  1. Not really..

Cincy and Pitt are 3 full games behind Baltimore..but

If Cincy goes 4-1 they are 10-6 and beat a 9-7 Indy.....

If Pittsburgh goes 4-1, they are 10-6 and beat 9-7 Indy...

we'd be out of business like the twinkee

...we may need to be 10-6.....

Twinkie is not out of business, Hostess is. Twinkies wont go away, Hostess is just liquidating and selling off all their assets. Meaning twinkies will just be made by someone else.

  2. You're only basing that off of one scenario...if we lose that final game but win the rest we will be 14-2 and have the #1 seed, no matter what.

Im not basing it off of one scenario. Im basing it off of all those weeks i just pointed out and the possibility of you losing to either the patriots or the ravens, or both. Not saying its not possible for you to beat them, but its tough. And it was a what if scenario, meaning if you dont win out on those, then you would have to play the final game.

  3. Does Houston have a vested interest in eliminating Indianapolis?

Not necessarily, but they have a vested interest in having homefield advantage throughout the playoffs. The way its looking, by my superb mathematical calculations from my masters in harvard law, (and a little help from the playoff calculator) they would be second seed if they lost the final game. But there are some very key games for the Patriots, Ravens, and Texans to determine who is first and who is second.

Week 13 Ravens vs Steelers: Losing this game could put them in guaranteed fourth seed but would allow the steelers to make the playoffs against Denver with us facing the Ravens. No Bueno.

Weel 14 Houston vs Patriots: This is pretty much the battle for the top seed. Should Houston win, this almost guarantees them first seed even with us beating them in the last week. If not, then they might have to play out because the Patriots would have the tie breaker over them. Fun tid bit. This would drop the patriots to possibly 4th and face us in the Wildcard.

Week 15 Broncos vs Ravens: Should the Ravens win this, this could almost guarantee them the 1st seed and drop Houston to 3rd seed if they lost to the patriots. Even more incentive for them to play out. Should the Broncos win, that might drop the Ravens down to 4th seed. (fun tidbit 2, if the ravens win, this would push the broncos down to 4th and play us in the wildcard.)

Week 16 Giants vs Ravens: This is just a maybe important game. it will really affect the giants but not affect the Ravens too much if stuff plays out like above.

Week 17 Colts vs Texans: This is a key game because this could be the difference between being 14-2 or 13-3. Losing 1st seed and having 3rd and possibly facing either Bengals or Steelers in the Wildcard matchup and then taking on the Patriots or the Ravens. Not a good road to go.

    Btw - i have us being 10-6.

  4. The only reason the Colts and Patriots have played each other for the past 10+ years straight is because of demand...The NFL always puts 2 teams together if there is a rivalry or the demand is high because of things like "Manning and Brady"...I have a feeling we'll see the Redskins on our schedule starting next year and it'll become year after year if the hype stays high.

Or it could be that they always placed first in their divisions and the next years schedule is based on your placement in your division against others of the same rank. But call me crazy, I like your conspiracy theory though.

  5. Reggie has been targeted 2 games

    Avery one game

    Fleener one game

    Allen one game

    Hilton one game

Maybe some method to the madness.

Andrew and his receivers are far from in sinc based on all the incompletions. Andrew is NOT Leading with his throws well at all. Practice .... .....

Year two will be much better, IMO.

This was something i talked about during the preseason. He definitely is not leading the receivers. He throws at them. That was my issue with the donald brown drop.

  6. It would have changed a great deal. Had we kicked the field goal we give the ball back to them with just under two minutes to go and they would have had all three timeouts and they are behind so they weren't just going to sit on the ball to make us use our timeouts and hope they can get one first down to run out the clock. Based on how they had been moving the ball in the second half the odds are they would have just executed a two minute drill to move down the field and try to set up Scobee to try to hit a game winning field goal. It would have still come down to defense but frankly I'd take our odds of stopping the Jags with no timeouts left and just under a minute to go more than stopping them with two minutes to go with three timeouts. As strange as it might sound you can make a case Adam missing the first kick kinda helped us in a strange way because it put the Jags in theory a more difficult spot to try to make the come back based on how events turned out. We didn't get the job done on defense after that.

That is exactly what i was saying. We were in a better position to win compared to had he made it.

  7. And your basing your hypothesis on him not making the first field goal, If he makes the first field goal the entire dynamic of the game is changed.

What?!, No. I am basing it off of whether or not he made the one he missed. The 2nd one. The one were talking about. The score with him making it would have been what 16 - 20 at that point? (4:40 left) Field positions would have been different. Time would have been wound down more. Jags would still have to go for a TD and a 2pt conv to make it 23-20. And most likely with time management, could have ensured that there would not be enough time on the clock to allow a FG and force a jump ball. Only difference is jags would have had the ball with more time than they did and gave it back to us with even less time left. I believe we were in a better position to win as it was. Because had he made that FG, and time was different. Jags most likely would have had a lot more time on the clock to work with. Thus allowing them a better opportunity to get the TD. Obviously it was not needed tho.The entire dynamic does change, but not how you would like it. But I don't know, just like you don't. Your just grasping at straws my friend and trying to justify your opinion off of something you cannot prove.

  8. 22-20, and we would have been in FG range instead of throwing a jump ball to the end zone, look at it as you will the missed FG probably cost us the game.

Your baseing that off if they game went on exactly as it did. With the made field goal it would have changed the field position entirely. More time run down because of more distance to travel. Heck, that 80yrd probably would have been the last play of the game. I can say that the missed FG probably did not cost us the game. I say the injuries and Brown probaly cost us the game.

  9. I don't disagree. Nor do I ness think he should be cut. It's just I expect better, as we all should. And he deserves, rightfully so, some of the blame. He's not immune to criticism bc his name is Adam V.

And I think he's held in awfully high regard based on plays 8yrs ago. That's my personal opinion.

I'm not worried about 60%, that will go up. It can really only go up. But for the $ I fully expect him to at least be in the Top 10 in % year in and year out. Which is something he's only done once since 2008, which to me, is shocking.

What blame? that field goal would not have won the game. Everyone says it would change the decision making of the Jags. But it would not. They would still have needed to get a TD and 2pt conversion just like they did. It would have only changed the time on the clock. Who can say that with him making it, he would have been set up for that 3rd FG Attempt, maybe that one never would have come around because of clock differences. You cannot say that his kick lost us the game or that it was his blame.

  10. I don't think we should cut him, but the miss changed the game. We should have had a lead, and then the Jags decisions would have changed. Maybe we still would have given up a touchdown after that, but there's no telling.

How would it have changed, would they not have still tried to score?

It would have been 17 - 16, they still would have done what they did. Score a TD and try for the 2pt conversion so that another FG would put it in OT.

  11. What i dont understand is why cut him for this missed field goal. Even if he made it, the score would still have been 22-20, and we still would have lost. So....whats your point here man, it makes do difference if he makes it or not. I say CUT OUR ENTIRE SECONDARY, if you want to go that route....but thats childish, so I am not.

  12. With what Vinatieri has done for this team, and his career, it would be a shame to just sideline him and let Mcaffee kick these field goals. I personally would be upset and in an uproar if they did that. Show the man the respect he deserves. He still has it, so let him finish his career with the colts being an actively participating and contributing player and retire on his terms. He deserves that much.

  13. There was nothing wrong with that pass it was a routine pass running backs catch all the time in the nfl. You see that throw every week. That's browns fault for dropping it.

Ok idk if you understand what i am trying to say. Yes it was browns fault, no doubt about it. That throw you see every week though is usually more ahead of them than his back shoulder side. Thats all i was saying that it could have been made easier. That was just one of my examples of him throwing behind or at his receivers rather than leading them.

  14. Browns drop hit him in the hands. Brown was looking down the field to run before he caught it both times. That's 100% on Brown which is why it was highlighted on the broadcast unless there was a third drop I am not recalling.

This is true, he did drop it and it did hit his hands. But when running a route like that it is much easier to catch when it is ahead of you than having to slow and twist your body around to catch it. I am no expert but i have played in flag football leagues and have run that same route. I can tell you it is easier to catch when its ahead of you than behind.

  15. There were multiple events that led to this loss, Freeney's injury being one of them along with the dropped INT in the endzone.

Another significant turning point was after we scored the TD in the second quarter. As per usual Colts special teams play, the ensuing kickoff hardly went past the goal line and they ran it out to about the 35 yard line and (again, per usual) we let them march right down the field. Other than the two great punt coverage plays, our ST still stinks and a significant part of that is our way-past-prime kicker. AV doesn't have any distance anymore and it's gotten to the point where ANY FG attempt makes me nervous. I'd be shocked if he's with this team next year.

It'll be an up and down season with all the youth, new coaches, and lack of quality veteran players. I just hope the OL can adjust and keep Luck from getting killed.

Im not sure if anyone realizes, or maybe I am wrong. But I am pretty sure that Mcafee is our kickoff kicker. V is only for FG's and EP's

  16. I'm not neccessarily agreeing that Vinitari's miss is a big reason the Colts lost.... But before the draft I was saying the Colts need to release the 41 year old and draft a kicker. Had they drafted the rookie who won the game for the Vikings, the Colts would have a better kicker now and for several years to come... But as to the loss, the Colts defense generated absolutly no pass rush after the first few minutes of the game. Cutler had all day to find the open receivers.

Drop V and draft a kicker?? Eventually McAffee is going to replace V. I think he could do it now.

  17. The problem i noticed with Luck is that almost all his passes were behind his receivers. He had a hard time leading them. Many times his receivers, like browns first drop and some of Fleeners, had to turn back or slow down to catch the ball. All 3 of his interceptions were because he threw the ball behind his receivers rather than leading them. He threw to where his receivers were, not where he wanted them to be.

  18. I think as long as collie gets out of slot position he could be fine. Put him out wide, avoid the inside routes where he would have multiple defenders on him instantly. Collie is healthy for now, but how long will that last. Until the next time he gets tackled most likely. He's been completely blasted twice. Now he's like chuck lidell, the slightest hit will knock him out. he just can take those dangerous routes anymore if he wants to stay in the game.
