  1. Rank your top 16 (top half) qbs in the NFL. The way I'm doing my list is if next season I had to win one game, who would I pick first as my qb?, who would be second?, etc. I'm going off of what I know, and mixing in a little bit of improvement (for example, Peyton I expect to be even better b/c of improved football shape, more arm strength, etc, and like for Luck, I expect a jump in his development from year one to year two).

    1. Peyton
    2. Rodgers
    3. Brady
    4. Brees
    5. Eli
    6. Big Ben
    7. Matt Ryan
    8. Flacco
    9. Romo (Still can score tds like crazy)
    10. Rivers (He had a horrible season, but he can still score tds)
    11. Wilson (He was ROTY imo, I expect another good season)
    12. Luck (He finished the year strong, and is the smartest of the young qbs)
    13. Kaepernick (a better RG3 imo)
    14. Stafford (his 2011 season was great, drop off last year, but I expect at least 28 tds from him this year)
    15. RG3 (his injury will really hinder his run ability, we'll find out how good he is a mostly pure passer)
    16. Dalton

P.S. My list isn't set up to be a prediction of how I think these qbs will rank at the end of next year's SB.

  2. Realistically, I see us as one and done, in a 14pt blowout. If Flacco stinks up the place, I could see us pulling out the win, but after that I'd expect us to go home. Ravens will run it down our throats I think with rice and pierce.

  3. Brees put up some shiny numbers but didnt get his team to the playoffs. Brees cost his team a lot of games this year, throwing picks or fumbling at the worst time. The KC meltdown, SF, atlanta, Carolina, Giants all come to mind. Brees is a leader but true leadership imo means getting the job done for your guys however you have to, even in adverse times.

  4. RGIII has the east coast bias, we are in the Bible-Belt, Russell is in the rain-belt. RGIII in a landslide. Already heard too many media types say that Luck has to make up for his early-game mistakes. late in games and that's why he has the late game heroics. They say he causes his own late game comebacks and that he is definetly NOT as good as RGIII.

Actually all the national media people have been praising luck for taking over a 2-14 and getting it to the playoffs. Mostly everyone in the national media (espn/nfl network) has been ignoring luck's ints and low completion percentage and favoring his win total. RG3 lost some ground on the injury. Imo, Luck is the front runner right now. Personally I think Wilson has been the best of the three rookies and deserves it. OROY is like OPOY imo, and shouldn't be treated as an MVP for rookies. If there was an RMVP award, Luck should get that.

  5. Honestly, I think its Elway. Every move he has made has worked out. He brought in Manning, Dreessen, Tamme, Koppen, Stokley, Porter (his pick six the first game was worth it). Wolfe has been a good pick so far, although brock and hillman havnt been worth it yet. He also kept Moreno when many thought they would try to trade him.

But you still have to love what Grigson has done so far. If the colts stay at 9 wins elway should get it, if they get to 11 Grigson should

  6. Well if you're being objective, Tebow hasnt shown he cant be a qb. The only reason people say he cant be a qb is because of his low completion percentage, but if we're being fair, our boy Luck is at the very botton of the completion percentage charts. We all think Luck will improve with exp, same should be thought with tebow. Both guys also have shown to have an early clutch gene. In terms of being a qb, Tebow's faith should be removed and his skills should be looked at objectively.

    Just my two cents

  7. No. Because Calvin isn't the only option on his team, the way AP is. Boxes are stacked for Peterson and he still racks up those yards. And while Calvin is having a great year, he isn't lapping other players at his own * the way ap is

Peterson is getting help from great blocking by the linemen and receivers though. For calvin, his success is almost only because of him. He does rely upon the qb, but most of the time its him making a great catch rather than it being a great pass.

And Calvin is about to shatter the all time record, while ap is only gling to be joining a club of great runners.

  8. Okay, I like your loyalty to #18 no question supremecoltsfan300, but I'm about to ask a really dumb question: Is the MVP race really contingent on a Playoffs entrance bid or merely regular season winning percentage etc.?

No loyalty involved at all in this case (I want him to win it but he deserves it the most too).

The MVP is contingent upon making the playoffs imo. Being valuable means that you brought your team to the playoffs. AP is certainly having a great year. But other RBs have had much better years. This is not an all time great year YET imo. CJ ran for 2k and didnt win the mvp just a few years ago.

The argument for ap imo should then be applied to calvin since he actually has the better shot of breaking a record. There are no other great wrs on the lions and stafford is having a horrible year, yet calvin is an absolute stud. But calvin fo some reason isnt even being mentioned in the mvp discussion yet wouldnt you say what he is doing is equally as impressive as ap?

  9. Peyton is the MVP right now, AP is runner-up.

Vikings will finish 8-8 in all likelihood while the Broncos will be 13-3.

AP is vaulable but the truth is that his valuableness isnt translating into playoffs for his team.

Calvin Johnson gas a great chance to break the wr record held by the GOAT. How is that not more or just as remarkable than ap getting 2k?

  10. Honestly, I dont think they're a real threat this year. In 2010, they were lighting people up when they won. they havnt been doing that much this year at all except vs houston. It's always a struggle for them to win. I think the 49ers, falcons, and the redskins probably are the most dangerous right now.

  11. I don't know exactly what you can draw from peyton's 09 coaching comments but it certainly wasnt an endorsement for anyone on that coaching staff including hc Caldwell. His new comments on him certainly suggest that he does not have confidence in Caldwell's abilities as an OC and to call plays. Peyton skirted around that question quite well, as we would expect from him, since he would never make disparaging remarks against anyone he knew (except * kickers).
