  1. From PFT:

Colts offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton finds it shocking that the Browns were willing to trade Trent Richardson, and Hamilton believes his offense is going to benefit from that shocking decision.

“It was shocking that we would have a chance to acquire such a commodity,” Hamilton said. “I think it’s just awesome. It’s an awesome deal for the Colts and the Colts fans to have an opportunity to have such a special young player on the roster now.”

Hamilton said he sees Richardson as a three-down back who can do everything a running back is asked to do in the Colts’ offense.

“I almost stayed up overnight watching his season from last year, just watched his snaps of Trent in a Browns uniform,” Hamilton said. “But I went back and watched some of his college film as well just to get a feel for what he’s comfortable doing. There’s no can’t-dos with this guy. He’s a great combination of power and speed. He has good field vision. He can play without the ball. He can catch the ball as well. I’m excited for our entire football team and the organization to be a part of a unit that has a chance to be special.”

Hamilton sounds like he’s ready to call for a whole lot of handoffs to Richardson, starting on Sunday in San Francisco.

  2. This move by Lombardi took incredible "stones" or ignorance. He's pretty much saying that Richardson is nothing special and he's sending him to a team where he has a great chance to excel. Granted our O Line is not over powering but it's probably only a guy or two from being good. The big thing is the passing game that won't allow teams to stack the box against him. So to look good he needs Richardson to pretty much be a bust , continue to be injury prone or the Colts to fizzle and get back a high #1 next year. I guess he does have a few chances there but if Richardson is special and the Colts make the playoffs , he is going to look like a complete donkey.

IMO he already IS a donkey.

He's another turd sprinkled with Belichick** dust that these clueless owners/GMs keep turning to.....and failing.

  3. Sigh.

    We're not a running team.

Nobody said or implied we were some adolescent notion of a purely "running team".

"I" said we're a run the ball and stop the run team that has departed from not only the Manning era but even from last year's offensive philosophy. It's not hard to grasp. But apparently some were out to lunch this previous offseason.

  4. Reading a lot of nonsense statements & phrases.

Bottomline: there isn't a single RB in next year's entire draft....much less wherever the Colts would be picking...that would be rated above Trent Richardson. Therefore Richardson is worth our 1st rounder all day long.

Now, some what to argue (I could insert a period right there) that the Colts have bigger needs. Perhaps, oline is definitely an area of concern. But apparently Grigs had Richardson rated higher than any of next year's round 1 prospects regardless of position.

I roll with Grigson 1,000,000 times before I'd ever even consider, much less take seriously any online negadit's ill-informed, contrary, presumptuous position.

  5. Agreed. For better and for worse, agreed.

But.... one very small nit to pick and it likely only interests... me.....

They're the Stanford Cardinal (singular) not Cardinals (plural) Believe it or not, the Cardinal is for the color, as opposed to Cardinals like the bird that Louisville uses. Sorry to go all nerdy on you.... like I said, this one is strictly for we few Stanford folks!

We're few in numbers, but diehards none the less!!:thmup:

    Awesome!!! Did not know that.

  6. Cleveland DOES ROCK!!

Cleveland is back to being two years away from being one year away. Lombardi passed on Warren Sapp and the franchise moves to Baltimore. Now he trades away the RB that broke Jim Brown's rookie rushing records. The Browns braintrust is getting less love than LeBron......and deservedly so.
