  1. Not sure where this reservoir of hope/promise/talent/belief in Ijalana came from. Other than being drafted, he's never done anything worth noting.

I was pulling for him because he was coming off of an injury...but other than that, I had no fantasies regarding his potential.

  2. Williams wasn't a disappointment to me because I didn't expect anything from him to begin with. I know some made him out to be our Sproles, but I never saw that at all. Some just believed since they were similar in build that he would be a similar player. Overall, I guess my surprise player was also Rayford, although I'm skeptical that he'll ever be anymore that a 3rd string pass rusher once teams study film on him. My biggest disappointment was that many of the backup players didn't do anything to make a name for themselves. They looked utterly disinterested much of the time. 1 other thing, is that for some reason the team still really likes McGlynn and probably has every intention of starting him for the time being. Don't understand it at all, he is absolutely terrible.

    Nailed every point!

  3. Oh gosh...all you Nancys. Anyone who didn't go into seasons during the Manning years expecting success but concerned about playoff letdowns was asleep at the switch.

At least now we don't have that monkey to wrestle with. Now the issue is can we put together an above average Oline. I hope that doesn't become the lasting issue of the Luck era.

  4. We won't know exactly now, will we, until all the cuts are made...but there sure as heck will be at least 8 REAL football players who are more valuable to the Colts than Dong-O.

    ???

Adongo is a real football player. He is curently on an NFL team's roster. A very good team. "You" aren't a real football player.

Nevertheless, it'll be interesting to see if he can make the PS and get coached up.

  5. I think teams will hit the pitch man too whether or not the QB dishes it to him or not.

And that is EXACTLY what Bill Parcells sais last season when he & Polian were discussing this. AND he said he'd be more than willing to take penalties in order to make the point.

The second the QB moves toward an option/pistol/run & shoot/scoot & poop whatever, you blast him. After week two, it'll all be over with.

  6. I'll post a link I found quoting John Madden on what he's hearing from NFL coaches on this. I find this not a surprising mind set but have serious doubts the NFL is going to allow this kind of defensive play on QB's. I think by rule , this would be no doubt be legal but I think the question will be if the NFL steps in and "tweaks" the interpretation on what are legal and illegal QB hits.

    ???

Not sure what all the handwringing is about regarding the rules and some notion that the NFL has ANYTHING to say regarding an individual who leaves the pocket and gets hit.

Once you run...you're a "runner". Doesn't matter if you're a QB or not.

    ???

  7. I hear everybody but this Oline still sucks. Holmes & Thornton can't get in their quick enough. Satele was getting thrown around like a rag doll. Perhaps Allen, Fleener & Bradshaw'll give us some more pop...but they're not skilled Olinemen...just not seeing it. And not prepared to roll with the same excuses from last year. We had an off-season and draft to address this...I thought we did...but the product looks the same.

I'll give'em some more time (in the hope dept). But I'm not holding my fire. They've got to get it together.

  8. ...in the Cleveland game.

Andrew kept it together but the Oline was something less than praiseworthy.

He rarely had a pocket that resembled...you know...a POCKET. And he took some shots. Looked a lot like last year. And we had a whopping 10 points halfway through the 2nd quarter.

That's not gonna hold water against the elite teams.

The defense was awesome...but I was very disappointed in the offensive line.

    ...just venting.
