  1. Whalen fractured his foot. It was the same foot that kept him from playing at the first camp out of college. This is the one injury I am most sad faced about. He looks so potentially good. I dont want him to be another Anthony Gonzalez. I want him to stay and become our 2nd or 3rd WR in our set.

  2. I would hate to see him leave. I dont think we should release him, i think at worst put on IR. That being said, i have seen everyone of his concussions either live or on TV when they happened and was nervous/worried for him every time. I would hate to see the one where he is carted off, never to return again. I have had 3 concussions myself, 1 that i went to the hospital for and was diagnosed with a mild concussion. That one caused me sporadic memory loss. I had 2 others like that before the one i went to the hospital for because i didnt know what it was and people around me told me i was fine. I had short term fractured memory from those as well. Those were mild. He has had some major ones that have knocked him out and im sure he doesnt fully remember his walk to the locker room. I would not want to see such a fan favorite like Austin Collie become seriously disabled in some manner. Even if he never plays again for us, he will always be a Colt.

If he is cut or put on IR, we as fans should write to him and give him support in any decision he makes.

  3. Theres no way we will have another Offensive dominated draft like we did this year. Not if they are smart. We would need to pick up some Defensive talent. I know were thin on the WR position but worse off on the Defensive side.

  4. Last year Polamalu (I believe) kicked a ball (slid into) farther down the field towards the opponents end zone so that they were closer. Like 10-15 yards closer. (or his endzone, however you want to look at it.)

Its to prevent someone from kicking a fumble farther towards their scoring endzone so that they have better field position.

  5. I hope you know that all those jerseys that people sell for 35, 40, and 50 bucks. They are made in China. People will order a bunch and resell them online. Websites like

www.21nfl.biz and www.jerseystrade007.com are all fake jerseys (albeit sewn on letters and numbers) and thats why they are extremely cheap. The completely rip off the actual companies. They put the holographic NFL logo's on them, have the Mitchell and Ness (For some jerseys) tags, and are utterly identical in every way. But again they are made in china and that is why they are cheap.

  6. only stat that really matters , how many of his tackles were for losses and how many for gains. a good lb has more tackles for losses than for gains.

As for that, he had 9 for 20 yards. thats 6% of his tackles were for a loss. And half of his tackles were AST

  7. Actually with the way you stated it you implied ever.

    No, it's a bad analogy

It's a bad analogy because none of what you stated is true. It's a bad analogy because an MIKE is supposed to make tackles, in many defenses he is supposed to lead his team in tackles, he did both of those things as well as any MIKE for the Colts in a long time. He showed he could make a lot of stops within 3 yards of the LOS. He showed he could cover well (only allowed 3 catches greater than 10 yards all season).

I understood it before that is why I know it's a bad analogy.

That is what I thought, the play only happened in your mind.

What does that have to do with anything. You mention one play that didn't happen as your proof that Angerer is not very good and when it's pointed out that all LBers make some boneheaded plays your response is they don't play for the Colts? Grow up and try to make somse sense.

Good for you. Many of us will base our thoughts on reality rather than a play that never happened.

Ok man you win. If you say it didnt happen, it didnt. I saw it on a movie theater screen larger than any wall in your house, saw the replay of the play and who it was that fell on their face. But your right it didn't happen. Your right, i need to grow up and step out of this one, cause im not the one who is taking this thing personal and making personal attacks. Good job

  8. Question to all: What is wrong with being the #1 pick next year? That only helps our team again, but build an amazing Defense. So lets take it if it happens. though i think we can win 6 games and therefore we wont. But still.

And i think this whole #1 draft pick with Luck was almost designed. It seems just too perfect. Let manning rest, sign autographs to people who write in (which my wife got for me for my Bday. Best ever!). They knew they couldnt afford him, he wants another championship and most likely couldnt get it with the Colts. Perfect reason for both to have a mutual split. And Andrew Luck was available, which seems to have been groomed for this role early on seeing as the two families are close. Conspiracy theory i know.

  9. We are talking about this years stats. And unfortunately all the top 5 are from terrible teams, so i take that list with a grain of salt. That analogy fits perfectly. Let me break it down for you. Angerer (The blind squirrel) has a ton of opportunites (of getting a nut) because of the amount of missed plays by other members of the team (The walnut forest dropping the nuts). Eventually he's going to get one. Understand now? Not saying good ones cant be on bad teams, he just isn't as great as everyone seems to make him out to be IMO. You probably wouldnt recall that play because at about the same time he appears on the screen, he stumbles and falls out of the camera view. And every other LB in the league, does not play for the colts. Again, i just do not believe he is as great as people make him out to be.

  10. How does this work exactly? Angerer only has high tackles because the dline and secondary are bad but the other LBers on that list have high tackles because they are good LBers?

Then you claim his tackles didn't, "do anything for us," what does that even mean? Do you think the Colts would have won more games if Angerer got fewer tackles?

And yes straight stats can be misleading, erroneous conclusions are worse though.

Im not saying those other ones are good, but you do not see the good LB's like Urlacher and Ray Lewis on that top list. No, because all the top LB's on tackles was on bad teams last year. Redskins, Browns and Vikings. Good LB's help their team win...we didnt. So what if he made those tackles because the rest of the team couldnt do anything. If he is such a good LB he should be a play maker, but he isnt. He does not come up big when it matters, he isnt clutch. A blind squirrel will always find a nut in a Walnut forest. Thats exactly what he is. he cannot help but to get that many tackles because he had that many opportunities. But how many more did he miss, or failed to come up big when it mattered like in my playoff example. he would have had the guy, but he fell on his face with noone around. And that was the drive that the Jets went on to get the TD that put them ahead. They would have only gained like 3 yards, but they gained a 1st down on that run. Ya, such a great LB we have in him.

  11. Leading the league in tackles last year doesn't impress you at all? I can understand if you don't like him that much but anytime you lead the league in tackles you are doing something right even if you are getting them because others around you aren't.

Also why would you hope he doesn't fit? The only thing that suffers from him not fitting is the franchise and makes yet another hole the Colts have to go fill. Frankly we have enough of those. The Colts have had players in the past I might not have personally cared for but as long as they were Colts I hoped they were super stars because it meant the team benefited from it.

Correction, i hope someone else fits BETTER than him.

    http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/stats/2011/regular

    .

And He did not lead the league in tackles. London Fletcher of the Redskins did. with 166. Angerer was 4th. And if our D line wasnt so bad, and our secondary wasnt so bad. He wouldnt be anywhere. he was only at the top because he had more opportunities, that doesnt mean he's the best. And obviously it didn't do anything for us last year. Straight stats can be misleading.

  12. This topic probably on the verge of being locked if it keeps going on as a argument. I'd say drop the arguing over this fanhood thing. That being said. i would want the Colts to win, and feel bad for Peyton. He deserves a few more SB's, even at the expense of the colts. But if Peyton wins, i would not feel as bad. Because if the colts made the playoffs. Thats a HUGE win for us and a statement. Were back, be afraid.

  13. I frankly do not care for Angerer. I haven't really ever been impressed with him. And when we lost to the jets two years ago in the playoffs, i watched him fall to his face chasing a guy....He was untouched when he fell. Terrible. I hope he doesnt fit.

  14. Not likely. Maybe in time, but the O'line i think is still just breaking par and we don't have the WR corp like the rams did. The RB position is in no way close the what Marshall Faulk accomplished for the rams during that time period. The RB was a pass catcher, but he was a RB first. Remember he broke Barry Sanders record for single season rush yards. Plus we still need to see Luck in action with this team. Definitely would not be something we would use within the next 3 years.
