  1. My predicted top 10:

    1. Peyton

    2. Rodgers (50/50 on which qb is 1)

    3. Peterson

    4. Brady

    5. Watt

    6. Calvin Johnson

    7. Miller

    8. Willis

    9. Ware

    10. Sherman

Not neccessarily who I think the top 10 will be, but who it probably will be.

  2. Only Wayne and Mathis should be in it. Wayne in the 40-70 range and mathis in the 80-100 range.

Luck....I'm hesistant to put him in there but if there are 13 qbs picked in the top 100, then he should be in there. Personally, I don't think more than probably 10 qbs should be in the top 100 list because there are many players at other positions better than those outside the top 10. Luck will be there next year though.

  3. They did overpay for Romo, but they HAD to overpay for him. Romo is a top 10-12 qb with top 6 potential. You cant let that go away. Romo is one of the few qbs who scares me because he always has the potential for a 4 td game. And the people putting luck, rg3, wilson, kaep, newton, and stafford ahead of him (at this point in their careers)..well that's just plain silly and wrong lol.

  4. Elway really did a good job with this in my opinion.  He did keep checking in on Dumervil, and he was ready to release dumervil at 1pm mt when the agent said they weren't accepting the deal.  It just so happened that dumervil did change his mind at 1:25 mt that day. Elway did remind them multiple times to hurry up and did suggest using post-1980 technology to get them the signature.  The fault is all on the agent (and dumervil for waiting so long).  Elway was never going to pay dumervil 12 million, and while he optimally wanted dumervil back for cheaper, he was all along fully prepared to move on without him.  And I can't blame him.

About last year....I do think it was a significant achievement landing Manning...he handled it perfectly.

He also made some other under the radar good moves like signing Koppen as the center which was huge and then getting a guy like Brooking for lb which really helped the D down the stretch.  Tamme was a solid (not great) addition too.

  5. I heard that the ravens are offering money to the baseball team to play an afternoon game that day so they can still have the home opener and raise the banner. If that happens, it is for sure Ravens/Pats.

They tried that and the Os rejected it.  That's why it's been confirmed they won't open up at home.

Personally, I think the Os are being unreasonable.  Have the game earlier, or do a double header.  Teams do double headers all the time when there's rain or something like that. And it's not like there isn't ample time for them to plan the doubleheader....the baseball season hasn't even started yet.  162  baseball games....only 1 season opener.

  6. Reed hands down. Guy is still great at knowing where the ball is and if he is in the vicinity it's ending up in his hands and most likely he's going the other way with it.

Pollard is only dangerous if he hits Luck on the head.

  7. It wont affect goal line situations because it is legal in that case. I agree the main issue is with how refs will call it, but if they stick to only calling obvious cases, and the obvious ones are easily identifiable even in real time, then it shouldnt be a major issue. I understand why people are hestitant to believe refs will get it right, but I guess I'm inclined to at least wait to see a couple horrible miscalls before I blast them. But like I said, I do get why some people arent as inclined to do so.

  8. I think you need to re-watch most games. Almost EVERY RB lowers their head right before the point of contact. They were talking about it on NFL network and they said that it is like an involuntary reflex for RB's to do it because that is the way they have been taught since they were kids. This has the potential to be really ridiculous. Way to much objectivity in the hands of the refs.

You can lower your head, you just cant use it as a weapon. The only rb I can think of who had hits like that last year were richardson,p peterson doesnt do it, charles doesnt, foster doesnt, the best rbs dont do this.

  9. Well i agree with that if a team win the SuperBowl, that team is the World Champion. BUT...i don't think that any european or asian team will ever have the chance to play in the NFL therefore they can't win SuperBowl = Can never become the world champions:) So no offense guys but this whole "World Champion" thing is comming from the "There are no other countries outside the US". I've spent nearly a year in the US and i've met some people who were really mean because they've realized i am from europe:)

    Go Colts!

I don't think the "World Champion" thing is coming from "there are not other countries outside the US" like you say.  You admitted that if a team wins the SB, that team is the World Champion. That's my point and the point of many other posters.  As it stands now, for football, the NFL champion is also the World Champion.  Not for every sport/event.  But for football, I don't know how anyone could argue that isn't true.

And how other people have treated you b/c of where you are from has nothing to do with this conversation.  In the US, we have a term, actually a lot of terms, for those type of people that treat you in that manner (terms that I know I couldn't post here) lol :)

I'd imagine too that not everyone in other countries always treat Americans nicely either.

  10. I saw an interview with Coach K in which he stated winning Olympic gold was extremely important to LeBron. Reportedly LB's demeanor throughout the London games was intense.

I didn't say it was important to James, but if he had to pick one over the other, he would choose the NBA title every time.  If he had remained the "ringless King", his legacy would have been strongly diminished.  You don't get to be a great athlete by accepting anything other than victory.  All the NBA players representing the USA should have been and most likely were of the the mindset that they needed to win the gold.  However, all those players would trade in the gold for an NBA ring.

Also excelling in the Olympics is good for your marketability and it helps with comparisons to other greats (Jordan won the gold with the Dream Team, shouldn't Kobe and Lebron be able to do that too if they're so amazing? extra motivation to do well in the Olympics).

  11. Actually I liked watching the World Basketball Championship . Kevin Durant was a beast . & the U.S did Win so this championship is a valid World Champion just like in the Olympics with competition from around the world . The superior team won . No complex or denying . A world stage if you missed it was just awesome .

Actually the NFL is only 1 league in a world with many football leagues - A poor choice of words IMO .  The Mongolian football league is just 1 in a world of football leagues . After all football in most countries is Soccer ..

Our National Football League is King .   Key Word being football ?  Compared to viewer ship & attendance with other leagues to be honest I doubt it .

The Basketball Olympics was not the main event for us Americans. Would Durant rather win the Olypmic gold or the NBA title? What about Lebron? Both cared more about the NBA finals that year then the Olympics. Us, American fans, did as well. Would we have felt embarrassed if we didnt win the gold? Absolutely. We're supposed to win that event even if we're playing a playground-type of style of basketball.  While other countries might view the Olympics and the international equivalent as an enormous event, Americans do not, at least for certain sports, specifically the big three (baseball, basketball, and football).

And when I say football, like almost every other American, I mean American football (especially when I'm saying it in the U.S. lol).  While there are other "American" football leagues, the NFL is by far and away the best one.  Players that can't play in the NFL go to the CFL, AFL, etc. to earn their living.  The SuperBowl captures 1/3 of the country every year, no other "american" football league does that.

  12. Well because the NFL is by far the best football league in the world, so it's champion is also the world champion. The NFL teams never face an AFL team, but we dont have to beat them to know we're better than them in that sport.

It might be different for other sports, but for football, the NFL is king.

While U.S. athletes might want to win some international event like the Basketball Olympics, we really dont care that much. For us, participating in that type of tourney is similar to the conference championships in college basketball.

  13. It's actually a great deal for the eagles. They needed a pass rusher and it's only 10 million guaranteed.  All their signings have been superb so far. All reasonably priced for the most part and upgraded every single position.  No amazing upgrades, but they're all solid players, which is a lot more than what could be said for the guys on last year's team.

  14. What doe superbowl ready mean?

A superbowl contender or we actually win the superbowl?

I said a while back that I didn't think we would win the SB within 5 years, but that after that window I could see us winning at least one in the next 5 years.

I do think we'll be a contender probably in year 4 of andrew luck.

Anything can happen in the playoffs, so who knows. The team still has a lot to prove, but they are young in most spots and getting upgraded as we speak.

  15. This is a great move regardless. On one hand, they can get one of the best slot receivers in the game if he signs. On the other hand, if New England matches, they basically cripple their cap space on a 32 year old receiver and are going to have a hard time building their defense up.

Completely agree. Either way, Broncos are hurting their biggest rival. Smart move. I'd personally love to see welker with Peyton.
