One good thing is we returned almost all the starters on offense. He doesn’t need time with Ebron or TY or Doyle. The oline is intact. That probably helps in this situation. He likes big bodies so it should not take long with DF. Campbell was going to be worked in slow anyway.

Exactly. Ill say this. If they lose to the Chargers it's not the end of the world. They're a great team. I just want to make sure we can hang with them.

I wonder if he might be throwing to the WR outside of practice. It’s just sad we wont see him against the browns.

I'm sure he could be. Plus he has experience with ty, doyle, ebron, rogers and cox. The only ones are Campbell and Funchess but i don't think it will take long. Missing practices are a concern but hopefully he will start after browns preseason game.

I watched that earlier. Peter king didn’t sound convinced. I think there is no question he will be ready. That doesn’t mean the team will be ready on offense and be sharp.

I think he's convinced and I think if he was worried he would of said it. I do agree. I think Andrew may not be as sharp but let's hope the team Ballard put together stops the Chargers. The defense in my mind is much better and with the o-line in year 2 and a healthy mack they can take the pressure of luck. The Chargers are really good but I feel like we match up really well compare to some other teams.

  4. Not saying this is same situation but what Luck is doing is right. Last year Castonzo tried rushing back from a hamstring and had multiple setbacks. He end up missing 4 weeks because of it. Sure I would like luck to come back Asap but he definetly has to do what's right to get ready for the Opener.

Here is another interview king did for colts.com.

    Good article to read.

I don't feel like there is controversy at all. When Luck is playing there are not many Qb's better than him. I think Luck is stating the obvious. He knows Jacoby is too good to be a back up and definetly sees him being a starter next year with another team. But he will never beat out Luck.

He seems pretty adamant that he's getting better and will play week 1. Interesting question when King asked him if this injury happened last season and the response.

Also, in FMIA article he posts Luck had 3 MRI'S and shows nothing more than a calf strain. He also heard this had started from late last season. In article he does mention Colts and Luck are confident he will play week 1.

As tight lipped as Ballard and Co are... aint no way, no how this "source" knows anything about who the colts want.  Heck, Ballard has Irsay's tweeting under control even.

I agree 100%.... My thought on this though is it's just his Mock Draft. He doesn't have to list NFL sources in it. A mock draft is what he thinks will happen. I wouldn't be surprised though. Abram has said before the Colts have been one of the top teams that has spent the most time with him.

We are looking for a slot. Almost every receiver weve spoken with is a slot guy.

I'm not saying we have found a slot guy but I saw some tweets that broke down Funchess and that he plays his best in the slot. Read that his drops are significantly lower and only had a couple drops. Also, it said his route running is better suited for short intermediate routes. I'm wondering if Funchess plans to play a lot in the inside this year. I know Ballard and Reich likes using guys strengths. Not saying it will happen but thought it was quite interesting.

@Boiler_Colt can't find that bit from matt miller, but i found this interesting tidbit.

    https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2823952-matt-millers-scouting-notebook-draft-news-and-rumors-for-every-nfl-team

Has who the Colts want to take in the draft, via the colts scouting department (teams are in real draft order).

    Thanks for finding it!

I do agree with Miller's assesment on the Colts. If a good interior or end is available I definetly see Ballard staying put and drafting that player. My thoughts on it is I think Wilkins, Lawerence or Burns will be gone by than. I could be wrong but I do really like Wilkins but have a feeling he will be gone by our pick. I just love knowing how how he has hit with middle round guys so I would be okay with a trade down. Thursday will be boring for Colts fans but day 2 would be awesome.

I would be slightly surprised as it's rumored Ballard is looking for a trade-up partner. Don't disagree rounds 2-4 are strong though. If Burns or Wilkins is there at 21, I'd trade up. Otherwise, I would pick at 26 or trade down.

Matt Miller started that rumor and I think he only stated it because Ballard has the ammo to do it. Also, Miller had no source to that statement and that's not Ballards MO. Ballard even stated that he loves those picks so I'd be shocked if he trade up. Not impossible but Ballard would seriously have to love that guy. I think there are a good amount of players in the 2nd and 3rd round that could also fill needs.

  12. Everyone here knows Ballard loves having draft picks and many experts say that the strongest part of this year's draft are rounds 2-4. Experts say you can find great value in this year's middle rounds. Also, teams every year try to trade up into the late first round to get another player and I definetly see Colts being one of the teams moving back. I would be okay knowing we trade back since they have the 2nd pick in the 2nd round and by trading back they can pick up a teams 2nd round pick with an additional 3rd and 5th round pick.
