  1. Foster is best suited in a pass situation where his motor and speed work for him. I love the never quit attitude in him and he would be a very good Short yardage DE as well as a pass rushing Interior Dlman.

Muir was a liability as others have mentioned, I was really hoping he could do something for us.

  2. Arizona. Spent last season with the Seahawks practice squad, I believe.

    From article in OP post

Tuihalamaka was a two-year letterman at the University of Arizona after playing two seasons at El Camino Community College. At Arizona, he started 13 of 26 games and had 95 tackles (61 solo), 6.5 tackles for loss, a half sack, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, three passes defensed and one interception

Nice I am thinking of a different guy. I was only on this board and didn't go read the article, thanks.

Does anyone think he is anything more then preseason fodder?

  3. I think your assessment and grade is pretty accurate. I to think Garcon is maxed out, I think he will do well against slower CBs but will continue to struggle against faster CBs that can run with him because his route running is not the greatest.

I will also say, if Gonzo stays healthy Garcon will see his looks go down but that might be beneficial for both him and the Colts. Imagine a CB covering Gonzo and gets used to Gonzo's speed and cuts and route running. Then Garcon comes in, Gonzo moves to the inside, Garcon runs the 9 or a skinny post off a PA, catches the CBs and safeties focusing on Gonzo. Could really lead to a lot of big plays. So in that scenario Garcon would see the number of catches go down but would see his YAC and total yards remain close to the same.

I agree completely with this, I think Garcon might see his touches go down but his overall effectiveness go up.

  4. Against the run, the opposing team will be sending a blocker at our weakside backer, or else the play will be going strong side and he'll have to fight through a bunch of garbage to get to the play. Good interior line play will help, but our backers will still face blockers in the run game.

One of the things that hurt us in the opener against the Texans, perhaps as much as the poor tackle play, was the linebackers overrunning the play. Clint Session did this over and over again, primarily because he was trying to get around the blockers, instead of taking them on. He could have been going straight up and setting the edge, limiting a play, but instead was trying to go all the way outside and get back in to make a tackle. That's what Gerry Bertier would call "selfish, show-off football," leaving his teammates out to dry.

Either way, discipline is more important than athletic displays for our defense. All of our guys are athletic, but they need to handle their assignments and let the defense work as a unit. That's true of the gap linemen and the linebackers.

Couldn't agree more as to setting the edge and one thing I think Angerer does really well and I think Melvin does it very well in run support as well.

  5. almost the same as last year on defense and we couldn't stop the run what do we need?

Moala really started to come on last year and I expect him to have a much better year this year.

Angerer has a year under his belt as well and should be playing more instinctively this year and is a great run stuffing back, actually reminds me of the super bowl year when we moved Rob Morris over there and he was the one guy on the team solely responsible for the run (I know not really but it appeared that he was told run first then pass and everyone else was still stop the run on the way to the Quarterback)

  6. simms, brackett, and wheeler? I like that combo

No way man, Angerer is twice the player Wheeler is already and has nowhere to go but up. Pat looked real good for a rookie thrust into starting for us last year and I look forward to him having that year experience under his belt.

I wanted Wheeler to succeed for us but I feel like now he is destined to be a solid special teams player and linebacker depth for his career with spot duty if needed ala Larry Izzo.

  7. Hey, it's my first Post. Cut me some slack "MODERATOR". I'm actually interested in the subject. Not all of us are sports writers, that can go, or feel the need to go elaborate into a subject. I just wanted to do a quick shout out of ideas. Some user friendly hospitality would be nice.

The mod wasn't talking to you, they were talking to other posters jumping on the name bandwagon. The mod was actually on your side but you stay cool bro.

  8. They won't do it during commercial break, it will be instantly after the play. If the call is right then we won't even notice a difference, if it's close then they call the referee in for a normal booth review.

They already do this in college for every single play, not just touchdowns. It's no big deal, it just means we should have less close calls to complain about next year.

    This

I don't think this will not have any sort of negative impact on the games length this year.

  9. OchoCinco is not disastrous in the locker room. He was completely different then Randy in that regard, his antics where in the name of fun not in the name of I better get the ball and shame on you for not throwing it to me.

Billy boy will get both of those guys under control. Will it be as bad as some are thinking there? no. I think however they will be better there then you are thinking TS.
