  1. Assuming I have an early pick. It's got to be QB

    Rodgers/Stafford/Luck.

If I'm picking in the middle rounds I'd be aiming for defensive play playmakers.

    Willis/Ware/Allen

If I'm picking in the back, I go for pure upside and or position scarcity.

    Suh/Hali/or OL

I'm suprised at the # of you selecting WR. With a top 5 pick. Sure Calvin is mega talented, and arguably the best at his position (Still think Fitz is), but I couldn't pull the trigger on that. Not when I can grab a Brandon Marshall, Roddy White, Julio Jones, AJ Green etc several rounds later. Or even grab a Bowe type, whom I'd handcuff to a Vernon David type. In say the 7-8th rds or much later.

I don't know if this was a draft scenario; but if you want to make it one, I think I can clarify. Imagine you have picks number:

Round one, pick one (one overall)

Round one, pick two (two overall)

Round one, pick three (three overall)

Round one, pick four (four overall)

Round one, pick five (five overall)

and no other picks. There are no trades, and everyone is available. Who do you take?

  2. The Rams only went up because the Jags dropped two. The Dolphins went up too, and they didn't impress. It's not that the Rams are better than the were in the last ranking, it's that the Jags are worse.

Why did the Jags, who beat the WORLD CHAMPIONS, fall two spots? Meanwhile the Rams who got dominated by the 32nd ranked team move up because of it.

Carson isn't that bad. He had his good years, and his bad.

Cassel has done pretty well for himself.

    Leinart, that was just rough.

Booty wasn't ever really said to be anything anyway.

Sanchez should of not been drafted. He was a starter for his JR year, and entered the draft. I honestly don't know what the Jets were thinking.

Too be honest, if they had a better QB than Sanchez, the Jets may have won the SB with that defense.

    Barkley has a shot.

The first group of guys were all Pete Carroll products. Barkley is a Lane Kiffin product. Kiffin is much better at developing QBs.

  3. mckinney should be starting over johnson. johnson has been our dt the pass 3 years and were last in run defense almost everyear, something has to change.

Ummm... Like our coaches, scheme, focus, and half our team's roster?

There has been plenty of change. Mookie himself has changed. I want to see what he can do.

  4. In most cases I would say yes. That was dated 9/2010.

As of July 2011, he San Diego Museum had just returned it to the Bush Family.

Which brings me back to why I said I wasn't 100% certain it was actually returned.

Great story! I had never heard that! Really makes me wonder what's going on...

The Heisman Trophy website does not have a winner listed for 2005.

  5. What does Tommie Frazier and unfortunate Blood Colts have to do with suspensions?

You said that Reggie Bush not having a Heisman would not matter. That he would still be remembered for being a beast in college.

I bring up Tommie Frazier because he was as much of a beast in college, yet I never hear of him. No one knows about him. He did not win a Heisman, so few people remember him.

  6. I agree with most of your statement but Goodell set to precedents, suspending Pryor and letting Bush get away with it free, Yeah I know he had to give back his Heisman but big deal its not like giving it back will change the fact that he won it pretty convincingly if I remember right

Giving up the Heisman IS a big deal. You may remember he won it now; but in thirty years, after he has retired, do you think anyone will remember the circumstances? He gave up a LEGACY. Winning the Heisman is a VERY big deal, and losing one is more so...

  7. http://sports.espn.g...tory?id=6637444 The free food, cars that was given to him dont bother me a bit, athletes get alot of free stuff, If that report was accurate I would have made him repay every cent of that amount (I believe it said 40,000 and suspended him 1-2 games at the most but I would have done the exact same thing with Bush

Who does he repay it to? The crooked people that gave him the illegal benefits to start with? They'll just turn around and give it to the next flavor of the month.

I agree with FJC. And why would you punish them both the same? They were two different people who got caught in two different situations. Why punish them the same?

I say you make the punishment fit the crime, and Goodell managed to do it in these cases. I have no problems with his punishments. Consistency in the punishment is only necessary if all the circumstances are the same.

  8. They could have taken Pryor to court and hit him were it hurts in his bank account, i have no problem with the supension, I have a problem with the inconsistency Goodell has shown, Bush wasn't suspended

It would be hard to get anything from Pryor because he hadn't made any money yet. It's near impossible to get a ruling based on probable future income, and he had yet to earn a single dime.

Bush wasn't suspended, but he was forced to relinquish his Heisman. That would hurt more in my opinion...

  9. 5 games for receiving illegal benefits in college when how much do college athletes make? Just a case of Goodell exercising his authority to much I think, whats the exact punishment in regards to that in college? 5 games was way to steep in my opinion

You think Goodell was overstepping his bounds? I think the NCAA WANTED him to be harsh! How else could they punish a player who had already left their jurisdiction? Once Pryor decided he didn't want to play at Ohio State anymore, the NCAA had no way to punish him. If Goodell didn't punish him, there would be too many athletes taking advantage of the system.

  10. Bert Jones never got injured.

The Colts would have signed Elway.

    Then move on to PM.

    Then move on to Luck.

That's like 4+ decades of really good QB play, and Painter would only be someone in white coveralls and hat.

I agree with this one! If you don't like the team that drafted you, just play through your rookie contract. If you play well enough, the team you want to sign with might even think of signing you!

  11. I would eliminate the bye weeks from the playoffs by adding 2 playoff teams in each conference.

High school football is over by the time the NFL playoffs start.

    So I would have 2 games on Friday night. 6 & 9

    3 games on Saturday 1, 4, 8

    3 games on Sunday 1,4, 8

It gives fans more playoff games, it gets rid of the bye week. It gives the NFL & Owners more $.

It's a good idea, but then we'd have eight teams from each conference heading into the playoffs. Might as well make it the top two of each division advance. 50% seems like a high number to send to the playoffs.

  12. Thats not how a flea flicker works..

    I was being facetious...

Wildcat flea flicker? That would be a play no one would see coming!

Line Andrew out wide and run Brazil as a wildcat QB. Run a flea flicker and PRESTO!

This is entirely possible, yet entirely improbable!

  13. Luck will pull a Brett Favre, and his first completion will be to himself. He will throw up a pass, it will be batted at the line straight back to him, and he will catch it. Unlike Brett Favre, though, Luck will scramble 80 yards for the touchdown!

Luck to Luck 80 yard touchdown pass
