Why do all of you think he cant do that? Hes a big receiver who makes contested catches. But when is the last time he had a QB who could place accurate balls downfield? I think he is better than Higgins and would absolutely catch 120 passes in Cincy.

And......there are some rumblings if Harbaugh wins the natty he WILL look to return to the NFL and thats the most likely spot.

What about just packaging future picks for a blue chip guy at a position of need? I would personally draft another QB. They MUST get that position figured out and I personally feel like this current team, as is with all its flaws, with a premier QB, is a bonafide contender with some internal development and a few other tweaks. Sure they need some improvement on defense and at skill positions on offense, but the biggest upgrade they could make is still at the QB position. And there are some good prospects this year. I like Daniels a lot. I love Ant but his health is a concern and until we know what we have we should be on the search. If we wind up with 2 competent QBs, then we have a huge trade chip to further develop the roster down the road and recoup the picks qe give up for the QB.

They tried, several times, Minshew couldnt execute and make them pay. He was either dumping it off to the first guy that popped open, leaving the pocket early, or throwing an errant pass.

If the Colts bring in someone else, its likely gonna be another zone guy, so I dont see a change this offseason. Its too hard to change your personnel to a completely different scheme, and that would set us back several years. I could however, see them bringing Eberflus back if he gets fired, but other than that I expect Gus to be back.

With Joe Burrow at QB. Pittman would catch 120 passes and have 2x more TDs with Burrow at QB.

I dont blame him. I think hes better than hes been given credit for and has been held back tremendously by the QB situation here. Hes had what? 6 or 7 different QBs in his 4 years here?

They've been open all year. Pierce gets behind the defense quite a bit. Gardner is basically a "check down Charlie" type of QB who is getting rid of the ball first chance he gets 90% of the time. Its hard for Alec to look good with a QB like that. People dont like hearing it, but its true. This is why Ballard isnt gonna worry about the WR position that much this offseason, nor should he. He might add somebody to the mix but we have 3 good young talents at WR. Pierce just needs to develop a little more and be more of a focus. I have zero doubt about Downs and Pittman. I think they focus on defense in the draft.

Thats pretty ridiculous. How do you know when they "wanted" to stop him and when they wanted him to run for over 10 yards? Which he did a mind boggling 7 times in that game btw. Oh I know...... They didnt stop him very often all game....... But those are the only times they actually "wanted" to stop them? How convenient for your opinion. Gardner Minshew absolutely did not make any "amazing" throws in that game. Cmon man.

This is so true, but its just so disappointing given the situation. We were right there. But the gap between Minshew and Stroud was just too great and it showed at the end of the game. The throws Stroud made to Collins to start the game and on that scramble in the 4th quarter vs Minshews throw to Pittman that sailed 15 yards over his head out of bounds and his attempted swing pass on 4th down, is the entire story here. The play call is just frustrating for me because I honestly think we couldve still won, in spite of it.

I believe I saw a small child in the crowd haul in that pass intended for Pittman in the first half. Maybe we shouldve went to him again?

So the Texans allowed JT to keep us in the game........and almost beat them, because they were focused on our passing game, which features Gardner Minshew who cant hit a wide open RB in the flat, and a bunch of recievers that, also according to you, arent very good either. No you just suffer from a severe case of confirmation bias. You start with a conclusion and work backwards from there. The guy was dominant in the game. It was a great performance, and you talk like it was all luck and he couldnt have possibly picked up 1 yard. Because you are too busy trying to support your previous narratives. And you think thats a reasonable opinion based on evidence? Okayyyyyy I have been a supporter of Steichen all year. But here I offer some criticism. Why? Because Im actually using logic.

You act like there are only 2 options. If I were to throw it in the situation, I wouldve ran that read option play where Pittman goes in motion out to the flat. Its worked every time we have ran it this year. And youre throwing the ball to a big guy who can make contested catches and has caught more passes than anyone for you this year, not a guy with no big game experience.

Holder sums up my thoughts perfectly. Schematically it was a good call. But i dont think he showed very good judgement in making that call at that time. Now, if it was 1st down and not 4th down, its a completely different opinion. If they run for that 1st down, then have JT catch a blow and bring in Goodson to run that exact same play on 1st down........then its perfectly reasonable to me. But not on the most important play of the entire season. Steichen said he was fine in the presser.

19 catches in a half a season. Which is actually pretty good. Goodson has 6 in his career.

Which is why its a horrible play call. You put the ball in the hands of a guy who couldnt hit the broad side of a barn all day and a 3rd string RB. I like Steichen but he outsmarted himself on this one and deserves the heat hes getting.

You could have Marvin Harrison SR and Randy Moss out there with Cooper Kupp in the slot and Gronk at TE....... and Gardner Minshew still couldnt throw a good ball. How is a receiver supposed to impact the game in that environment?
