I was waiting for the topic to be started as it usually is by the time I get here. I don't have all of Uncle Mark's stats and spreads (feel free to add them Mark!)
Who are you going with? What are the biggest match up issues?
Steelers always seem to give my Chargers fits, but without Roethlisburger I'm not sure how effective the Steeler offense is going to be. We played Vick last year with the Jets and he was terrible (of course the Steelers offense definitely ISN'T the Jets!)
I predict we win by 14. Gates is back, I'm certain they'll have some wrinkles to throw in the game to take advantage of no film this year. It's time for Melvin Gordon to break out. I've been shocked at how good his numbers actually are, it hasn't seemed like he's made that big of an impact but he's always a break away threat.
-
Calling it now... why? There's no glory in going with history rather than knowing that every past record will be broken some day/year.
Both of those teams are NEW teams. What their franchise did in the past is just that and they have just as much chance of breaking through as any other team.
Andy Dalton has gotten much better the past couple years. Not my fav QB but certainly adequate.
I haven't seen the Falcons play all year so no comment on them.
So much football between now and the playoffs that your prediction won't even be remembered (unless someone pulls it out to taunt you after one or both of those teams go into the 2nd round )

I loved having Freeney, for his skills and for the leadership he brought to the locker room and the mentoring he did with our young players. I was really sad when we cut him loose. I'm not sure how much he has left, but I do know his heart is all in so he'll give it all he has.
-
That was crappy - and not fair for Detroit. My heart goes out to their fans. It was so obvious, I can't believe the official was standing right there looking at it. No excuses.

This game is B O R I N G. We're behind watching it but it's terrible.
-
I have never been a fan of Chip Kelly's offense at the pro level. Pro teams are fast to figure out gimmickery. Strength and power opening holes is hard to overcome and they don't have it on their line.
-
Luck can't do it all by himself but when you have a qb that thinks they have to carry the team on their shoulders and make things happen - you will have a qb that will take risks they shouldn't take (Rivers can do this as well when not protected well enough). Andrew will eventually "get it" and stop trying to be the hero.

So, guess who was a dork and forgot to record the shows AFTER the game... So we get to the first touchdown and time's up! I had to go to NFL to catch the highlights. Won't do that again this year!!!!
-
Yep, I forgot.
My favorite comeback of his is the comeback from 0-24 vs Chargers on MNF on my 40th birthday in 2012, because I was on vacation and no one in my family cared about football leaving me to be the only one watching
I thought, here we go again, another slaughter at the hands of the Chargers. That's what made that special on my special day.
And it's my LEAST FAVORITE PEYTON MANNING GAME OF ALL TIME
-
Sanders has played very well. He shows up every week unlike Thomas. Thomas might be hurt though.
Yeah, he's the only one though. The other's routes have seemed tentative and sloppy. Maybe it's not knowing for sure if Peyton's going to be able to get it to them?
-
In Peyton's defense, none of his receivers look particularly sharp.
-
Soooooo.... hubby just walks in and we're going to move the game back to where it was 14-0 KC before the half and I'll be watching the second half all over again, LOL! So much for catching up. I think I'll cheat and keep watching your posts though - I don't want to wait another couple hours before I see the score.
-
As I was reading your post another bad throw by Peyton... should have picked off.
-
I think I want KC to win this one - they're definitely the more beatable team.
-
He was hit throwing - that's definitely a pressure turnover.
-
Terrible offensive series and another turnover by KC.
-
So, those of you that know Peyton's play much better than I, how do you think his play is comparing to year's past? His velocity on his passes seems slow to me. That and his accuracy is either way off or his receivers are in the wrong place.
-
Whew! Finally caught up to y'all. I don't know who I want to win. I'm not sure who the stronger team is going to be. Who hid my crystal ball anyway?!!!
-
but you'll miss michael irvin jaw jackin' on the halftime show
Oh DARN... sacrifices must be made, LOL!
-
I'm way behind, watching on tivo. I'm before Denver scores at all. I'll try to catch up at half time.
-
Playing dirty doing it... Freeney and Mathis didn't do that.
-
They look like a college team and they're playing like one
-
Terrible non-call on pass interference. I hope that doesn't matter in the end because Minnesota was robbed.
-
Early onset dementia??? Geez, that's a costly error and no coordinators either recognized the error and/or wouldn't risk telling Coughlin?
Bad any way you look at it.
Dwight Freeney Signs With Cardinals

I wouldn't mind if the Cardinals won the SB if my Chargers aren't in it (yeah, long odds but a true fan never quits hoping!)
