feet. Yes we need a very good DE.  Looks like he could rotate some at NT too.
We have to improve in both of the trenches as we ALL know.

Hey Mitch, if we ended up with those players as you project, I would jump thru the roof. :dancing: haha!

Mathieu was a freak with his fluidity, and he seems to have GREAT ball skills. A shame he is so small.

Give me Rhodes, PLEASE!!! He Could be a Great One!
