  1. So the fans wanted the head coach's head after 14-2, 10-6, and 2-14 seasons respectively. I don't think 26-22 is a record that should warrant someone getting fired. Kubiak, meanwhile, went 6-10, 8-8, 8-8, 9-7, 6-10, and 10-6. Of his six seasons, he's only had two winning ones. Chan Gailey has gone 4-12 and 6-10, the latter after a big start to the season. Strangely enough, these two coaches still have their jobs, though it is mainly because they improved this season. Caldwell couldn't have just a single bad year? Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but if you have a ten point lead in an NFL game, isn't it very common to run the ball? Passing only results in incompletions, as many are quick to point out, and the changing of possessions. Call me crazy, but I think running the ball is the right thing to do when you have a lead. As far as maintaining the lead, that falls directly on the defense. Especially when you are facing interception-prone Josh Freeman and the Buccaneers. A lead means nothing if you cannot keep it. Pagano will not be fired because of two things: Promise and Future. He is known for what he did in Baltimore, and I don't think Irsay would want to change one of the three-headed new starts in Indianapolis: Quarterback, Coach, and GM. Pagano has the promise of a bright future on his side, which, strangely enough, Caldwell would have had as well when Luck was inevitably drafted. And for some reason, I think a lot of Pagano doubters will sprout up if the Colts don't win at least four this year. And that is sad. The thing is that so many of the fans are so used to winning that they demand it, and, as Caldwell learned the hard way, losing games means that heads will roll. Pagano's going to have to keep his eyes open.

hi welcome to Indy, winning the regular season? been there, it's superbowls that matter. then when Manning got hurt it showed how little Caldwell knew about being a head couch. 14 - 0 you don't shut that team down.

  2. Week three is the typical week that players play more snaps.

Double edged sword here because keeping him out there means keeping the rest of the offense out there against other teams backups and subs who are merely trying to make the team and might get him hit by someone trying to be a hero.

I still think it will be

Half and the first series of the second

Half and the first series of the second

    3 quarters

    2 series.

  3. He just rubs me the wrong way sometimes. Like the day joe pa died he tweeted "been out all day did the pedophile die yet" and I saw on his twitter some guy was in a debate with him over suprise onside kicking and they both had good points but he called the guy an * who knows nothing about football. Another guy asked him when he was going to cut his hair and he said when u lose all thay weight. He just seems very cocky he says he could beat any of his followers at any sport. He's a punter and acts like he is above all

Most of that is Schtick man, Just watch facebook friday with him and you will realize he is playing a character.

  4. That's my feeling as well. My hope is that Pagano and Manusky can complement each other, making up for each other's deficiencies. This will either work really well, or it will have glaring deficiencies. But I think the quality of the union will be obvious throughout this season.

I'm more concerned about who Pagano's right hand man will be. He doesn't have any experience as a game manager, aside from being a coordinator last season. I'm really nervous about head coaches who haven't spent a lot of time making big picture decisions. Jim Caldwell and Mike Singletary were plagued by poor game management. On the other hand, John Harbaugh went from position coach to head coach, and he does a fine job at game management. This is one of those things that everyone kind of learns on the job, and as they play their gut, and it's also somewhat a matter of personality. But if Pagano has someone who can give him advice on game management decisions, it would be good. I think this is what we brought Jim Tressel in for last season.

Great point superman, I agree that is what scares me about first timers.

  5. I posted this link before, but it's still very relevant to this conversation:

I also believe that people here are setting the benchmark for Luck way too high. I have no doubt he'll be great a few years down the line, but this is his rookie season and our team is still very bad. Those that are expecting 250 yards a game have their expectations set way too high. I think the benchmark should be Sam Bradford's rookie year numbers (3512 yards, 18 TDs, 15 INTs). However 4000 is unrealistic considering it's only ever been done once in history.

Chris wienke its number 9, the list means nothing ;)

  6. I agree Andy. Never understood why any fans care about what # any player wears. Many more important things to think about than that.

actually none of this is important, it's all for entertainment. if people like talking about numbers then let them. it's the offseason, people can talk about shoe size if they want, i just wouldn't click on the thread.

i think 81 is a prime tight end number.
